  1. I dunno if Allen is good (he's been playing better lately), but the rest of the offense around him is slowly emerging as being pretty good. John Brown has been excellent. Cole Beasley is a weapon from the slot. Devin Singletary has changed our running game since emerging as the feature back against Washington. Dawson Knox has been very good for a rookie tight end. If we can add an elite WR with some size to pair with Brown on the outside, and the other guys get a bit better next year (particularly Singletary and Knox), this offense could be exceptional next season. Allen is in a great position to succeed.
  2. I'm finally buying into the idea the Bills could be really good... next year. Their offense has shown signs of improvement since they've abandoned their two tight end sets and gone with more 3 WR personnel. This isn't surprising at all, because Lee Smith was completely useless and anyone who can actually run and catch the ball has represented an upgrade. Our running game has also improved since we made Devin Singletary the focus of our running game against Washington. Gore plays a role, but Singletary has been amazing over the last few weeks grinding out yardage with the occasional chunk play mixed in. Allen has also played relatively well, John Brown has been outstanding, Beasley has done well in the slot, and Knox has added an extra dimension through the tight end position as he's taken playing time away from Smith and Sweeney. Next year the Bills need to continue building out the OL, and they need to go all out to get an elite receiver to pair with Brown. If we had Brown, a 1st round rookie, Beasley, Knox and Singletary, this offense could legitimately be "set" for the next 3-4 years. If Allen can continue to slowly growing into the position, and the defense stays elite, the Bills could legitimately be Super Bowl contenders over the next couple seasons.
  3. Dallas also hasn't beat anyone with a winning record. It will be a really interesting match up. If Tre can lock down Cooper, and we can mostly keep Zeke contained, our offense shouldn't have to score a ton of points to win.
  4. The offense is showing signs of life. Still need to beat a team with a winning record though.
  5. Watching this team you'd never think they actually practise their 2 minute drill. This is freaking horrible.
  6. I wrote that because we'd just picked off a pass. Had absolutely nothing to do with being negative.
  7. That's fair. My stance is that there are so many injuries to running backs, that the investment usually won't pan out. I'm not saying guys like McCaffey and Kamara won't continue to play well, but I'm not paying those guys $15-18 mil a year when I could just draft a guy and pay him $3 mil a year for the best four years of his career. I'd much rather spend that money on other more premium positions.
  8. I disagree. I have no problem using a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a running back every few years, and paying those guys $2-3 mil a year in the prime of their career, vs allocating more resources to a veteran on their second contract. IMO running back is one of the least valuable positions in the league based off what it costs to sign guys after their rookie deal. Just keep drafting young guys and discard them when their rookie deal is up. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  9. Yeah. Just giving my own thoughts. I don't think they're necessarily "kooks". Most of their policies are successfully being practised in developed countries around the world. With that said they're all too radical for America, which is an extremely conservative country. Pete seems like the guy who is going to emerge from the centre left lane (Biden seems finished due to excessive baggage). He's well funded and his campaign seems to be run pretty well. He could emerge as the democratic candidate. As Warren and Sanders have released more details on their plans they seem to have opened themselves up to more criticism.
  10. Never pay a running back on their 2nd contract. Just draft guys or sign guys at the end of their career and leave out everything in between.
  11. Congrats to Josh. Arguably his best game as a Bill. Really hoping he can lead us to two wins over the next five weeks.
  12. I think the Dems ultimately have to go with one of the more radical candidates like Sanders or Warren in an attempt to inspire their base. I think common sense would indicate that they should run someone more centre, but I don't think that's a winning strategy. I don't think it turns out the vote for them and I don't think they can actually expect any right leaning independents to ever vote for them in the current political environment. I agree with you regarding who are probably the best options, but I don't think either wins a general election because I don't think either turns out the Democrat base in the numbers they'll need to flip the key swing states. They really need the field to start shrinking to a more reasonable size. Anyone polling under 2% at this point should be conceding defeat and throwing their weight behind someone else.
  13. I'm not sure. Trump is in charge of foreign policy, but he can't unilaterally declare war on anyone. Seems like they can't possibly be the same thing. Congress was the body who passed the Ukraine Support Act, allocated funds and resources to combat Russian aggression in the area. It was signed into Law by Obama, but I'm not sure anyone considers it a key piece of his foreign policy. National Security seems like something multiple branches of government can contribute to.
  14. It can't be. A President doesn't have the unilateral authority to declare was on countries he thinks may be a threat to US National Security.
  15. Her testimony is regarding national security not necessarily foreign policy. She (and everyone who has testified before her) views Russia as a US adversary and Ukraine as an ally who needs to be supported to stop Russian aggression and influence. All of these people are career diplomats with extensive careers who know Russia is bad, and Ukraine needs help to resist Russia. It's not like her testimony is unique. Literally everyone who has testified has said the same things about what they thought was in the country's national interest.
  16. Hill has been outstanding. She's so articulate in getting across her account of what happened. Her saying Boulton described Sondland's meeting as a drug deal is damning. Holmes has been valuable but not great. He seems to have an axe to grind, although nothing he's said was actually refuted by Sondland yesterday.
  17. You obviously didn't read a single word I wrote in my 3rd and 4th sentences. I'm going to throw you on the ignore list. You bring absolutely nothing to the table.
  18. Way to take two lines of what I said and ignore the other two. What a joke.
  19. The Republicans have stopped asking questions because they're not getting the answers they want. Just lecturing the witnesses with monologues designed to score points on cable TV tonight. Dr. Hill has been amazing with her resolve. She's incredibly smart and well spoken. Her message is great, but unfortunately no one presiding over today's hearing cares to listen.
  20. Republicans don't appear to understand the definition of hearsay.
