How the Ravens went from SB winner to afterthought
CommonCents replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is overblown, they were 10-6 two years ago. Last season they had a record amount of injuries and many of them too key positions. They had something like 20 guys on IR and 8 of those were week 1 starters. Any team that loses its starting QB is screwed, then to lose 3 WR's, a TE, two running backs etc. http://m.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-Reach-Record-Number-Of-Players-On-Injured-Reserve-In-John-Harbaugh-Era/b13d9c11-26a3-4102-abf8-ffde6a307f95 They had one bad draft in 13'. http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?teamId=0325&type=team -
Has anyone watched 13 hours?

Arians is a great watch, I haven't seen any of this series yet though. The only thing standing between Arians and the Lombardi is the choke artist named Carson Palmer.

Jimmy Vesey update, Joe Haggerty the Bruins beat reporter was doing a radio show this morning and reaffirmed his stance that Jimmy is more likely to sign in Buffalo. He commented on Vesey and his family not liking how Jimmy Hayes was treated last year and the pressure he faced (Hayes is from Boston). This goes with the local stuff I have heard about Vesey's dad not wanting him to sign here and play under Julien.

Yep the AFC South as a whole should be improved. I'm not sure how MM has another head coaching gig but....

If he don't have a fall guy he can always blame bad parenting.

Andrew Luck signs new contract with Colts.

Would you rather be the GM that had to pay Tannehill, Cutler, Stafford, Dalton, Cousins, Brock, Bradford etc. The QB market and the way it impacts teams is a tough pill to swallow I'm just not going to start with Luck when I gripe about it. As I said before I'm not a fan of his personally but I can see why GM's around the league talk highly of him even though he is yet to win anything. I'm done defending Luck until he shaves his neckbeard. -
No, only coaches are allowed too make those kind of declarations in June. I'm simply saying they addressed their biggest needs and are going to be improved.

Andrew Luck is not even close to Colin Kap, Kap was a 2nd round pick and excelled while defenses experienced the read option fad that quickly burnt out. Luck does have a tendency to force the ball and make mistakes, a lot of young QB's have problems with turnovers...Peyton did some of that but learned from it. I don't think anyone knows exactly when Luck was hurt last year and/or how bad, I won't judge him based on his performance though because clearly something was wrong. I'm not a big fan of Luck but as you said he has all the tools to improve and from all accounts he is leaps and bounds above 95% of other football players mentally. IMO he has been short changed on coaching, scheme, and Oline help. TRent Richardson experiment etc. etc. they have really written a playbook for what not to do when you get a franchise QB. I just wouldn't go as far to compare him to a player like Kap who doesn't have the pedigree and potential of Luck. I feel like that's comparing a Bass Boat to a Yacht because you can catch fish off both of them. Which boat do you want? He needs to learn to stop chasing after guys on his INT's and stop taking shots in the pocket. That is my biggest concern with him, his health. His next step will be playoff performance, again I won't be too critical the Patriots ran that team over multiple times, that whole team needs to play better. Ryan Kelly is a nice start, I said Grigson would have been a fool to pass on him, for Luck's sake thankfully he didn't. -

The GM has been the problem in Indy not the QB. If you polled the league on which player they would take to start a new franchise I'm sure Luck would rank pretty highly. Grigson finally made a 1st round pick that made sense and protects his young QB. Now only if they could turn back time and fix the last three drafts. -
Texans made the playoffs with bad QB and the worst RBBC once Foster went down. They got Brock and Lamar Miller to upgrade that O along with some nice complimentary WR's to go with Hopkins. The D will still be strong, we don't belong ahead of them.

Who's Your Surprise Starter for 2016?
CommonCents replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Greg Little is my sleeper to win that 3 WR role and revitalize a once promising career. He has size and strength that others in the pile of misfits lack. I have no idea how he has looked since signing here but if he gets his act together he would be a nice compliment. Here is a short write up about him coming out of NC, it mentions his blocking which I'm sure tickles Roman's hairy little chin chin. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/greg-little?id=2495192 -

Is watching that video similar to going to a KKK meeting and getting wide eyed over the impression you get of "white folk"? I am not sure that it is or isn't because I don't have much interaction with Muslims TBH. Are those extreme feelings part of the smaller population? Do many Muslims carry those same beliefs but withhold them until the appropriate time? Their beliefs and treatment of woman are much different than ours, they don't assimilate with the rest of the population. That last statement is not 100% but it's not unfair, they form and organize communities that are non inclusive. Again, is that such a small percent that it's an unfair representation of their general beliefs? Their differing views on some of our society's fundamentals is certainly alarming, if it's an oil and water situation why are we debating large scale immigration? The extremists magnify the situation, sure.
