  1. Thor's scheduled to go tonight, Wheeler on Thursday. If it's related I hope it's to Wheeler. But after seeing what we gave up for Stroman and knowing that Wheeler is strictly a rental I wouldn't expect the Mets to get much for him. So right now if they trade a pitcher I hope it's Diaz.
  2. Could be, he's no shrinking violet and for example was critical of the trip to Syracuse before the season started. Not the best way to ingratiate yourself with the boss.
  3. City of tiny lites Don't you wanna go Hear the tiny auto horns When they tiny blow Tiny lightin' In the storm Tiny blankets Keep you warm Tiny pillows Tiny sheets Talkin' bout those tiny cookies That the peoples eats
  4. True, but Brodie has eviscerated the farm system and brought in a win-now starter. If he's elevated Wheeler's value, great. Until I see what comes back, moving Thor still makes no sense to me. On the other hand, a top 4 of DeGrom/Thor/Stroman/Matz looks pretty good to me.
  5. Doesn't necessarily mean Thor is gone. With Kay out of the picture Wheeler might be the next guy voted off Mets Island.
  6. Didn't see that one coming. Brodie seems to have little regard for prospects in the Mets system who aren't major league ready. @row_33: how should Mets fans feel about Stroman?
  7. Matz doesn't have the temperament to be a closer. I've seen too many times where something doesn't go his way and he folds like a cheap suit. With that said I was fortunate enough to be in attendance yesterday and what a performance by Matz. And to cap it off we came home with Mr. Met On The Moon bobbleheads! Wheeler is built to be a starting pitcher. If he can avoid more injuries I think he'll be a solid and once in awhile spectacular starter for the next few years, probably no more than 4 or 5.
  8. Here's a link to the @plenzmd1 google doc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F9yhWkCZkeTFX_6yagiiwCPu-JUnhBAxuPILxW8U438/edit My two cents is you should visit Niagara Falls. A lot of people say that the Canadian side is better. That may or may not be true, but it requires crossing the border and there's plenty to do and see on the American side.
  9. One rumor making the rounds is a three way deal with the Padres getting Thor and the Mets getting Marcus Stroman. This makes no sense to me: Thor/Stroman career stats: Age: 26/28 Years of Control Left: 1/2 ERA: 3.21/3.76 WHIP: 1.158/1.278 Games Started: 106/129 IP: 645/789
  10. A lot of chatter about trading Thor today. For the life of me I'm not sure why you give up on him with two years of control left. Unless you know something. Arm issues are one possibility, but Syndegaard was a Brodie client. Maybe Brodie knows that he'll never re-sign with the Mets for whatever reason.
  11. Been out on the road 'bout six months too long. I want you so bad, I can hardly stand it. I'm so tired and I'm all alone. We'll soon be together and that's it; I'm comin' home to your love. Hitchhiking on the turnpike all day long. Nobody seemed to notice, they just pass me on by. To keep from going crazy, I got to sing my song. Got a whole lot of loving and baby that's why I'm comin' home to your love.
  12. In a dark and lonely corner Of a time-worn dockside inn Sits a local barstool warrior Talking to his gin Tracing past decisions He motions for a shot Is he doomed to be a man this world forgot?
  13. The facility is well-equipped to stitch up anyone on the bench ala Dave 'Killer' Carlson.
  14. Ice wasn't a problem. In fact, they tried to play hockey but there was a face-off at mid-ice.
  15. Well, that liquor in the nighttime leaves strange memories Seems a lifetime since yesterday Come the daybreak, come the tomorrow, That woman's waited up all night for me again She said well, I think that you're headed for a whole lot of trouble Yeah, I think that you're headed for a whole lot of trouble Yeah, you know that you're headed for a lot of trouble If you take your whiskey home

  17. Ding ding ding!!! Mea culpa if I'm wrong about the episode.
  18. What was the name of the other (fictitious) movie from the same episode?
  19. Winner winner, chicken Tweety Bird dinner.
  20. Doc has always come off as a likable, down to earth person. I sincerely hope he continues to battle and is able to overcome his demons. We better hope so. I don't think anyone predicted the drop off we saw in the first half.
  21. No sir, but unless I'm mistaken there's a Superman in every episode. I think I heard that somewhere, I know there's one on the shelf behind his couch.
  22. What pez dispenser did Jerry take out at George's girl friends piano recital that made Elaine lose it, ruining the performance?
  23. This deserves better than a like/awesome/haha reaction. Well done.
