I wonder if, with that money, came some expectations that he didn't like or couldn't do well. Here he has nothing to lose and is only expected to show up and play football. He'd have some issues. Limited practice time would be one. Outbound transfers would be another from players who aren't interested in taking his crap. Proximity to the cheerleading team would be a third.

He talked to his buddy Saban and liked the idea of the absolute control he could have at a program. Transfer rules and NIL money let you fix a program quickly these days too. I'd love to see him flirt with the Jets just to leave them at the altar again though.

I have teams I definitely do not want to play for personal reasons. A Bills/Eagles Super Bowl would be rough in the family for example. A nice thing about a Bills/Lions Super Bowl is that, minimally, some well deserving fan base achieved their dreams. If push comes to shove I don't care and just want the Bills to win it, but if you let me choose an opponent I will.

I'm pretty sure he's coming in to be emergency depth at this point. This puts him back on the film room, back on the practice field and back on the sideline even if he's not active. He will be helpful in all areas even if he doesn't actually suit up.

Tirico got a dig in when he commented about working with Garrett on Thanksgiving. Something along the lines of "someone pleasant to work with" I don't remember exactly what he said. We all break balls from time to time and it always comes from somewhere, you're not just making stuff up out of the blue when you're trying to yank someone's chain because it doesn't have any weight. You always pull from something real, even if you're just messing around.

That's fair, but having seen so much of McDaniel now he comes off as INCREDIBLY fake and that works when you're winning but when things go bad it all comes crashing down. We will see how much they really believe in him or not. They aren't dead yet. Will they come out and play or roll over?

I really dont think the Lions game matters. Obviously winning is better than losing but there should be 4 clear Ws on the calendar regardless and I think the Chiefs luck starts to run dry.

I don't care for his schtick but the boys seem to like him and every locker room needs a glue guy/hype man. He's makes plays every now and again which is also nice.
