I'm pretty sure he's coming in to be emergency depth at this point. This puts him back on the film room, back on the practice field and back on the sideline even if he's not active. He will be helpful in all areas even if he doesn't actually suit up.

Tirico got a dig in when he commented about working with Garrett on Thanksgiving. Something along the lines of "someone pleasant to work with" I don't remember exactly what he said.
