Patriots and hopefully taking the division away from them. I think the Ravens game is already a foregone conclusion unless the 49ers knock Jackson out for a few weeks. Although it would be great to beat the Cowboys in Dallas and go on to see Jerry Jones fire his HC. The more important game is the Patriots and the Steelers, Jets. Winning those three would give the Bills and 11-5 record and possibly the AFC East.

Good lord, really? After what the Ravens just did to the Rams on MNF, 45-6... they handily beat the 10-1 Patriots with their #1 defense 37-20 they beat the 9-2 Seahawks 30-16 and destroyed the 7-4 Houston Texans 41-7. The ONLY good things that might help the Bills is that they are home in Buffalo! They get extra time to prepare after the Thurs Dallas game. And the Ravens will be playing the 10-1 49ers the week before. This game could very well be the two SB teams for this year. I hope the Bills play well and don't get embarrassed.

I like the Bills chances in this game should the Bills take the lead and keep it, along with Daboll up in the booth. With Daboll on the sidelines and the Cowboys getting the lead I see the run game going out the window and then Daboll calling 40+ pass plays... I'm really hoping for the former and Singletary having another 100 yard game rushing. Pretty sure there is one Buffalo Bill who is hoping to have 100 yards receiving with a TD or two.

Should the Bills win this Thursday I think the Cowboys owner will fire their HC...what would be more perfect

Good write up Virgil. Bills run game, 47 carries for 244 yards against the #4 defense in the league, a 5.2 YPC avg! Whoa! Bills fans have been asking for more runs for Singletary and he got them today, 21 carries for 106 yards a 5.0 YPC avg. Through the first nine weeks a prominent poster kept saying the Bills NEEDED to come out throwing so Josh could establish a rhythm or otherwise he would never settle in and be a good passer. Which now, was so obviously wrong as Allen does just fine with a run first offense. (not the OP) The other positive point is that Daboll up in the booth is working wonders for the offense. The only real negative were the penalties 12 for 90 yards. They must correct this for the remainder of the season or they won't win many of the next five games.

None of the six game will be easy nor will any "tell us all we need to know"! Bills (#12 ranking) at 7-3 could end up 13-3...alas, we all know they aren't that good just yet. Denver (#27), @ Dallas (#9) on turkey day! Baltimore (#2), @ Pittsburgh (#16), @ New England (#1), NY Jets (#28). Although,10-6 is more realistic.

My lord the Bills are 7-3 with the #3 defense in the NFL...with one of the best CBs...and whats looking like a very stable young QB who should develop into that long term franchise QB like Kelly. My lord, why are we crying now about how we got here and not drafting Jackson. Just like with Mahomes, I highly doubt Jackson would look anywhere near as good in Buffalo as he does in Baltimore with Greg Roman, RG3, Harbaugh. Just like Mahomes wouldn't look nearly as good in Buffalo if he didn't get a chance to sit for a year behind a former #1 overall draft pick at QB in Alex Smith. Nor would he look at good if he wasn't developed under offensive genius Andy Reid. I'l extremely happy the Bills are currently 7-3 with Josh Allen at QB, Tre White at CB while looking like the playoffs are in the near future. I'm also happy McD is at HC and Brandon Bean is the GM. It is what it is, and thinking about other possibilities is a waste of my time. If you want to think back on stupid moves...how about two first round draft picks and a fourth rounder to move up draft a WR when the team didn't already have their franchise QB was so very utterly moronic. Not to mention that despite the talent in this WR, he is so often injured he has never realized the value of being drafted where he was drafted. The Bills could have drafted Khalil Mack who was actually worthy of two firsts, or WR Mike Evans who looks like he will be a future HoFer. Or, the Bills could have stood pat and drafted Odell Beckham Jr or anyone of the 15 first rounders who have been pro bowlers. Like I said, I'm happy the Bills are currently 7-3 and I'm also not looking back.

I agree with this. Plus the fact that Daboll started the first series with a run by Singletary...a 22 yard run which caused the Dolphins defense to start keying on him. While Singletary didn't have a great day, it also took a lot of pressure off Allen in the pocket. Also, it looked like Daboll called a better game and that might be because he was up top looking over the entire field of play.This week the offense was very balanced with 34 runs vs 33 passes. Not so many penalties either with only 5 for 50 yards. The Bills defense finally beat up on a lesser opponent and the Bills finally blew away a team that they should have blown up. Lastly, I gotta give a hats off to Fitz as he is such a gamer, knows he is on a 2-7 losing team and yet still plays his heart out!

Thanks. Look at last season to see that while Josh Allen's completion percentage was an abysmal 52.8% and he was more of a gunslinger in taking chances with a 10 passing TDs, 12 Interceptions. Meanwhile, Allen was hitting a lot of deep passes. In fact, the Buffalo Bills led the league in deep passes. Allen's win/loss record was 5-6. This season the deep passes are almost nonexistent while Allen is hitting more shorter passes. QB record of 6-3 and has thrown for 1919 yards 10 TDs, 7 INTs with a better completion percentage and QBR. Its my take that while Allen is in a more controlled QB in a sort of game manager type role this season. But this scheme is not him and not allowing him to be his best self and I think its holding him back. What I'm saying here is this OC is calling plays like he has that experienced QB behind center instead of a young inexperienced QB who needs an offense / QB guru that will allow him to develop into an elite QB. Daboll "might" be a good enough OC if he had an elite franchise QB. However, no QB is going to do well being forced to carry the team without a run game support like we saw against the Redskins. Teams need a balanced attack and especially teams with young, inexperienced QBs. Allen's win/loss record is 6-3 with many games he needed to make a comeback drive to win the game. I don't see him as being one of the worst in the league because he is 22nd in passing yards.

C'mon guys, look at whats happening here! This young QB is being developed by a guy who thought Nathan Peterman should start ahead of him!!! The entire Bills world wants to see Singletary get the ball more and what does this brainiac OC do? Has the young, inexperienced QB throw 41 times against a team that is #7 in passing yards allowed along with the #2 sacker in the league. Meanwhile, "Motor" went 8 rushes for 42 yards against a supposed "stacked" defense with a 5.3 yards per carry average. In the first half Allen had 19 passes, Singletary 3 rushes. WTF! Just pray that this team doesn't get behind in points over the next 7 games! Because this lame OC then forces the QB to carry the team by going pass happy and forgets the run game. He did it a lot last season too.

I'm pretty certain its been hammered over and over into Allen that he simply can't turn the ball over with interceptions. Allen is a "Brett Favre" style gunslinger that this regime has forced into a game manager type. What happened in the last two games? Washington 20 attempts passing vs 39 rushes. Allen 14 of 20 for 160 yards, 1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD. QBR of 110.4 Cleveland 41 pass attempts vs 20 rushes. Allen 21 of 41 for 266 yards, 2 rushing TDs. QBR of 73.8 Both opposing teams were "bad" due to their record of wins. However, lets look at the strength of both defenses. The Redskins defense was bad everywhere save their defensive line was stout with two first rounders and although they aren't that good stat wise at stopping the run, that line can be formidable! Case in point, Frank Gore a 1.4 YPC against them. Meanwhile "motor" ripped them for 20 carries, 95 yards, a 4.8 YPC average. The Browns strength was in their #2 in the NFL in sacks DE Miles Garrett and their #7th in the NFL in average passing yards allowed by a defense. This same defense was 28th in yards per carry allowed rushing, 27th in rushing yards allowed. Singletary only given 8 carries for 42 yards, a 5.2 YPC avg. Frank Gore 5 carries for 12 yards, a 2.4 YPC avg. Believe it or not the 1988 12-4 Buffalo Bills had 454 pass attempts, 528 rush attempts with Jim Kelly who had a 59.5 completion percentage. The Bills ran the ball more in those years and yet were more successful passing because it was a run first offense. 1989, 478 passing, 532 rushing. 1990 13-3 Bills 425 passing, 479 rushing. This run first offense helped develop QB Jim Kelly into a top passer in my point.

Should the Bills OC continue to go pass happy when the Bills are down by any amount of points as he did most of last season and against the Browns this past Sunday. I have my doubts that the 2019 Bills will win another game. Anything less then the playoffs at this point (6-3) this OC needs to go! Should the Bills lose the next two I hope they fire Daboll and promote Ken Dorsey before Dallas. Against Washington, 39 rushes 20 passes, WIN! Against Cleveland, 20 rushes, 41 passes, LOSS! Browns HC Freddie Kitchens realized that if the Browns got the lead it would cause Daboll to go pass happy into the teeth of his defense...and Daboll did exactly that. I think the overall consensus from Bills fans is that the Bills should run more and pass less!

So who is the failure in this game? The 2nd year QB with 19 games under his belt or the 6 year OC who is acting like a rookie who doesn't know how to set up an offense against a specific opponent. Its really kinda sad that first year HC who is one year removed from the Browns RB coach out foxed Brian Deboll. The 2-6 Browns beat the 6-2 Buffalo Bills because a moron is running the Bills offense. Its like Nathaniel Hackett never left!

You don't NEED Dalvin Cook to run in that Vikings offense. Although, It wouldn't hurt to have him. Its just that Vikes OC Gary Kubiak has had great success wherever he was an OC with his zone blocking scheme.

I get that running a scheme on game day is like playing a Grand masters chess match. So when an OC sees the opponent stacking the box like they do to stop the run. Then why not spread the formation out with 3 to 5 wideouts instead of running a tight formation or even an elephant/goal line offense? This causes so many mismatches as suddenly the defense must go nickle or dime depending. And when they do that one missed tackle means its off to the races. Chan Gailey made a living out of running out of a spread 4-5 wide shotgun formation with Spiller. Or, if the OC is obstinate about a tight formation, when running it have three offensive tackles on the line to force power some holes? Its what Cam Cameron used to do with the Ravens run game and opponents had no answer for it usually. Both sides knew they were going to run it and they couldn't stop it... also makes for some great play action. Thanks. What really frustrates me about the current offense is that it looks like this OC doesn't look at whats going on with the opposing defense he is facing. It's almost like he is the opposite of his mentor in Bill Bilichick, who endlessly studies opponents tendencies and film. The stats show that the Browns have the #7 defense in passing yards along with #2 player in the NFL in sacks with 10.0 in Miles Garrett. So, why on gods green earth would you have your young, inexperienced QB throw the ball 41 times against that defense. Its like he wants the QB thrown into the hottest fire he can find. Meanwhile, this same Browns defense was 27th against the run while being 28th in being yards per carry averaged against them. I just don't get it. You would think that any other OC would find a way to run every run play imaginable against the Browns while using the the full cast of RBs! It doesn't need to be Gore up the middle all game either. In any event, if Hauschka makes the 37 yarder, and the 53, its a 22-19 win.

It makes me think that this scheme would be best with a game manager at QB. But then, what happens with that QB when the team gets behind and the OC goes pass happy again? Last weeks offense against Washington when the Bills got the lead is to run more and pass less to the tune of 39 rushing attempts for 122 yards vs 14 of 20 passes for 146 yards. "Perfection" as the offense worked Singletary 20 rushes for 95 yards, a 4.8 YPC avg. 3 passes for 45 yards. This week against the Browns the Bills don't get the lead and the OC goes pass happy while forgetting the run game. Singletary only 8 rushes for 42 yards, a 5.3 YPC avg which was almost criminal with a better YPC avg. Allen is doing exactly what this HC wants him to do in limiting turnovers while throttling back Allen's gunslinger style. Daboll calls plays like he has an elite QB behind center and not a 2nd year, young, inexperienced still developing QB. Plus he throws out a game plan that works when the team gets behind in points in any amount. He did this most of last season when the team got behind on the scoreboard too. When you look at Brian Daboll's history in the NFL you realize there is a real reason why he has never fielded a passing offense better then 23rd in passing yards 6 yrs as an NFL OC with 4 different teams. I think McD hired Daboll thinking he was getting another Bill O'Brian (who can make almost any QB look good) and instead hired a Nathaniel Hackett who needs an experienced, veteran QB to run his plays. Think Orton. If this team with a "going pass happy offense" when the Bills don't get a lead...this team might not win another game. Dolphins, Denver, Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New England, NY Jets. After last weeks game i thought McD had a talk with Daboll and now realize he didn't. This OC needs to go!

Starting to think that last week was an anomaly with so few penalties and this week was almost back to normal suckatude with 7 for 40 yards. They had been averaging 8.5 penalties a game until last week. This team is just not good enough to overcome these stupid mental mistakes
