Who is your favorite current Buffalo Bill and why?
Nihilarian replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LORAX tops my list! From special teams to the pro bowl and the MVP of the pro bowl. In my view his veteran leadership epitomizes what you want in a team player. I was an Allen guy before the draft and still think he will be the best of the bunch. Smoke, Beasley, Knox, Feliciano, Ford, Tre, Milano, Oliver and so many others. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. -
What % do you think we have a chance of winning?

That #1 Ravens run game works right into the Bills weakest area as the Bills are 14th in rush yards allowed. The Ravens are averaging 5.6 yards per rush attempt. I'm really hoping we don't see another roll over in like what happened to the Rams as their run defense is about the same as Buffalo stat wise. The Ravens got the lead and never looked back. The Rams only rushed for 22 yards on 9 carries and went pass happy with 37 pass attempts, 0 TDs, 2 INTs. The Bills need to do exactly what they did against the Cowboys and get the run game going! Find a way to stop that #1 rush offense and make them pass. Then get the pass rush working while they attempt to throw and go pass happy. Whats crazy is that Dallas had a very good passing offense and they couldn't get it working correctly because they didn't even try to run the ball after their first drive in the 3rd quarter. The Bills also need lady luck on their side with the turnovers, make them fumble and get interceptions while not turning the ball over themselves. Also, limiting the penalties. This team has been gaining confidence over the last three wins and the Bills OC Brian Daboll has been doing a great job since going up in the booth. Hope they keep the win streak going! -
On another note, Perry Fewell will be the new interim head coach of the Panthers. Funny thing is the 2015 Carolina Panthers were 15-1 and went to the SB... So many of those coaching changes I suggested will depend on how those teams finish the season.examples, Miami 3-9 with Jets, Giants, Bengals, Pats. winning most of them and the HC might just keep his job. NY Jets 4-8 with Miami, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Bills. Only 5 wins in 2019 might get Gase fired.

oops, forgot about da cowpies! Anything less then anything but a big run in the playoffs and Jason Garrett is a gonner.

Firing the guy was a mistake IMHO. He will have a job asap. This firing is the first of many too. Miami Jets Cleveland Cincy Jacksonville Denver Chargers Giants Redskins Detroit Atlanta all could be looking at hiring a new HC.

Great read, love this stuff! It looked like Josh was changing the play call at the line quite often against Dallas and the result was usually good. The last few games it also looked like Brian Daboll has stuck with the run game even when the team got behind in points. Thinking back on those late 80's, early 90s' offenses it reminded me what helped make that offense work so well was the run game as Thurman Thomas was about 70% of the offense in running, receiving. Thurman's ability to read and hit the cutback hole was unreal and it makes me wonder if it would be a good idea to incorporate Ole Teds version of the Redskins "counter trey" run scheme in which the O line takes one step one way and reverts the other way. This makes the defense hesitate briefly and once they commit Thurman is hitting that hole and is gaining big yards. Most of those glory years Thurman was also the teams second leading receiver behind Andre Reed with more receptions then James Lofton, Don Beebe. Everyone made a big deal about the K-gun offense and yet those teams usually ran the ball more then they threw it. 1988, 454 passing attempts vs 528 rushing attempts. 1989, 478 vs 532. 1990 with the #1 scoring offense in the NFL 425 vs 479. In 1991, 516 passing vs 505 rushing with the the Bills offense #4 in passing yards and #1 in rushing yards. Thurman Thomas 1407 yards rushing, 631 yards receiving gave him over 2000 yards of offense that season. 1992, 509 attempts passing, 549 attempts rushing. Thomas over 2000 yards again with 1487 yards rushing, 626 yards receiving. 1993, 497 attempts passing, 550 attempts rushing. Backup RB Kenneth Davis was also a big part of that Bills offense as he would spell Thurman without a huge drop off much like Singletary, Gore. With Daboll up in the booth and the play calling looking so much better this years offense should see improvements in the passing stats going forward.

Week 13 Around the League Thread

That 49ers #1 defense already with the hands on their hips and panting breathlessly... The Ravens are just so fast with that offense, jeez -
I agree. Gotta give it up to Daboll who has looked like a really good OC the past few weeks! Being up in the booth might have been the answer for him to see and read the defense and relay it to Josh. I thought for sure if the Bills had gotten behind in this game that Daboll would go pass happy, and he didn't. Very well called game plan and execution by the players. Hats off to Dabs! Josh's nickname for him.
