  1. Just read that the kid had concussion problems in college, and this recent concussion is more serious then they first thought. What happens is after suffering a concussion you become more susceptible to getting them, and the more you get the more chance of a long term problem. Lets hope for the best for Karlos going forward.
  2. There is just so much that can improve on this team, and stating they are "the same old Bills" just doesn't fit just yet. The Bills need to get their stars back from injuries, and their O line coach back from suspension. Then the offense might just be able to be a force running the ball which will take the heat off the Bills QB in the first half. That young QB with just five NFL starts can continue to get better every game provided he is properly protected. Rex Ryan can stop trying to run a bunch of different schemes, and just do what he does best and run his overload blitz while allowing his front four to go crazy going after the QB. Mike Pettine ran Rex Ryan's defense in 2013, and he had great success getting to the QB. So should Ryan. This upcoming game against the Bengals will show if this Bills team is ready to take on a top team that could be the first in the playoffs. The Bengals have no holes that I can see, and are undefeated this year.
  3. We don't know that yet. He is looking more like Russell Wilson then he is Colin Kaepernick / RG3 right now. The kid found a way to win this week!! Any rookie QB drafted in the first round would need to also go through growing pains, and that first rounder might be better spent on a OT. Can't we just part with the thought that after your eternal desire for Talleywhacker, and Ryan Mallett that you don't know as much about the QB position then you think you do!
  4. Buffalo Barbarian. Its not the QB's fault the team isn't playing up to its ability just yet. A bunch of injuries to its star players, and in the first year of the Rex Ryan experiment. I don't think anyone is elated about the season so far, and most are just happy the team is 3-2, and still in position to do something this year. This is a new coaching staff, and many things will still need to be worked out before having a panic attack. I'm fairly certain that the GM, and coaching staff are focusing a keen eye on the offensive line and will resolve to obtain what they need to make that power run game work. The starting QB just played in his fifth NFL game and is still a work in progress, as are the the players to the schemes. All three phases of this years team can get better, and I think they will. Just be happy the team is only one game out of first place! The Bills could be the 1-4 Ravens, the 1-3 Dolphins, the 1-4 Texans, the 1-4 Jags, the 1-4 Chiefs, the 0-5 Lions, the 1-4 Saints, the 1-4 49ers. Don't worry, be happy for at least another six days
  5. Why even say this, its meaningless. Beckham is far from a bust in any sense of the word. Despite missing four games last year the kid still had 91 rec for 1305 yards, 12 TD's. phenomenal !! While I have yet to call Sammy a bust. Just take a look at his stats this year vs Beckham's. Sammy in three games 13 rec for 99 yards, 1 TD. Beckham had more then that in this last game by the third quarter. Beckham four games 24 rec for 307 yards 2 TD's all while having the opposing defense roll coverage's his way to try and take him out of the game, and not be just a decoy. Am I satisfied with Sammy Watkins performance since being drafted, HECK NO, because I expect greatness from a player the team spent two firsts, and a 4th rounder on. Being a decoy will never make him great or get him into the hall.
  6. Its so easy to make excuses about lack of talent at the RB position or the defense they faced. The bigger issue is about the talent on the offensive line that is and has been lacking for years. Wanna look at LeSean McCoy stats even when healthy? The 6 million dollar RB has 43 rushes for 143 yards 0 TD's in three games played equals 47.6 yards per game, and that equals 3.25 ypc avg. While Karlos Williams has looked brilliant in relief of McCoy in games, and even had a good game against Miami. Lets look at what he did against the NY Giants as the starter, an abysmal 18 rushes for 40 yards for a 2.2 ypc avg 0 TD. Lots of teams stack the box to stop the run and yet teams still find a way to run on them. Also, its important to watch the game, and visually see for yourself if there are holes for the RB to hit or not. Most of the time this year its been or not.
  7. At what point? OTOH, oh I dunno, lets go with once Tyrod Taylor has more then five games of NFL experience, and actually has a decent pocket to stand in and deliver every pass in the playbook. Aside from the injuries it can't be easy to be great in a power run offense that isn't working
  8. So, basically what you are saying is that the Bills don't really have a viable #1 WR that can help pull all the coverage their way if Sammy isn't on the field. Not the #2 pick at WR In Robert Woods nor the 6 million dollar WR in Percy Harvin. Lets not even discuss how often Watkins has been battling injuries over the last two seasons. While he was almost never 100% last season, and now has missed games this year. The real issue in my view is Sammy the type of WR who can take over a game and put up huge numbers like a superstar WR should? The answer is, so far, not really. Or is his real use as a decoy to draw double coverage while not really earning that double coverage? Three draft picks used for this one player, and its not out of the world of reality to question his actual worth at this time. Sammy Watkins will always be compared to Odell Beckham Jr, and look at tonight while being double covered with a lot of the coverage's attempting to take Beckham out of the game, and yet so far tonight 7 rec for 121 yards, 1 TD. Just saying.
  9. The rushing stats look good because the QB was the leading rusher with 8 for 76, one TD Without the QB rushing 127 - 76= 51 yards on 20 rushes, and that equals 2.55 ypc avg instead of the 4.5 avg per rush. Then take away that Taylor running TD, and its a loss. The OP is right, "and our run blocking is non existent" The O line was the biggest area of need this last off season, and they didn't do enough to build a good enough unit for the power run blocking scheme this OC wants to run. The Bills are exceedingly lucky to have Tyrod Taylor!
  10. Lets hope the Bills learn something from this game
  11. It is a huge deal IMO. The Bills gave the Giants 7 first downs last game, and gave back two TD's. Lets hope they can keep this up!!
  12. In reference to #1 7-for 62 was a far cry from the 7 first downs the defense gave the Giants last game The push ups worked!!
  13. Perhaps overlooked, but those push ups worked !! This game 7 for 62 yards, and two less then Tenn had= they didn't give the game away with stupid mistakes!
  14. Field position can win a game
  15. Considering this is a new offense to the Bills players, and Taylor was playing in his fifth start. Then the limited talent on the line, and all the injuries... i'm just happy with the win!
  16. The Bills won a game on the road that they really needed to win to stay legit in the division. A win is a win!! I'm watching the Dallas-Patriot game, and the Cowboys are really giving Tom Brady fits while hitting him a bunch. Makes me wonder why the Bills played the scheme they played against Brady
  17. K-9, on 08 Oct 2015 - 10:02 PM, said: 11 hurries might be damned good for an average team, but not for one that has 28% of its payroll tied up in its front four. Like I said this game was against the Colts where it looked like they blitzed a ton, and it was more the better coverage that caused Luck to look so bad. To put those pressures in better context currently the Buffalo Bills are 19th in sacks with seven, and Denver is leading the NFL with 18. The Bills sack percentage is currently 27th out of 32. Last season they ended the year at #1 out of 32 with 54 sacks against 559 pass attempts with a sack percentage of 8.8. This is a huge difference between last years defense and this years so far! Now lets discuss the NE game. This isn't the very first time ever the Bills have faced Brady, or a QB that can get the ball out quickly. ooohh under 2 seconds, whatever will we do??? Rex Ryan played a soft cover defense that game, and was roasted for it! "Rex Ryan, Dennis Thurman and defensive coaching staff: Ryan told his team that this loss was on his shoulders, and so he's a natural place to start in the "down" column. Ryan's defensive game plan couldn't put pressure on Tom Brady-- the Bills disrupted (a sack, batted ball, passed defense or interception) only 9.8 percent of Brady's dropbacks, a lower rate than in any of the Bills' 2014 games -- and he never seemed to have an effective plan for stopping either Rob Gronkowski or Julian Edelman." http://espn.go.com/b...defensive-staff Allow me to reiterate, Nihilarian, on 08 Oct 2015 - 12:38 PM, said:
  18. Man, Hopkins a monster WR wow, blown coverage by the Colts...TD!
  19. Better for Houston as Hoyer looks to have the hot hand. Mallett looking grumpy on the sidelines.
  20. I'm just happy Ryan is attempting to fix this penalty problem. Take away those 7 first downs, and give back those two TD's, and Eli isn't happy.
  21. Awesome first half ending with that Hoyer hail Mary TD! Foster in concussion protocol
  22. Those 11 hurries were for the entire team, and not one player. Just FYI, in four games played. Jerry Hughes 5 hurries-Mario Williams 4 hurries-Marcell Dareus 3 hurries- Kyle Williams 2. That's 14 hurries for arguably the leagues best D line. To put that in context KC LBer Justin Houston has fourteen by himself after four games so far this year. The bigger point is, and that I've been attempting to covey is that the Bills have some of the very best defensive line players in the NFL, and they themselves are saying that they are not happy with the current scheme! They say they would prefer to just rush the passer. I happen to agree with them as I would like to see the Bills just blitz that front four more often, and have Ryan run his overload blitz more often too. Dunno why this continues to elude you. I can see the animosity growing with the quibbling over minor things, and I doubt that anything I post will ever get through. So... Go Bills!
  23. I wonder if BB still wants the Bills to trade for Mallett?
  24. Only 11 pressures out of the 30 blitzes was the larger point that was overlooked. Perhaps this was also missed, " As far as Dareus is concerned, simpler is better. He has felt that since training camp, when he complained publicly about not seeing eye-to-eye with how he was being coached. “We play better up front when they just let us go,” Dareus said Wednesday. “... Now we have more responsibilities and more things going here and there. It’s just playing inside the defense and playing under control, so that the blitzing schemes and everything fit perfectly." Yea, I agree. It makes little sense to keep discussing this...
