Dunno why the Bills just don't keep running the ball, and run the read option. If the guy can't find an open receiver just run it -

That entire red zone series was bad from the start with McCoy at QB and Woods hitting Woods with the ball as he ran by, and McCoy recovering. -

32 gig of ram, GTX 980 video card and I'm getting freezing too. This streaming is a stupid idea! -
God forbid the guy starts looking like RG3 or Colin Kaepernick. Because if he even comes close to that bad the torches, and pitchforks will be out instantly. What we have here is neither QB is really that bad or that good at this point because both players are still developing. The bigger picture I tried to paint is that the QB's surrounding cast is still not very good, and we won't possibly see either one elevate themselves into a top starter until the surrounding cast is upgraded. Like with anything else in life practice makes perfect, and its so difficult to win games when so many starters are out with injuries. How does either QB get into a rhythm with any of the star skill players when they are not on the field.

Man, 30 pages! The hunyucks of the world will always find stuff to hyper criticize about, and focus their vengeance upon! Some of it is worthy, and some not! I must say I can be a critical hunyuck just much as the next guy should the Bills QB be making the money Colin Kaepernick is making, and playing as badly as he is playing. 13 of 24 for 124 yards in the entire game. But was it all on him? Pretty much Things could be far worse in Buffalo. That criticism might also be worthy if the QB were the only singular value in the equation. It just so happens that he is not, and is dependent on 10 other individuals on the field to do their jobs at a high level! If that weren't enough he is also fully dependent on the staff that sets up the game plan, and calls in the plays dependent on what the opposing team is doing to stop him. I'd say in this game that 49er team, and staff is just about as much to blame. SF 15 rushes vs 41 for Seattle. Of course the 49ers will stick with Kaepernick, as his backup in Blaine Gabbert BTW, Star RB LeSean McCoy who can usually make something out of nothing has run the ball 60 times so far this year, and lost yards in 15 of those carries. What does that tell you about the blocking?

What gets me is the owner Jerry Jones always trying to amp up the situation by saying ridiculous things like "Bandon Weeden throws the prettiest ball I've ever seen. Yet the reason they are going to Cassel is because Weeden is 0-9 in his last NFL starts, and unless the Cowboys have installed a New England type offense I don't see Cassel winning in Dallas either. Mainly because the two good years Cassel had at QB were with the Patriots, and with the Chiefs the one year ex Patriot signal caller Charlie Weis was running the offense in KC. Other then those two years Cassel was useless. I'm glad he is long gone from Buffalo because as long as he was here EJ wasn't going to get any playing experience. That and the Bills play the Patriots again with Cassel on the team... That entire story is a joke. The Cowboys hope to be more aggressive with Cassel? What, by throwing 5 yard outs all game? Cassel was Mr. Meh here in Buffalo, and I don't see him suddenly becoming a gunslinger in Dallas. However TE Jason Witten, and the RB's might get a lot more targets.

Do we have to root for the Pats vs Jets Sunday?
Nihilarian replied to Gasjuggler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm Rooting for the Jets to kick Tom Brady's arse big time, and this is a game the Jets can really win with running Chris Ivory down their throats, Divisional games can be tough to gauge sometimes, and it just might be one of those games. Jets are 8.5 point underdogs, and I'd say take the Jets! -

That is exactly right Lynch usually runs with three tacklers on him, and gets 8 yards. Wilson manages to make so much out of so little sometimes -
Jets are the new Bullies in the AFC East

I gotta say I was never in the playoffs camp as this team simply did not build the offensive up enough to properly run Greg Romans power run scheme. IMO While the left side of the line improved a lot the right side is still quite bad. The run game looks so good because the QB was the leading rusher in the Tennessee game, and he runs quite a bit. Then both McCoy, Karlos are making the line look better then it really is with their moves, and power Going into this season thinking that this years defense was going to be special, as in 85 Bears special. This years defense is not only not special, its not even that good in any aspect. This years defense is trying to run soft coverage schemes, and is just not getting any pressure on the QB. Against the Bengals that 2014 #1 team in sacks was only able to get one stinking lousy pressure on QB Andy Dalton The special teams stinks too, as in another area where the team was one of the best is now only mediocre at 20th or so, and if not for the punter being the MVP of almost every game they would be even worse. Then you have all the injuries to the skill players #1 WR Watkins seems like he is always injured, #2 WR Percy Harvin is now gone for who knows how long. #4 WR Marquise Goodwin on IR. RB's McCoy still battling an injury, and Karlos Williams still out in concussion protocol. The latter might be a continuing problem considering the way the guy runs. If all that weren't enough then there is the league leading penalty situation with this team that keeps shooting themselves in the foot with game after game. Murderers row coming up after the bye week with three straight AFC East games. week 9 Miami at home, week 10 @ Jets, week 11 @ NE At this point its looking more like 8-8, and so much will still depend on "IF" Rex Ryan can fix his defense, and "IF" he can fix the penalty situation! And "IF" he can fix the special teams by wedging his foot squarely up Crossman's arse! -

Man, looks like Trent Baalke won the power struggle in San Fran, but for how long? 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is really stinking up this game -
I really questioned signing this player for 6 mill per as he really hasn't done anything ever as a WR mostly because he has never had a 1000 yard season receiving or more then 6 TD's. But then after watching him play with Buffalo I changed my mind thinking he would be worth the money if he can stay healthy. It must be so difficult as a pro player to be let down by your body year after year. I sure hope this isn't what the future holds for Sammy Watkins. Starting to look that way though. Good article, I can relate.

Article: Why I Drafted Jay Cutler
Nihilarian replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man that #1. I wonder if you asked Marv now if he would still deem the cost to high. Some context is needed when you look back at those godawful Bills years. The Bills owner really had no clue anymore, and apparently didn't trust many people. So he hired an old friend who he sought out and asked him to be his GM. Marv was a HoF HC but never meant to be an NFL GM. Marv took the GM job probably thinking he could be the head coach again, and Ralph Wilson told he that wasn't going to happen. That became news worthy which suggests he was interested in being the HC again. What led up to the Whitner pick is interesting because Whitner was a reach after the Raiders took S Michael Huff the pick just before the Bills pick. A safety was a basically a necessity after Marv got rid of a player he deemed to greedy meme type player in S Laywer Milloy. What I'm kind of bothered by is that everyone seems to be so upset with the Whitner pick they forget the Bills traded back up into the first round and took a complete waste of a pick in DT John McCargo. Shades of Aaron Maybin on that one. Some Bills fans need to let the Whitner pick go... seriously the guy is still playing in the NFL after all these years. Made the pro bowl three years in a row on a top defense that went to the SB. Besides, He didn't choose to be picked #8 overall. Marv Levy knew what he wanted to build in Buffalo as the new GM. The problem was he went about it all the wrong way, and was guided by some really stupid people in the draft process. Plus, he made the worst choice of all in picking Dick Jauron as his HC. I'll take one bad draft pick over four years of bad teams any day! -
Article: Why I Drafted Jay Cutler
Nihilarian replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can only wonder how good Cutler would have been if he had stayed on one team and been coached by a decent OC, QB coach most of his career. Bears OC Mike Martz Ted Sundquist makes it sound like he and Mike Heimerdinger were the Brains on that Broncos staff, and I think that's far from the truth. That was Sundquist's only stint as an NFL GM. Shanahan had all the power on that team. Anyway, Cutler was amazing at Vanderbilt having that team playing in the SEC, and putting up the numbers like he did surrounded by a bunch of nobody's. Like his teammate John Lynch said, "If this guy can take a bunch of future doctors and lawyers and have them competing against the Florida Gators, this guy is a stud." -
Looks like this could be the same type of injury that has plagued his career. "Although Ryan said that Harvin's hip isn't the issue, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora believes it might be. La Canfora reported on Sunday that the team is fearing a "long-term absence." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25348731/percy-harvin-misses-london-trip-for-personal-reasons-bills-being-mum

Players asking to be used differently (Sammy, DL)
Nihilarian replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any glimmer of light huh? The only team that the Bengals scored more on was KC by two points. 34 to 21 While the Bills managed to take out AJ Green, Tyler Eifert to a degree. The Bengals still put up 355 yards of offense, and Dalton threw for 3 TD's, no INT's. The Bills lost in all three aspects of that game, and the Bengals had the better offense, defense, and special teams. Then the Bills had 8 penalties for 93 yards vs 3 for 20 yards. One team was a well disciplined solid team that made few mistakes, and the other team was Buffalo. -
6-3 is right there for the taking!
Nihilarian replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While the optimism is great! The reality is that the Bills defense was only mediocre with Aaron Williams, Kyle Williams, and unless Rex Ryan gets over his stupidity of running coverage schemes rather then blitzes the defense will probably only get worse. The offense continues to be injury riddled, and we don't know the status of the skill players Karlos Williams, Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin or if Shady McCoy can stay healthy. Then, as bad as Henderson was playing RT he is still better then Kounandjio. Whats up with Tyrod Taylor with his injury and will playing on it this Sunday Aggravate it? Then, I can see the Bills beating the Jags mostly because they are dealing with injuries to their starting TE, WR, and the Bills seem to be able to take away the opposing teams #1 WR. It really all depends if Rex Ryan continues to run his stank coverage defensive scheme. OTOH, The Dolphins seem to have found some new resolve under interim HC Dan Campbell, and the Bills haven't won a home game so far this year RB Miller played better last week which took heat off Tallywhacker. Toss up! The NY JESTS who currently have the #1 defense in the league, and have a top ten offense. If Rex can't get his defense to stop the QB's who can get the ball out quickly, then he won't stop Fitz. RB Chris Ivory is the #3 RB in yards so far, and WR Brandon Marshall seems to have found new life in NY. Advantage Jets Then @ NE again with WR Brandon LaFell back on offense. Really everything is dependent on mostly two things, injuries, and Rex Ryan's stubbornness with his defense. Is the man working to get fired from Buffalo so he can still make his 5 mill per Buffalo, and get a different job sorta like Marrone did? I really have no answer as to why Rex Ryan's brain suddenly loves soft coverage schemes over his past overload blitz scheme. Ryan says sacks don't matter, wins matter. Well sacks and wins go hand in hand in my view simply because if you are beating the hell out of the other teams QB, and leading the NFL in sacks that will help win games. Sacks matter, as does creating havoc while getting pressure on the QB. Its a passing league right? Well then the more you can harass the other teams QB, and get pressure on him the better for the defense. The Eagles do not have better talent on their defense, and yet their scheme got to Eli Manning, and thus held the Giants to only 7 points. -

Percy Harvin absent with mystery personal issue http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000562212/article/percy-harvin-absent-with-mystery-personal-issue The NFL’s concussion protocol consists of a three-step process that a player must go through before being cleared to return. There is no specific timetable listed, as “each player and each concussion is unique,” the protocol states. A look at the three steps: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article35258697.html In that baseline exam they ask the player questions and watch his response "These baseline tests and post-injury tests are computerized assessments that measure Reaction Time, Memory Capacity, Speed of Mental Processing, and Executive Functioning of the brain. They also record baseline concussion symptoms and provide extensive information about the athlete's history with concussions." http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/basics/baseline_testing.html Read more here: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article35258697.html#storylink=cpy -
What is happening on Defense?
Nihilarian replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or Rex could try Chuck Pagano's special trick punt play every series. The only person the team had trained to snap the ball got hurt, and the team ran it anyway.
