On the face of it, it's no different. I said at the time, Roman was a convenient scapegoat. Some of the comments from Shady recently make it sound like the issue with Roman was personal and not schematic. Maybe Lynn relates to players better, especially having played the game at the top level before. Shouldn't matter too much but apparently it does. I didn't want Roman gone, same way I don't want Lynn gone. I can't knock Lynn for what he's done if I liked what Roman did. Anthony Lynn isn't a part of the problem. I'm okay with giving him the time to prove that he's part of the solution on the evidence gained in the past 13 games.

He's running another playbook to the point of getting enough guys open that we're picking Tyrod to pieces for missing them HC might be premature but I'm reasonably comfortable with him staying as OC for a while. Besides the odd stupid play call and a few rough patches in situational awareness, I think he's done a decent job.

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Two things; why does everything doom a team for 4-5 years? Also, how can you take issue with drafting good players? I'd really hate to end up with an Earl Thomas calibre player in the early teens. -
Andy Reid coach of year?
Blokestradamus replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd give it to Adam Gase, no question about it. Del Rio and Reid both have good shouts for it but nobody saw the Dolphins making the postseason. -
Anybody Have A Change Of Heart About Gilmore?
Blokestradamus replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On Saturday, he was far from the only culprit. That said, that 'effort' was !@#$ing atrocious. Had perfect position and just did nothing. I've not seen the PFF from Saturday yet. I know that prior to the game, Darby and Gilmore had 8 missed tackles each. Overall for the team this season, the number is close to 100. I assume that it's not being taught right or stressed by coaches because it's a team-wide issue. -
Finally, someone gets me

He's still only 23 so he may not be at his absolute ceiling yet either. A testament to both Aaron Kromer and Cyrus himself. Spent the past two offseasons working with LeCharles Bentley at his academy. You don't pack up and go live somewhere else for weeks during your time off unless you care about getting better at your craft.

Anybody Have A Change Of Heart About Gilmore?
Blokestradamus replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most tackles isn't entirely telling the story with CB's in run support. Bad corners can rack up tackles after the catch pretty easily. In recent years, I'd probably say someone like Charles Tillman. Currently in the NFL, not many good ones spring to mind. -
Who should sit next week?
Blokestradamus replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reggie Bush. In fact, just pack his bags tomorrow and ban him from the state of New York. Honestly, let Cyrus stay at LT next week. Glenn to IR, Ola as the swing tackle. IR for McCray, let Albright or Valles get a game. I'd honestly bench Preston and let Humber get a crack with the starting D. If Gilmore has a concussion, maybe give Charles Gaines a whirl. Let him cover boundary/nickel, start Seymour at RCB. -
If the plan is to let him play LT, switch Cordy to RT, what would be fair compensation for his services? Do you try to pay him like a middle of the pack RT? Would he even go for that? If they strike now, it's a numbers game. If they wait, no way they could retain him cheap if he keeps on improving.

Merry Christmas One and All
Blokestradamus replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Merry Christmas from across the pond. It's about 4:30am here so technically Christmas already. I hope you all enjoy what Santa brings you. Alas, all he's giving me is a brutal hangover. -
I will be the first to admit it. After the beach chair **** and the Cutler selling out stuff, I hated Kromer's appointment. Rat of a human being. That said, the progression on the OL has been really impressive. Miller, Cyrus, Groy. Even Mills isn't quite the shitbag he was in Chicago. I would fight tooth and nail to keep Kromer.

We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What
Blokestradamus replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was comfortable with Reggie as a three-downer pre-injury. If your LB is running 40 yards, much like your OL, you're !@#$ed. In a zone drop heavy scheme, Reggie should be fine. Current scheme, he's a good pick. That might not be the case under another DC/HC. Jury is out for now until we know roles/responsibilities going forward. -
All about the weight-bearing post leg. At RT, the weight goes through the bad knee, stops him being comfortable gaining depth. At LT, less of an issue. I didn't like the Glenn at RT idea much but I'd give it a go if Kromer & co decided it was the best laid plan for 2017.

We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What

I get it, my friend. Once we talk about nickel packages and beyond, Reggie has something of a black mark against his name. Pre-ACL, I thought he was a 3-down LB. Afterwards, it's up in the air. It was an injury that raises questions about his long term 3-down longevity. Still adore Reggie but the recovery is key. Has to be clean. -

The difference is willingness. Stephon, God bless him, is a tad contact-phobic. Darby is a touch reckless, diving into contact a bit. Technique-wise, he's much more proficient. -
I will give the Bills credit. They performed one form tackle all game. It was Zach on Jarvis. That showed him!

The bonkers bit about this? Darby (in 250 less snaps), 7 missed tackles. Gilmore, 7 missed tackles. That's before today, according to PFF. Hand on my heart, they might be generous on Darby's MT's. possibly had 4 a couple weeks ago vs PIT, credit for 2. -
We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What

I can see both Rex being fired and Tyrod staying. Honestly, not the worst thing that could happen. In the grand scheme of accountability, I'd rather jettison the moron that promised playoffs and a dominant D than the guy that's diligently working to make things happen. Big advocate of the 4-3. Hughes at RDE, Shaq at LDE (suits being that big base end). Zach at WLB, Reggie at MIke, Preston at SAM. Work out which LB comes out in nickel/dime (Reggie until proven otherwise). As I said earlier, Gilmore can walk, just promise me you rebuild the secondary in the image of the right lord reverend Gus Bradley. Get me a versatile FS (Jamal Adams is the wet dream). I really am subscribing to the idea that Tyrod can be enough, even at $16m+ per year. As long as we keep digging for gold in the draft and aren't content with Tyrod at QB, I'm happy to procedd as is. -

Shady is an elite talent, there's absolutely no doubt it about. That dude makes cuts that a surgeon would be envious of. It's hard to discount what Tyrod does for the run game though. He keeps that end man on the LOS honest. The horrible closet racist Alex Kirby said it best: @AlexJKirby Game planning for Tyrod and this offense is an absolute pain in the ass, and I know Belichick would love it if they went back to pro style. Like it or not (I don't particularly), Tyrod adds a dimension that many can't. Whether he's the pure passer we want or not, his legs and the option game provides something that teams hate to game plan against. I'd rather a consistent 250-300 yard passer but Tyrod can win in this league. Today proved it. Just give him a D that can keep things tight and he can be 'enough'. Not that franchise guy we all imagined but enough to make offense happen with, -

I think, within the organisation, the hope is that Kolby Listenbee can be that guy. I think they chose to redshirt him effectively, cure everything that ails him. That's the kind of skill set Tyrod needs to thrive. We know he can throw deep to Sammy but getting some chemistry with Listenbee would be ideal. Especially as he's dirt cheap for another 3 years. -

Blokestradamus replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In certain areas, he has. His spatial awareness seems to be better, he actually makes sideline catches nicely. I'm just wanting that speed to lift the top off and he really struggles unless he's hit perfectly in stride. I can find a possession receiver in the draft for peanuts. Maybe keeping Tyrod and giving him John Ross isn't the worst idea, that kid is baby DeSean Jackson. -

Got to draft one. Need to buy another lottery ticket because I'm not convinced that the long-term answer is on the roster. Replacing Goodwin is a must. Permit me to use an analogy on his ball tracking skills - he couldn't find his colon if his head was stuck up his arse
