Two things, one of which I hate to break to you: 1 - Stephon Gilmore is represented by Jason Chayut of SportStars. 2 - Eugene Parker passed away last year.

Chan put everything into his time with the Bills. Watching him leave was tough to watch, he truly cared about the team and the guys he was in charge of. He just wasn't afforded enough talent ever be better than middle of the road. A really good guy that I'll always have respect for. I hope he enjoys his retirement.

Mario Williams to be cut by Dolphins in offseason

Well, I think I'll concede that I was wrong on what Mario had left. Enjoy retirement, Mario. -

I am on a 16-week mission to convert people into "Homies for Mahomes". Bye bye, Church of Tyrod. -
For comparison's sake, Teddy Bridgewater came in at 6'2", 214 at the Combine. He got a pass due to weight loss mid-season due to a dental complication. I think he'll be close to that. As long as he doesn't compound coming in short/light with tiny hands, I doubt it'll put most teams off him.

Video of the TD, for those not watching - https://twitter.com/CBSSports/status/814915530087874561 Hit that man with a Taywan Taylor move. That's nasty.

I have some size thresholds that I like my guys to hit. As long as he comes in at 6'2" and 215 pounds, he'll be fine for me. He doesn't play small which helps with his projection. I think he'll be asked to run less in the NFL so I'm less worried about him absorbing hits. He's proven fairly durable as is.

Bug Howard. He's going to be a big dude dunking on all those smart white kids

The theory of Peppers is better than the practical application. Whatever you're drafting him to be, it's not what he's played this year. I think he's had about 6 coverage reps and he's !@#$ed most of them up One of those players that I've become less enamoured with the more I've watched him. Fantastic athlete but not the slightest clue how the hell I use him.

If we pass on Jabrill Peppers, I buy my GM a beer. That right there is fools gold, especially that early. Take a shot at a QB if you have the opportunity and you think he's got the talent. I'm not entirely sold on Watson but I'm not going to argue with taking him. As long as there's a better plan in place than the one for EJ.

Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson staying for his senior year. Well, that's !@#$ed up my plans for April. -
I missed it too. I edited the quote, just for you

Hard pressed to find a better combination than this. Don't forget that Shanahan is working under Dan Quinn so he's got an inside track on Bradley as a man and as a coach right there.

HC Smith, OC LaFleur, DC Seto
Blokestradamus replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm actually intrigued by Rocky Seto. His work with teaching tackle technique in Seattle alone makes him someone I could look into. Actually turned a job down in Buffalo in 2006. -
I'd certainly pay Greg the Leg a nice chunk of money. Rebounded from a poor 2015. His 2016 fits my rule of thumb to the number. Plus he's got the ability to kick touchbacks if needed. Prior to the XP rule change, I would've snapped up Hauschka but he's had his wobbles recently. If you can get him cheaper than Carp as perceived damaged goods, I'd take a gamble on him. I'd prefer to draft one, or at least bring in the right UDFA to compete with a vet. Couple of guys I have my eye on but I'll know more when I dig into them.

Rule of thumb for me is: Inside 40 - should be automatic 41-50 - 75% conversion rate 50+ - better than 50% is good Things like weather can alter things. Bad snaps/holds can come into play. Stats alone without checking for that kind of context is a risky business. Bottom line is, Dan has missed 12 kicks in 2 seasons that I consider automatic. 11 XP's but only 1 FG from within 40, which is strange. He's probably psyched himself out with this stuff now. I can't spend nearly $3m next year on a guy that just struggles making the routine stuff.

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects

You might be right on the longevity issue. Safety play is a cruel and sometimes unforgiving mistress. I really don't know how much I put into it, mainly because a freak injury could render any pick useless at any position, but I respect the reasoning you put behind it. Same reason why signing any non-elite RB to a sizable 2nd deal is stupid. Someone like Adams is slightly murky waters. As Kirby said, he might be BPA that happens to play in a need position. While I'm not too far along in my draft deliberations yet, I feel pretty sure that Adams will be a top 10 player for me, if not top 5. I think he's close to that elite tier that I couldn't pass up. Could be a moot point in the end, might be off the board, who knows. It's not like I want just any old safety, I'm not chasing the position if Adams is gone. It's always interesting to find differing opinions to my own on roster construction. It's an ever-changing opinion of mine, you've definitely given me some food for thought. I can honestly say that I've not seen a snap of Texas football all year. I know he's a big bugger, that's about it. -

I look more at snap impact more than anything else. In my estimations, maybe two OT prospects I'd play from Day 1, neither I expect to be more than average as rookies. If they both go before we pick, I'd consider another OT a reach. Factoring in Jerry and Shaq, any edge rusher is likely playing no more than 30-50% of snaps. With a QB, if Tyrod stays, no team is paying a QB that money to ditch him in a few games. That QB might not play until year 3. If they let Tyrod walk, different story. Again, depends on how the board falls. If they let Gilmore walk and consider CB, there's plenty of guys to consider early. Might be the smartest move long term to take this route. 100% of snaps potential impact, teams pass enough that he could be an impact player. Same with WR, there's probably 4 guys I could justify grabbing in the 1st this year that could be a high impact contributor. My personal philosophy is, you take elite talent when you can. If I'm the Browns, I'd take Myles Garrett this year, no questions asked. Once you start getting past the top 10 (I assume we'll beat the Jets, pick in the 12-15 range), the marriage between need and talent emerges. I want a cornerstone if I can get it. If the talent and the desire doesn't match up at those positions, I'll change search criteria to finding the best player I can in a position that makes the biggest improvement in Year 1. We already have LT, the team probably thinks it has QB (to some extent), pass rush and receiver solved. Corner seems to be the one area with the biggest question mark. -

Reaching for positions is as bad as reaching for need. For me, if you can get a top calibre player in the first round, you do it. The talent probably isn't there at OT to take one early in R1. They won't take another pass rusher in R1 after Shaq. If they keep Tyrod, that's a 2-3 year commitment, they won't go QB in R1. That leaves WR as the main priority position left. I'm good with them taking the Corey Davis route if they want to. Top player, satisfies a need, will have a hole there from FA one way or the other. If they want to take a shot on a Malik McDowell or someone of that ilk, I'm good with that too. Just leave R1 with a stud, where he plays matters little to me as long as it's not a specialist or a tight end. (Edit - or a non-elite RB). -
Absolutely. I don't think he's ready to be a HC just yet. Why I've mentioned the idea of a placeholder HC like a Coughlin to help Lynn's path. I think Lynn is a smart guy, plenty of things I've seen from his accident a few years ago that makes me think he's a decent human being as well. I wouldn't mind him as a candidate with a good 3-4 seasons of OC experience under his belt. I'm just in no rush to get rid of him. I think he's been an asset to a team that's bereft of positives.
