  1. As far as I'm aware, the Navy have allowed Keenan Reynolds and Joe Cardona to defer their military service recently. I'm not sure if the Air Force would allow something similar but the precedent would be there to allow it. I believe they have to complete five years of active service as a prerequisite of the free education.
  2. If you haven't seen anything of Air Force WR Jalen Robinette yet, the Shrine Game will be well worth watching. That dude is so athletic for his size. Comes from a triple option offense, had 51.7% of team receptions and 54.7% of team receiving yards. Averaged 27.4 yards per completion, highest in the nation.
  3. I think every QB in this class needs a redshirt year, honestly. All of the top guys have flaws that could be exposed if thrown into the fire. Ultimately, one or two will play early and it'll be up to them to adjust. Watson has the big game experience, Mahomes has that don't give a !@#$ attitude, I think they'd be the best candidates to play in Year 1. With Cardale, I never really saw anything that tied in to his inaccurate throws (why I refer to him as "fundamentally inaccurate"). With Kizer, it's 95% down to lazy feet. The kid might never solve the issue but that's the beauty of being this distanced from the situation, hard to find out about a work ethic.
  4. Gives me a few days to get some insults primed. Thanks for the warning. I'm probably going to end up pushing a very lonely bandwagon for Kizer and I'm cool with that. It really just comes down to what you think is fixable with him and I think his biggest issues should be fixable in the right environment (ie. if David Lee does one and we get a proper QB coach). All starts with his feet and that should be most of his rookie year taken up. Basic fielding/bowling drills when I was a kid taught me that your front foot needs to align with the target and Kizer typically sails it because he's not aligned and tries to compensate with his arm. Conceptual level, he's a smart kid. He's capable of multiple progressions, can throw with anticipation. He's far from perfect but I can see a path to him being a decent QB. Would've liked him to stay in school but he really needed to get away from Brian Kelly at the same time. Calling him a 1st round QB is a stretch but I'd take him at #42 in a heartbeat.
  5. Welp, Cooper Rush probably found himself off a good 15-20 draft boards yesterday. Failed the 9" hand span threshold that a lot of teams use at QB. http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/cfb/68541/351/shrine-week-weigh-in-results
  6. Toledo TE Michael Roberts checked in at the Shrine Game with an 11 5/8" hand span. Those are some bloody big mitts. @JeffRisdon Bills having a long walk with Temple CB Nate Hairston. They've clearly met before
  7. You're all mistaken. He's being sounded out as a nose tackle.
  8. From the people I've spoken to about it, I really think he would be making a terrible decision coming back. I just hope that he's sought expert opinion from people not affiliated with the team. The team has to approach the position as if he's exactly what he is, one bad bit of contact from calling it quits. Can't be a Blanton/Anderson/Meeks horror fest behind him.
  9. Surely, he'd coach Michigan.....
  10. I quite like Beathard in some respects. I think he played hurt for most of 2015, took some brutal shots. Really ballsy kid. Just thankful you didn't say Nate Peterman or we would fall out
  11. A name to watch out for in a year's time - Chase Blackburn. Currently an ST assistant under Thomas McGaughey in Carolina. Played for McDermott at the back end of his career. Has been mentored by Bruce DeHaven when Bruce took up an advisory role.
  12. Found my WLB athletic benchmark - http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=11678&draftyear=2006&genpos=olb
  13. I don't recall any formal suspensions from memory. Honestly, I really don't think Saban gives a damn

  15. This hire will be extremely important and, as soon as they announce it, I'll hate it.
  16. Twice in 24 hours, Vikings fans tweeting me their sympathies because of Frazier.
  17. I wasn't aware that the failed tests were a secret. I heard it mentioned when he got busted in September on the gun charge.
  18. I quite like the Matt Nagy option but I'm absolutely sure Reid would block it. Especially as he's the younger of the two co-OC's.
  19. I'm not sure any QB is going to be on my "Comfortable With At 10" list. Not even Mr. True Biscuit.
  20. Embrace change, my friend. It's happening so be excited.
  21. You do not get to play with my heart like this.
  22. I've not watched a great deal of him. I've seen some safety conversion talk with him. You think his long speed will suffice? Looks like they play a fair bit of Cover 3 behind their pressure packages.
  23. I do like me some Lattimore. Same with Quincy Wilson from Florida. I'm just in dire need of doing more research on the Panthers secondary first. Literally all of my notes this summer were on press-man guys. From what I can gather, it'll be a mix of man/zone.
  24. Right now, I have a few names on that kind of list: Corey Davis, Reuben Foster, Jamal Adams, Malik Hooker, Malik McDowell, Marlon Humphrey. Mike Williams is a maybe, need to work through his 2016 games first.
