  1. He didn't declare.
  2. I wondered why I felt my ears burning Zane Gonzalez of Arizona State is draftable. Where? I haven't a clue. After Aguayo, I'm not sure which way is up anymore. Haven't watched anyone in depth yet but Gonzalez ticks every statistical criteria comfortably.
  3. I figured he would be in the 4.45-4.50 bracket with a more than respectable 10-split. He's not a burner or anything but he can move for a guy his size. NFLDraftScout has him as a 4.48 guy, they're not usually that far off. Undoubted WR1 for me. I don't think this is a Treadwell situation where he's hiding from being exposed. I wanted to see his 40 and his 3-cone for curiousity sake but this doesn't change anything for me.
  4. Corey is one of my top 5 guys for the 10th pick. I'm more than happy with him, Reuben Foster, Malik Hooker, Jamal Adams or Malik McDowell at that spot. Foster/Davis/Hooker, health concerns not being a long-term concern, are probably tied for my affections. At 44, the list is a little bit loaded to needs. I haven't really dug into a ton of guys outside of need positions just yet. If JuJu drops to the 2nd, he's on the list. Antonio Garcia, Cordrea Tankersley, Quincy Wilson. If any of the big 4 QB's (Mahomes/Kizer/Watson/Trubisky) drop that far, they make it by proxy. I'll have a clearer idea on the Day 2 guys as I get through them.
  5. Not a chance in hell Corey was running a 4.6
  6. My good buddy Rich put across his feelings for Buffalo Wins. Rich speaks for me, WWE reference aside. I imagine he probably conveys something you believe in as well. http://thesportsdaily.com/buffalo-wins/one-fanns-opinion-by-rdotdeuce-dont-call-me-buddy-pal-a-retort-to-mr-ryan/
  7. PFF are one of the few places that I'm aware of that track missed tackles. Gilmore missed less than Darby by their stats, playing more snaps than Darby too. (Amendment: Darby & Gilmore both had 8 missed tackles. An error on my part.) Corey Graham had double digit missed tackles.
  8. It's such a perfect comp. NFL will literally fall over themselves convincing people Peterman is good. PJ Walker on his couch tutting.
  9. You look into his eyes, you see prison on the horizon. He might be clinically nuts
  10. Josh Reynolds ain't perfect but boy, if I don't just love him. Biggest takeaway, I think Justin Vogel needs some looser pants. If he fakes a punt, that slo-mo is going to be graphic!
  11. I think Watson is more aggressive than Tyrod is. At times, Tyrod comes off that first read a little too early, Watson sticks with it. That's not always a bad thing, only when it doesn't come open and he still forces it. In the 6 games I watched from Draft Breakdown last night, he threw 11 interceptions. I'd put primary or total responsibility for 9 of them on Watson. I think ditching Tyrod for Watson might get you more touchdowns and probably doubles your INT total, there's a trade off that I could personally live with. Personnel wise, I think the receiving corp ideals stay fairly similar. Both QB's are going to need an emphasis on WR's with a large catch radius, players that create a margin for error. Watson is a guy that trusts his playmakers to make plays, whereas I think Tyrod doesn't really trust anyone but Sammy. If Watson is the route that the staff wants to take, I'm not going to castigate them for it. I think he's a decent prospect. I just don't know how quickly he'll learn all the requisite footwork from working under center etc. Hard to imagine him as a Day 1 starter in Buffalo. Ideal scenario - Watson pairs up with Hue Jackson. If they want to hand us a couple of mid-round picks to come up from 12 for him, I wouldn't say no
  12. So, Deshaun Watson. Let's do this (for the 295th time). Mental attributes - Plays his best when the pressure is on, dialled in to the scheme, knows his primary read but often works a little too hard to confirm it. Has supreme confidence in his arm, which carries pros and cons. Gets a little skittish in the pocket and has an instinct to bolt vs pressure instead of consistently finding his hot read. Confidence seems key to him, he's a force when everything starts off well. Passing acumen - General accuracy is pretty good. His placement can be pretty shocking at times though. It's been the cause of a few interceptions. Has the velocity to make all the throws, doesn't have trouble with far-hash throws. Lacks true command of his velocity though. Between that and the placement, he asks far too much of his supporting cast far too often. Deep ball accuracy needs a missing persons report, nowhere to be found for large parts of the season, typically overthrowing pressing downfield. He's decent throwing on the move but needs to understand that contact with the floor is necessary for having a throwing base. The manic process still exists from 2015 (although less frequently). As a runner - Savvy runner once he breaks to the 2nd level. Not really built for the way he was used (QB power with a 207-pound QB is asking for it). Mobility needs to be stressed in his pro scheme, similar to the Mariota transition. 2nd round grade for me. He can be a starting NFL QB but I'm not convinced he's going to be anything better than a middle of the pack starter. NFL comparison and likely career trajectory both point to Ryan Tannehill. His best is going to be good enough to win you games but his play will have the ability to fluctuate over the course of 16 games. His chancer nature will give the opposition a chance to stay in the game.
  13. About to spend my Friday night looking at Deshaun Watson. I'll post my thoughts after I'm done because this horse hasn't been beat nearly enough yet.
  14. It's a very surreal thing. Through that particular draft class, I heard people talking about Teddy as a mobile QB. Not a word about Blake Bortles who had like 3.5 times as many rushing yards at UCF and designed runs. I know some (perhaps most) want to put it down to racism. I don't think it's a form of hatred, possibly more in line with ignorance. Compare what you and everyone else can clearly see, that way you don't have to add contextual layers to your analysis. It's a really tricky thing to navigate because some key phrases are now "code" for racial bias. Anyone who's ever talked Teddy with me knows that this is something I would jump at. I guess it's more a case of, if the Vikings are willing to trade him for peanuts, what does that say about their faith in him healing?
  15. The funny thing is, Teddy would be, if healthy, my first choice to run the Dennison offense. He would excel in this scheme.
  16. From the moment it happened, my expectation was that it would likely be career-ending. He was always likely to miss 2017, even just as a precautionary measure. If he takes the field again, it'll be a happy day. Just not filled with confidence that it ever happens.
  17. I've heard someone suggest he'll be a 4.4 flat guy. I haven't seen where he's doing Combine training. If he ends up at EXOS, he might break that 4.5 barrier but the tape still doesn't really show it. I could see a team like KC taking a shot late 1st if Berry doesn't come back.
  18. Melifonwu is now the 104th first rounder in this class. He's a pretty decent player but this **** is going crazy, people making out like he's the next Kam Chancellor or something. Really like his game, I think he's a solid 4.5 kind of guy, smart against the run, athletically and technically capable in coverage. Could play SS or WLB for McDermott, depending on testing etc. I'm with Bandit, likely a Day 2 player for me.
  19. It's "One rep at the Senior Bowl > 4 years of tape" day. Oh, joyous day.
  20. They might be to the league but you certainly don't need to treat them as such. A guy gets an award for his charity work voted for by the locker room and you come in all guns blazing because you don't like him?
  21. You really need to stop viewing players as a commodity. It's not healthy.
  22. What did you expect? "I have reservation about his football skills, therefore he's a horrible human being."
  23. Finished primary school. Went to 3 different high schools. Almost went pro in cricket. Two serious knee injuries/operations. Dropped out of college (twice). Got engaged. Got un-engaged. Got what my dad calls a "proper job". Got fired from same "proper job". Crippling depression. The usual.
  24. Des King with sub 30" arms. Yeah, I think that was the end of him being a corner. Jourdan Lewis is longer and he's knee-high
  25. If he's going to get kicked inside, I want him at Center. I think he could be an All-Pro C within 2 seasons. Throw that nasty bastard into the middle of a knife fight. Lamp's arms are 5" shorter than Julie'n Davenport's. I know which one I'd rather have on the blind side of my QB
