  1. Was worse last year. Some teams wasted money on contracts for UDFAs that they ended up not being allowed to bring to camp. It’s not a Beane thing. It’s an NFL thing.
  2. Thanks for the discussion. I would say I expect steelers to decline some while I'm not sure any of the other teams jump up too much (Falcons, Panthers, Dolphins, Colts, WFT could all be top half but unlikely to be top 10). Similarly on the away games I see the Saints and Titans to take steps back. In the Titans case I anticipate it to be a big step back (maybe bottom half of league). I think we should be fine this year considering how much weaker our opponents appear. For the run game I do think getting our OL working together should address a lot of the problems. Its not like we didnt have some success running last year (ending the game against the steelers for example). Like a lot of things it needs to be more consistent.
  3. Kelce and Hill had more (almost 2700!) but no WR duo had more. Crazy top pair.
  4. I don’t understand Tommy Sweeney get projected to the roster so much. He played in 6 games 2 years ago and has a heart condition. I think all the rookies have more upside over him at this point in his career. Agree with other posters that keeping Taiwan jones off this roster would be great. Hoping damar can do that job. his open field tackles in college were nice.
  5. No Problem still plenty of good players to compete with Levi and provide depth. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/cornerback/available/
  6. I think Groot might be a day 1 starter. Let Hughes and Addison come in on high leverage passing downs.
  7. LOL that Brieda is JAG. He had the fastest recorded speed in the NFL in 2018 and 2019. He might be the fastest guy in the league with pads on (I dont quite think this is true) let alone at the position.
  8. Really not that concerned with the price tag. Bit of an overpay, but not a drastic one. Considering cap is going up and patience is needed with a such a prospect totally ok with it.
  9. Didn’t catch all of the thread but to the OP. Don’t trade up round one when there are so few players in the class. The part of the draft that gets most affected is the quality at the end of the draft. The top 100 is still comparable to most other years (because the money is still as good). Trading down at 30 gives you less top 100. Would love to move back up to the 4th from these later rounds to avoid the lack of good players at the bottom of the draft.
  10. My thoughts. I don’t want a Rb in round 1. I really don’t want to trade up for a rb in round 1. above all else trust the FO
  11. I would also argue a 2nd round iOL could start by taking Felciano or Ford's spot. Edge in the first round could also "start" by which I mean get the most snaps.
  12. I'm not as high on rondale moore. I thought he cost his team at least one game with fumbles. I would prefer Dwayne Eskridge.
  13. No CBs picked by the bills yet? It has to be a DB and I think it needs to be a CB. We ONLY have tre and Dane Jackson under contract next year at the position. An investment needs to be made considering the numbers.
  14. Trading up i would be pissed. However, while hes not my favorite (that would be Azeez please) I would be ok. As for sacks, someone tell me how this is different than danielle hunter who only had 4.5 sacks in 2 years at LSU (1.5 his last year)? I understand hunter was a 3rd round pick but I thought we all realized sacks werent indicative of impact. Below video shows them with similar physical gifts (discounted some with pro days) EDIT: Big 10 handled the season silly and he didnt get to play any non-conference games which probably would have resulted in him getting some sacks.
  15. I would say Taron, Teller, singeltary, and Davis were all hits. Ed is also very close. Beane likes to take high ceiling players in the first. It’s probably more surprising Josh peaked so quickly rather than others haven’t. Happy to give the 1st round picks more time to develop.
  16. Cool site. Aligns with what I see in other places. Barring a strange drop from someone else Asante Samuel or Jayson Oweh seem most likely.
  17. Thanks for the reply. Just two things for your thinking. Wallace isnt under contract for next year so I am ok with taking CB2 a little later but I think we need something besides Dane Jackson in the pipeline. Probably best way to state my position is we NEED something for next year and we it would be NICE to upgrade this year (but dont have to). Agree on Phillips; I'm not sure if Star will be gone (dead cap is big but still 4 mil cap savings). I still think we can get a really good player later in the draft. I assume the 1 Tech youre targeting in round 2 is Tyler Shelvin? I would rather move up a bit in round 3 and take him if we had to.
  18. Uggh on a RB in the first and giving up a 4th this year is not possible if we dont move back to get one first. I dont think we need to take 1 tech in the 2nd. I see a lot of them falling to our pick in round 5 (Marvin Wilson, Taderrel Slaton, Bobby Brown III). Your proposal does not address concerns at the following more important positions: CB2 next year (only Tre and Dane Jackson under contract for next year). WR next year (Diggs, Will davis continue to grow?, 1 year older Beasley is all we have) iOL next year (Feliciano is ok, Ford is hope, Morse has injury concerns, Boettger is okish) S this year (Johnson behind Poyer and Hyde inspires no confidence for me) Are you concerned about the relative positional value of RB and 1 tech for where you take them (in the first 2 rounds)? Are you not concerned about these other positions cause I dont think you fill them if you burn the draft capital?
  19. I dont think a trade up is ruled out at 30 (I do think a RB is), and I understand why you do it. However, I would like to articulate the case for trading back a little. Bruce Nolan has made this point most passionately (and every point honestly). With Josh getting a huge contract in the coming years (as well as contracts for Tre, Dawkins, Milano) we are going to have let a lot of our depth/low end starter talent walk (think Taron Johnson, Harrison Phillips, Siran Neal). Since you pay a premium during free agency, the desire would be to get this level player in the draft. More of those picks allows you to hit more and fill more holes long term.
  20. I have heard tape is super hard to find this year which makes some sense. Re: my UNC comments I have heard he thinks that some of his best tape so there could be that. This year will probably have a few more surprises in the draft. However, I think we will see a LOT more late round draft picks be contributors because they werent able to be properly evaluated. So NFL def has All22 for sale. Its how Erik Turner does his breakdowns (he has gotten in trouble for publishing though). College sounds like a black market. Awesome. When they have to start paying players theyll probably figure this out as a revenue generator.
  21. Agree dont just put him with another guy cause same measurables. But while I havent seen much tape; he looked good in the UNC game and ok at senior bowl drills. Where do yall find tape? I am stuck with Youtube cut ups. Sorta surprised with as much business as the draft drives that NCAAF doesnt sell All-22 tape access.
  22. Dean and Okudah are both pretty early in their careers but have been starters at times. I'm not sure you should mark them as misses. I also think Byron Jones has been a lot more than meh (hes made a pro bowl, has a 55% career completion % allowed). So that would be 2 great, 1 good, 1 bad, and 2 incompletes. I would say 3/4 being good and 50% being great is a really good hit rate.
  23. @GunnerBill I see some of your concerns now. I would not ever trust him in a deep zone and I would be a bit worried with him covering a TE through a seam. Hopefully those could be coached a bit. However, him cover hook/curl and flats looked really good. I also think he showed really good run fits when lined up at the LOS. I def see your concerns though cause he gave up some really big plays.
