  1. How many superbowls did Paul Brown win? I don't seem to remember any appearances, could be wrong.
  2. Not a great game offensively for the Chiefs today, but Reid, not Childress is the playcaller. I like Childress' experience, he should be a great asset for a rookie head coach.
  3. ? Belichek coached as an assistant to Bill Parcells for 4 years after the Browns fired him. So, technically, yes the pats hired him after he was fired
  4. RIP Bruce - a great coach, a good family man, and a guy who loved this city. Makes me a little sad to think Bruce passing gets only 3 pages. This man coached the BEST special teams group in the league for years, and had 2 of the best individual (Tasker and Pike) special teamers ever. At a time when we're bemoaning the lack of professionalism by our current coaches, take a minute to remember a great coach. Thanks for the memories Bruce. And it WAS a forward pass, damn it
  5. Sorry, but I agree with Phil Simms on this one: no matter who the coach is, Build the next 3 game plans around TT and let him throw it 30-40 times a game. See if he can run an NFL type offense. Cardell is not ready yet, let him play out his second year.
  6. San Diego Clippers. The Q's were in the ABA. But you're probably right with your bet.
  7. Stick and stein is gone. Duty Harrys will have all the games, lots of beer specials, and free food. Rum barrel is ok, but a little antiseptic and souless.
  8. And just maybe, with a friend around, Percy keeps his head straight
  9. Bills on twitter- "announce signing of te/wr dickerson, safety Nick Saenz, ot Carmon, release qb Corp and safety Wild." I don't think Corp or Tanney are going to be the qb of the future. Buddys not napping.
  10. Yes, it's time for Cookie, and his coach also. Lou Saban, greatest coach in Bills history. I know Lou was stubborn, and a gypsy, but he reminds me of Bill Parcells. Guy was a winner.
  11. Do you have a bar where you watch the Bills? I only ask because I spend three months (Nov, Dec,Jan.) in Pattaya, but I'd love to actually watch a game in Thailand with some Bills fans. Haven't found any in pattaya, pretty much a soccer town.
  12. Half the year in Fins country (Key West), the other half Pats* country (Martha's Vineyard). Been tough being a Bills fan, had to listen to a lotta s**t last several years. This year is payback!
  13. not really- not much nerve tissue in tendons. Debilitating- yes. painful, not so much
  14. If we can get enough Bill's fans to Miami for the Dec. 23 game, it could be like a home game. If the Dolphins are out of the playoff picture by then, the stadium will be empty. Perfect time for a Bills roadtrip, great Xmas present.
  15. The truly fair way would be to give an entire division a bye the same week, and have them play each other the next week. No one has the advantage. I've even sent this idea to the league office, but it probably makes too much sense.
  16. Uhh,no. That is a cheap Puma knock-off. A red jersey may happen in the future, but not yet.
  17. An achilles can tear anytime you put an excessive strain on the tendon. It's usually an "explosive" type injury, with basketball and racquet sports being the most common activities w/ ruptures. I tore mine two years ago playing tennis, and it's a nasty injury. Long, painful rehab with decreased flexibility and strength afterwards. And psychologically, it's hard- tough to resume regular activities. Believe me, you don't want it to happen again.
  18. It's a trade-off. Yes, it's too hot and humid in the summer, but it's pretty darn nice the rest of the year. And if you're near the water, even the summers aren't too bad. I spend half the year in the Keys, and I don't miss Buffalo winters(although I do spend some time up there every winter). Nice to see the Dolphins in such disarray.
  19. I was living in Dallas then- Cowboys fans were pissed off, angry, in disbelief. That was my superbowl that year. Greg Bell's best game as a Bill. tHANKS, gREG
  20. Yep- First year for Rich Stadium, last year for the standing Buffalo were both 1973. I actually got to see many of the Bills games that year with my Dad. Good, good stuff.
  21. And you know what?- that was a late hit, although not a hard one, after the whistle, from behind (a defenseless player?), right in front of the officials. Should it have been called? Of course not, it's football. Exactly why the "hit" on tinkerbell should'nt have been called.
  22. He's right- "outrage" might be a little strong, but to require a sellout to view a game locally is petty, at best. There should be a threshold- maybe 85-90% of tickets sold to ensure local viewing. Or maybe no threshold- televise every game. After all, it's all about advertising dollars, and more people would be exposed to the ads. Win-win, right? Not likely. The NFL wants to sell you the sunday pass, or a season ticket. After all the blather during the lockout about taking care of the fans, it really comes down to the NFL squeezing every dollar out of the fan. I guess thats OK: they're a business, and the goal of any business is to make money. Just don't pretend it's all about the fans, Roger- go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all full here!
  23. Does seem a little off, no? But they've been in the east since 1961, and the same 4 teams have played in their division since 1968, so there is historical precedence. If the NFL ever re-aligns along rational geographic lines, a lot of great old rivalies will be lost- we would probably be playing with the Browns, Steelers and Bengals.
  24. Yeah, a bunch of blonde clones with big breasts- barbie dolls. You guys must not have been breast fed. Lots of much prettier women out there who don't look like they came out of a factory. All that aside, I f**ckin' hate the Cowboys- i had the misfortune to live in Dallas for several years, and their arrogance is nauseating.
