  1. So can the single mom, if she feels she isn't being compensated appropriately.
  2. The sad reality is that the single mom who works 3 jobs doesn't generate nearly the same revenue for her employers that Sammy generates for the Pegulas and the NFL.
  3. Jeff Hunter @MrJeffHunter Just a reminder... NBA: $8b revenue / 420 players = ~$19m/player NFL: $14b revenue / 1,696 players = ~$8.25m/player 6:28 AM - 1 Jul 2017 -- I didn't fully check the numbers here, but it seems relevant.
  4. I think many are reading the title of the thread and not the context of the tweet in the OP.
  5. I think that's the toughest part about analytics with football vs the other sports too. 16 games per season makes for a much smaller sample size, so you really need to try to nail down what stats you feel transcend the surrounding cast & schemes since they change so much more frequently within the data set.
  6. No reason to pass when you can have your RB go for 200+ lol
  7. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/afootball?p0=422&iso=20170727T1730&year=2017&month=7&day=27&hour=17&min=30&sec=0&msg=Training%20Camp
  8. If Carp doesn't miss in OT against Miami that's a GWD for Tyrod, but because the kicker missed it isn't? I'm just saying, if FGs count then why are people treating GWD as an individual stat?
  9. I don't know. I might look into it later. How exactly would you define 'game on the line'? Like how much is the max amount of time remaining? What's the biggest allowable deficit at that time?
  10. I think I'd argue that YPA is how effective. As for how often, didn't the thing you quoted say we ran like 46% of the time? The beef is in the cow, but you've gotta slaughter the cow first I think.
  11. And he led the league (for QBs) in evaded tackles with 20. 2nd was 16, 3rd was like 10. Coulda been even worse!
  12. We averaged 6.9 YPA passing and 5.3 YPA running. It's not too different! lol
  13. Also, Hunter caught 10 passes last year. Granted, 4 were TDs, but 10 catches for 189 yards.
  14. We are talking about an offense that attempted the fewest passes in the league because the rushing attack was the most efficient in the league vs. a Defense that allowed 3 200+ yard rushers, right? Don't know if you're a fan of DVOA or not, but: Rushing O: 1st Passing O: 19th Rush D: 30th Pass D: 21st
  15. LOL who knows. 8 GWD's needed for 9 wins sounds rough. I looked into them, and based on this board's criteria I think Stafford sucks! Colts - Down 1 - GWD finishes with a FG. Stafford couldn't even put it in the endzone! Then the Lions got a safety to close out the game. Eagles - Down 2 - GWD finishes with a FG. Stafford couldn't even put it in the endzone! Then the Lions forced an INT and the Lions Kneeled out. Rams - Tied - GWD finishes with a FG. Stafford couldn't even put it in the endzone! Then the Lions forced an INT and the Lions Kneeled out. Redskins - Down 4 - GWD with a TD! Vikings - Down 3 - Settled for FG because Stafford couldn't even put it in the endzone! Made up for it by scoring a TD on first drive in OT. Jaguars - Down 3 w/ 13:24 left - GWD with TD. Then Jags punt, Lions FG, Jags INT, Lions Kneel. Vikings - Tied - Lions D forces INT at Minn 33. GWD finishes with a FG. Stafford couldn't even put it in the endzone! Chicago - Up 3 - Stafford throws Pick 6 w/ 7:07 left. Down 4 - GWD with TD. Then Bears turn over on downs & Lions Kneel. Please read this with a heavy dose of sarcasm.
  16. Which accounts for nearly 1/3 of his GWDs over his 8 year career.
  17. Inconsistent QBs who are capable of going on a hot streak. Difference is Eli got through NE* twice to Flacco's once.
  18. Flacco and Eli are essentially the exact same guy in my eyes
  19. I don't think Eli is a top tier QB, but that's another discussion for another day.
  20. The first step to becoming a consistent winner is beating the teams you are supposed to beat. Then to take the next step you need to start getting some upsets against teams you aren't supposed to beat. Once you get those upsets with some regularity those teams become teams you are supposed to beat and the cycle repeats.
  21. No, I got what you were saying, and yeah 8 seeds do generally fare better in the NHL. I just think it's very feasible for a team to get hot in the NFL and win 4 in a row (more so in the NFC than AFC).
  22. I actually think the opposite. It only takes a 4 game hot streak to win it all in football after going 9-7 or 10-6 like the Giants & Steelers seem to do so often. A 4 game hot streak in the NHL gets you through 1 series haha.
  23. Yep. Whole team effort in most of those. So we've now narrowed the opportunities to: 2015 Eagles - Down 3 w/ 1:49 left. Went as you indicated. L 2015 Patriots - Down 7 w/ 1:51 left. Went as you indicated other than the score. L 2015 Texans - Tied w/ 2:32 left, we score the go-ahead TD with 1:53 to play. Carp misses the XP, Our D holds, and we drive down the field again for a FG to put the game out of reach. W 2015 Titans - Down 6 w/ 9:36 left (definitely earlier, but a credited GWD). The infamous 3rd & 23 run and the drive ends in a go-ahead TD. W 2016 Ravens - Down 6 w/ 5:39 left. Punt L 2016 Dolphins - Down 4 w/ 4:00 left. We score the go-ahead TD w/ 1:20 left. Our D doesn't hold, goes to OT, First drive has an overthrow and a missed FG, Our D holds, their D holds, we trot out 10 instead of 11... L 2016 Seahawks - Down 6 w/ 2:41 left. 9 plays, shots at the endzone, turnover on downs. L So he's had 7 chances and he's 2-5? He got credited w/ a GWD against Jacksonville, but there was 10 mins or more left in that game after our go-ahead score. Here's the post I mentioned: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/194461-24-points-wins-losses-and-the-playoffs/
  24. 'Teams interested in TT as their starter' Yes, that exactly. What we weren't talking about was 'Teams interested in trading for Tyrod'. You do realize that teams willing to give him an offer and start him if he were cut is interest, right? This, almost exactly. Dennison was also a factor.
  25. Nobody was interested in a trade. Nobody suggested any team was.
