  1. Yep. 8.8% of his 34 starts.
  2. in 2015 he was 3rd in Air Yards per Attempt, 5th in Yards per Attempt, and 9th in ANY/A You don't do that with 'safe passes that lead to nowhere drives abd punts'
  3. You know the stats he did well in each year, they've all been posted many times. Not much point in posting them again as they will go ignored as usual.
  4. No doubt. At least he has a Defense to keep him in games this year. I suspect more will come as we get healthy again (if we get behind in the first place).
  5. Not his fault you slept through the ones Tyrod's had.
  6. Your engine is functional, but has some issues that need addressing and you have 2 flat tires. What do you fix first?
  7. They're 1-2 at home this year, and probably should be 0-3 if the Texans didn't blow it. Not saying you're wrong, just thought it was interesting.
  8. If Cam throws for 300+ tonight he will set the franchise record for consecutive games at 3. Surprising that the record is only 2 since it's so easy that every QB is expected to do it! Adam Schefter‏ Verified account @AdamSchefter 9h9 hours agoMore Eagles visit Panthers tonight. Carolina’s Cam Newton looking to set a franchise record by throwing for 300 yards in a 3rd consecutive game.
  9. Despite the flaws, I find DVOA to be significantly more aligned with reality than, say, PFF grades, which would grade in context as you suggest. The items you brought up are things that rarely if ever happen in a week of football, let alone a game. At some point with these statistics you need to accept that anomalies are either: a) Rare enough to be statistically irrelevant b) Common enough that they can be ignored as a common factor among all entities being judged
  10. If there's only 3 seconds left on the clock before the play starts then it isn't a successful play.
  11. Again, we're looking at the offense around the QBs. Top 2 pass catchers are injured, Veteran LT injured with a Rookie playing in his place, some ridiculous experiment going on at RG, a RT who can maul in run blocking but is completely lost pass blocking. McCoy isn't going to make the pro bowl if his big runs keep getting negated by penalties and he finishes at his current pace (55.8 rYPG, 3.2 YPC, 93.6 tYPG). I don't put that on McCoy, though. Once Clay went down McCoy was literally the only player on O that required the defense's attention other than Tyrod.
  12. We're comparing the offense around the QBs, not the QBs themselves. That was what you commented on, no?
  13. This is truly funny coming from you
  14. Do they have some of their servers overseas or something? Their site always locks up my machine at work.
  15. Bills: 2 WRs Bye: Dareus and Glenn
  16. I think they replaced that with a % hike in pay for consecutive franchise years. So eventually it prices itself out of being an option.
  17. Yes to this. Though the hope is that it isn't a 6, but a 7.5
  18. Glad to see you couldn't even answer the questions.
  19. That's fine and dandy, but it's not an excuse to not upgrade those positions. The team needs to add the talent first. If it then doesn't lead to more production you look to change the QB.
  20. Honest question: Is the 24th and 27th ranked DVOA Defense acceptable? Is it truly an excuse? Or is it simply a clear part of why we lost some of the games that we did from 2015-2016? Every loss over the past 2 years and 5 games cannot be pinned to one position. Is our current talent level at WR & TE acceptable? I don't think it is regardless of who's playing QB. Granted, that's partly due to injuries. I do think that, as the topic originally alluded to, it is potentially understated that Tyrod's stats have remained consistent despite the progressive loss in talent around him on offense. From 2015-2016 he had his top 2 pass catchers available to him in just under half of the games he played. That's not an excuse, his numbers are what they are, but the people who want to act like his numbers wouldn't be better with more talent around him and 2+ years of chemistry building are incredibly mistaken.
  21. He said Braxton Miller, not Jabrill Peppers
  22. The Bills had the 26th DVOA offense from 2014, it went to the 9th DVOA offense in 2015; 10th in 2016. The 49ers had the 29th DVOA offense in 2004, it went to the 32nd DVOA offense in 2005; 23rd in 2006; 32nd in 2007; 27th in 2008; 23rd in 2009; 24th in 2012.
  23. Agreed, but not the point I'm making. 'Totally outplayed' is a giant crock of $&!*. DVOA has TT at 18 and McCown at 28 DYAR has TT at 19 and McCown at 29 Heck, even my system has TT at 22 and McCown at 28
  24. Factoring in all attempts, McCown is averaging 1.8 fewer attempts per game (37.2 vs 35.4), 1 more yard per game (189.2 vs 190.2), they have exactly the same TDs (6) and McCown has 6 turnovers to Tyrod's 2. And that's before pointing out that per your own link Tyrod has a better passer rating (albeit slightly) and a better ANY/A. If that's totally outplaying someone you're watching the wrong sport.
