  1. All I asked was what parameters you were going to base performance on. Total Yards? Yards per Game? TDs per game? Wins? QB Rating? TD:TO Ratio? TD%? YAC/R? I'm not going to make you put your money where your mouth is, per se. I'm just curious where exactly you think we're going to be improved.
  2. I am uncertain on whether he is better than Nathan Peterman. It's funny how quickly folks back off of 10 to 1 odds when asked.
  3. Toss out some parameters. I might be interested in wagering $100 to make $1000
  4. 4 games of mediocrity from 2 years ago isn't enough for me to make a decision one way or the other.
  5. It's more of a reflection of the unknown of McC than an endorsement of Nate. I generally agree with your sentiment, which is why I think our draft intentions are so incredibly apparent.
  6. I know I'm hard on Nate because of his previous performance, but I'm not convinced that he won't beat AJ for a starting spot if a talented rookie isn't added in the draft.
  7. This one has a great 30 under 30 list!
  8. My statement was definitely specific to Rosen (I know I didn't state that). Just my opinion, but Rosen and Mayfield start day 1, Darnold gets the Goff treatment, Allen gets the Mahomes treatment.
  9. Honestly, my expectation if we were to trade up for a QB would be that he starts and we win between 5 and 8 games in 2018. Then in 2019 we upgrade the pieces around him with all the cap space we have freed up and start a streak of playoff appearances and runs. This is exactly what the Rams and Eagles did. Our roster is not complete, and won't be for the 2018 season whether we trade up or not.
  10. And much like you, Saban missed the entire point of what Rosen was saying, which is that the NCAA does very little, if anything, to help student athletes prepare for a future that does not include their college sport. That hasn't changed since Saban played, but it doesn't make it any less true. The NCAA has 0 interest in what happens to these kids once they stop playing. Alabama was used as an example, as was Clemson, but the point applied to all major colleges. They get athletically gifted kids in that otherwise never would have qualified to attend the school, and then put them through a light courseload with a tutor that does a lot of the work for them so they can focus on the sport. Then, at the end they have a degree they know very little about that isn't very applicable in the real world. Again, Rosen isn't saying Alabama or Clemson are the bad guys. He's saying the NCAA is a steaming pile of crap and he's right.
  11. Yes, let's look at the Rams team, going all the way back to 2010. 2010: 7-9 No playoffs 2011: 2-14 No playoffs 2012: 7-8-1 No playoffs 2013: 7-9 No playoffs 2014: 6-10 No playoffs 2015: 7-9 No playoffs -----------------------------------------> Trade up from pick #15 to Pick #1 and select Jared Goff 2016: 4-12 No playoffs 2017: 11-5 Won Division Yep, trading up for a QB reaaaallly set them back.
  12. I would take Allen Robinson, Kevin White, Taylor Gabriel, Cam Meredith, and Tanner Gentry over Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones, Andre Holmes, Rod Streater, and Brandon Reilly.
  13. Last offseason too. The plan since McD came in was QB in 2018.
  14. I've got to disagree here. The whole premise of a draft board is establishing who you would take when your pick comes up. What they published looks more like a ranking of prospects by grade, rather than a draft board. It seems quite clear that they haven't weighted it for positional value, and I don't expect them to weight it on needs since they aren't an actual team and need weights are slight at best anyway.
  15. Your comment was about our 2017 Offensive Line, no?
  16. And yet the other QB managed 4 INTs in 14 starts behind the same OL.
  17. And the whole thread makes sense now...
  18. And yet TT was brought up as being worse than AJ (with no substantial proof, mind you) by post #12. I'd say those who appreciated TT are not the ones who need to let go, it's those who feel the need to bash him still even though he isn't on the team. As long as people want to bash him, especially with points that are false, people will chime in and point out the facts.
  19. So none since 2002? That's a good sign.
  20. Compass prep's expected acceptance ranges for 2018, which are based on all acceptance data from when the new SAT came into play until fall of 2017. They publish ranges for over 360 schools nation wide so that kids can make an educated decision on whether they should retake the tests or not before applying.
  21. Depends on this Allen/Darnold at #1 thing I think. Latest I think we'd pick would be 56. If we do go QB (trade-up), OT, then LB will probably be addressed with some combo of Leonard, Warner, McCray, and Burks in rounds 4-6. If I had to guess, of course.
  22. Exactly what I have penciled in right now. I could see them going OT on day 2 though to fill the RT spot (or at least provide competition) with a guy like Crosby, O'Neill, etc.
  23. Speaking strictly from an academic standpoint and not paring the data down to student athletes specifically, it looks like this for students that are accepted: University of Alabama 25th percentile: SAT=1040 ACT=21 University of Alabama 75th percentile: SAT=1290 ACT=27 Clemson 25th percentile: SAT=1230 ACT=27 Clemson 75th percentile: SAT=1420 ACT=31 UCLA 25th percentile: SAT=1270 ACT=25 UCLA 75th percentile: SAT=1530 ACT=33 And just so people don't claim I'm picking on anyone, Virginia Tech 25th percentile SAT is 1180 and 75th percentile SAT is 1390. ACT information was not available.
  24. First, I don't believe anyone has Jackson in the same tier as the first 4. QBs would be going 1, 2, and 3 (Allen, Darnold, Mayfield/Rosen) and Denver could easily go QB with #5 making #4 the last chance to get one of the blue chip QBs. Second, their direction all offseason has been that they were going with one of the 2 blue chip QBs that needed some time before starting (Allen or Darnold). It is completely conceivable that the Browns: Have very similar grades on Darnold and Allen Know that the only way the Giants stay put at 2 is if Darnold is available Want to select a Tackle, but believe they can trade back and still get the one they want while also picking up a late first and a mid-rounder, as they no longer have a 3rd round pick in 2018. (12, 22, and 96 would be a 30% premium on the value of their #4 pick) Allen, McGlinchey, Guice, and another top 100 prospect seems preferable to Darnold & Barkley assuming the QBs are graded similarly imo.
