McBrothers "Silent Tank" occurring?
Billsfan1972 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
9-7 and the screams about flushing the playoffs down the toilet with the tank would be unbearable. I love how brainwashed some fans are. I wonder how playoff team fans feel when told they are a playoff team, but not a Superbowl contender, so may as well have tanked the season. Were the NYG a real SB team when they won it twice??? They actually may each time have been the longest shots come the playoffs. So how many teams are tanking this year because they can't win the SB???? Boy do I hate this 5 year plan. -
Sumz r.......

Just doesn't happen...... Ever....... Yep KC 3 turnovers this season, Buffalo 6 and +25 differentials. Wanna bet?
-
Yes but not at this historical level....... Doubt we end the year with 6 TO's..... Least since 2014 is 11 Turnovers and outside Carolina (SB year) having a +20 differential, a great year is +10....... Will be interesting to see the rest of the season.

This team is feasting on it through 5 weeks. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/givetake Between them & Jacksonville there is all this false hope that it will continue and some here seem 100% convinced it will continue. Yep Jacksonville will force 48 TO's this year, KC will have 3 TO on offense all year and Buffalo will have 32 TO's and be +26 for the year. Many of the these teams will revert to the mean and that will be the biggest indicator of their record at the end of the season. The Defense will slip, the question is how much and can the Offense do anything.

McBrothers "Silent Tank" occurring?

Yes and 17 years and no playoffs means nothing. This new regime has convinced you 100% they are so good. The reason they are 3-2 is 2 turnovers in 5 games (one desperation vs. Cincy) and a defense getting every bounce and deflection (+8 differential). -
As I keep saying, all those dumb coaches having their best DB & double teaming a #4 receiver..... May want to ask them. Again anyone watch Rams game and not see that Goff is not looking for Watkins?

Again how much better is the offense with watkins/boldin/jones to start the season. The O can't gain 300 yards since nyj (which was a boring game still). No effort to have a passable offense is a tank imo. -

As soon as watkins was traded and the lies that spewed it was obvious. Blaming the old regime too helps. Thus was a .500 team and 2 more wins in 2017 and theu wpuld be a playoff team and they fed bull to people and many fell for it. Again where are they with watkins/boldin/jones if they just stuck with them. Gaones cpuld have been picked up for nothing if he was that important -
Sammy Watkins complaining about targets again

Actually the Rams did not plan on starting Gaines, which is the funny part........ -

Yep an expensive decoy as Goff doesn't look that way, but he takes 1-2 defenders with him. Like the Bills seldom in motion or a pass to get YAC...... But Kupp is now a star...... -
McDermott's Influence on Offense

Yea you mean those 8 passes over 35 yards (never pass and run just bombs) to Watkins in 2015 never happened? -

And this was the same with TT. Watching Watkins run open or lined up in favorable coverage and no checkdowns, movement by the WR's, surveying the field or audibles drove me crazy. Then week 2 of pre-season 4 straight passes to Watkins and all of a sudden it seems the light was turned on only to see him traded and a train wreck of an offense (setting TT to fail) tells me what I want to know about the Bills FO. Again Watkins/Boldin/Jones vs. Matthews/Jones...... Which is better? -

Trust the process...... Not worth arguing as those who hated Watkins was solely based on them buying in to the crapshoot that is the NFL Draft. The Bills paid too much and he get's injured. Who cares when he was 100% healthy he was elite. 8-8 is the worst case scenario (and very likely) as now the TT debate and a mid first round pick is up the Bills again. I didn't fully blame TT, I thought the OC made little attempt to spotlight him. They seem to do it with Shady, but as I always said you watch Watkins and the lack of movement or lining him up elsewhere along with Tyrod seldom surveying the field or audiblng (sp?) and to me it was a major issue. I see the same with Goff. So for the "HATERS" please answer me why opposing coaches have their best players and double coverage assigned to Watkins if he is so bad? Why do countless press/announcers/experts too ask why Goff isn't throwing to him? -

Watch the games. TT nor Goff looks for him. They have the play sent in and don't survey the field of the matchups. I can promise you that any competent seasoned QB would be throwing him the ball. These are basically rookies. Also the #1 defenders are assigned to him as are double teams. But I guess opposing coaches don't know anything either. It is sad to see. -
No I did not discount it, just commented that they were severely shorthanded and was pointing out they beat the Pats convincingly in 2016, shut them out in fact and their offense was productive (i.e. moved the ball) that day. Of course I realize who they beat, but just explaining in both 2016 & 2017 the Bills were 3-2...... Looks pretty much identical. My continual statement is that if Watkins & Boldin were still here I'd actually expect the Bills to be 4-1 or 5-0. But the FO made sure that wouldn't happen. Maybe they are a bad judge of talent not realizing this was a playoff team?
