Romo is awful
-
One year, Philly was flying and NcNabb was breaking records until he got knocked out for the season. Another, TO got twisted up and wasn’t 100% in the Super Bowl. True about the Chris Jones play. Then again, if that’s a touchdown, I would bet on the Chiefs finishing that game with a game winning drive. Then at Baltimore, which I really liked the Bills chances. Then against SF. My point is every game that McDermott gets in the playoffs the odds of him screwing something up rises. He does worse with more chances. He’ll do worse with more chances. We’ll see this for as long as he’s here.

Off-Season Hot Take: Mid Season Struggles And The #1 Seed
Thrivefourfive replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
They lost at home in the playoffs the past two seasons. Having the 1 seed is not the answer at all. -
If he’s not conservative, then what is he? @Beast, that’s not the only quantitative measure of aggressiveness. And you point to something on offense no less.. Going for it on 4th down LESS, with JA17 on the field, would be absolutely a ‘fire him at halftime’ sort of offense.

Hypothetically, if Subway were to hire Colin Kaepernick to do these spots, the NFL wouldn’t allow. Don’t you think?

This whole game is going to come down to Brock Purdy’s performance. If he can escape the pocket, SF has a real chance to win tonight. But I don’t think they can overcome a subpar game by Purdy. Enter one Chris Jones. He’s been a favorite player of mine because I think he’s getting better and better each year. I think he’s Reggie White. And I think he knows he can ruin Purdy. And he’s going to do it. I got the Chiefs 31 - 23 49ers.

So the NFL decides to accept that payment, correct?! And the contract is for the specific player, in this instance, Josh Allen. I’m not trolling per sé, but I admit I know nothing, and everything that I write is from me literally sitting on a couch. I like banter, and I’m okay with being called out for silly ideas 😊 I’m sure we both have greater talents *that hopefully pay the bills* outside of being willing posters on our favorite team’s message board ☺️ It’s all good, Weo. I enjoy the conversation, pretty much any conversation, about football‼️

NFL / \ / \ Subway — JA17 Yes. I think if the NFL didn’t like the Josh Allen brand, he doesn’t get his huge smiling head all over Super Bowl week pushing League blessed company advertisements. The biggest fast food chain in the country and one of the faces of the NFL do not organically collide during Super Bowl week (only!!!😂) without the NFL’s stamp of approval. Yes, absolutely.

I hope we all like watching grass grow and paint dry. When is it going to be time to move on from this coach? I appreciate who he is, and what his MO is, but things are not pointing towards a Super Bowl victory with him at the helm. I could be mistaken, but I believe that McDermott’s biggest (and only?) adjustment to his conservative nature is calling a more aggressive game in the recent playoff loss to the Chiefs. I didn’t see it, but okay. That’s a painfully slow learning curve. At this pace, he may figure out how to actually call a WINNING game on Super Bowl Sunday sometime in the 2040s. How many more super quarterbacks and excellent HCs will come along during that time to put McDermott down every year… It is not happening with McDermott. He ended the drought, he got this franchise to a very consistent winning tier. But there are obvious limitations that he’ll most likely never overcome. It’s very very difficult to win a Super Bowl. A lot of things must align. You can’t have a head coach that is a liability when/if you ever get the chances to bring it all home. Every step of the way with McDermott he is always one or multiple steps behind what it takes to punch through. The longer he is here, the longer we wait (too patiently imo) for the trophy.

Okay, back to a conversation. Thank you. I’ll accept being called a bullshitter, if you will. No, subway doesn’t pick and choose their endorsers without the NFL’s blessing. The NFL is ultimately pulling strings on every single second we see during Super Bowl week. I’m serious, Weo, this is an eleven figure business during its annual mega event in front of the world, how in the holy hell do they let anything take place that isn’t league blessed? If Josh spouted off about this and that, do you think the NFL would allow him to keep doing Subway ads?, even in the off season?! 😂 Gruden was fine until it was time to take down Snyder (because he was historically expendable [this was by far Goodell’s boldest move of his tenure] to cater to social trends…). Gruden embarrassed himself… and why do we know about it?? What do you got on Kaep? Love to hear it. Orchestrating basic ad placement interviews is not the same thing as fixing Super Bowl results…. really guys?

Being silly. But an answer to your ridiculous question would be they have an Allen in the Super Bowl. Pat Mahomes plays the role very very well. The NFL is giddy.

What Makes the Mafia Special?
Thrivefourfive replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
The misery. The ‘band of brothers’ bond over disappointment. I don’t know if it will ever ever be washed out, even by two decades of success. There will probably always be those of us around that have had our hearts ripped out, and know the feeling of it being replaced by more and more heartache. -
The finale this season was the most heart burning. The Chiefs just played perfectly and overcame bad breaks, while the Bills did not take advantage of the breaks they got — fumble touchback/last drive. Stragtically, the Bills need to call a cleaner offensive game. Too many wasted plays behind the line of scrimmage — screens and rushes for lost yardage. I know we’re not supposed to call out players and coaches, but all those plays are someone’s responsibility, and for some reason a lot of members here think this guy is head coach material right now 🤭

Colin Kaepernick. I don’t know why you’re so upset, and I don’t believe that you don’t know the NFL explicitly controls every player’s NIL. Josh’s big ol smiling head and pitch perfect line of speak is an NFL dream poster player. You don’t think they’d like it if Lamar Jackson was better on camera? If you don’t play by the NFL rules (John Gruden) you’re not getting center stage. What exactly do you think is going on Super Bowl week? Players, on their own, deciding to fly to Vegas, to do the spots, to advertise the NFL’s chosen brands.. because they’re independent contractors? Come on, Wee. I know you’re better than that.

Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition
Thrivefourfive replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have to be real serious about what a true WR1 is and level our expectations. Almost every top WR has weaknesses except like three.. Jefferson, Chase, Hill, in that exponentially descending order. It’s obvious, the draft is where these guys are found. Not free agency, and not second/third contracts. Diggs is not a true WR1 anymore. His peak is in the past and I feel he’s an overachiever. Best-for-best, Thielen was better. JA17 and Thielen would have been a better combo in Buffalo. I still think if you take the 15th best WR in the league, JA17 can get top five production from him/her. Higgins and Collins are prime examples of a very good receiver that will be featured as a WR1 and depending on their QB, very well could disappoint a fanbase. Higgins is more gifted, Collins has more heart, both are slow but long. OBD should add another wing to the building just for finding potential WR superstardom in each and every draft. You need a steady flow of these guys to truly contend for a title every season. It’s a sure fire way to get there. The game is 60-65-70% passing. To neglect this position in anyway is minor league stuff. Good luck making McBeane follow through on that. -
In Depth Article Regarding Grass vs Turf Injuries
Thrivefourfive replied to Dick_Cheney's topic in The Stadium Wall
The list reads like.. #1 Party city! #2 Playing in conditions like a Uruguayan rugby team #3 NYC and twice the games #4 Bare naked ladies across the river.. #5 Bottoms Up #6 LA and twice the games #7 I hate this city.. I’m not stretching etc., etc., etc. -
Sorry, I have time to explain this to you.

The subway money isn’t it. The NFL holds these guys hostage with the entire reputation. They can ruin anyone at a moment’s notice. Josh, and the smarts ones, do their job for the Shield during Super Bowl week.. it’s only a couple days.. the work is batshit easy, and they stay in the NFL’s good graces for all future professional and mostly personal trajectories.

Best and Worst QB in Each Team's History
Thrivefourfive replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen easily the best. Easily. I think Loseman had a terrible name and came in at a terrible time, which the Bills still had hope and the 90s were still in the rearview mirror. The expectations and his performance wasn’t good.
