  1. That's interesting. You would take the bye 10 times out of 10 I would think. That's a guaranteed win.
  2. I think I agree. And I do think the most likely scenario the NFL goes with is this one in which the Bills and Bengals each finish the season with 16 games and their own game is declared a "no contest". At that point, allow the Patriots into the playoffs meaning they likely get a rematch with the Bengals in a 2 vs. 7 match up. Bills avoid a 2 vs. 7 match up with the Dolphins who have the WR's that can give the Bills problems. 3 vs. 6 match up with the Ravens is the Bills most favorable WC match up besides possibly drawing the Patriots. But it seems unlikely the Bills can draw the Patriots in most scenarios.
  3. Now this is outside the box but here me out. The NFL absolutely should not even consider forcing the Bills and Bengals to squeeze in two games before the playoffs start. That said, they should consider: Week 18: Bills @ Bengals Patriots vs. Dolphins (Neutral field) Ravens vs. Jets (Neutral field) All other games are originally scheduled opponent and place How this works. Bills beat the Bengals they get the 1 seed. Bills lose to Bengals they get the 3 seed, assuming Chiefs beat Raiders, if not then Bills get 2 seed. Bengals win of any type guarantees them the Division. Bengals lose to Bills by more than 4 AND Ravens beat Jets by more than 8 then Ravens win the Division. But both have to hit like a parlay for the Ravens to win the Division. Patriots vs. Dolphins on neutral field. If either team beats the other by a TD or more they automatically advance to the playoffs as the 7 seed. If the winner fails to cover the 6.5 point spread then the following is in play: Steelers beat the Browns by 8 or more they win the 7 seed. Steelers fail to cover the 7.5 point spread against the Browns then the winning of the Patriots vs. Dolphins game advances as the 7 seed. Jags/Titans no wild card option. Winner take all for the Division only.
  4. Yep. I think the snow storms were a foreshadowing. Everything is out the window, and anything is possible now. We could lose 40 to 3 in the wild card round or go on one of the most epic playoff runs every witnessed.
  5. I'm speaking unfair only in reference to the 2 seed for the Bengals, not the 1 seed. The Bengals had a very good shot at jumping into the 2 seed. But the most likely scenario we will see is that entering Saturday's games, the Bengals will be the 3 seed, Bills the 2 seed and Chiefs the 1 seed. And all three will have a chance to move up and down anywhere in the top 3 pending this weekends games. I was thinking, if the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals all end the season with 4 losses, why not just seed KC #3 due to head to head losses to both the Bengals and Bills? Then the normal tie breakers go into effect for seeding Bills and Bengals. So in this scenario, Bills and Chiefs lose week 18 and Benglas win week 18. They want the teams playing in it to be as healthy as possible without taking an entire month off. That is first and foremost. Second is they can probably make more money on the buildup to the game.
  6. I know we all keep checking for updates multiple times per day. I think unfortunately there just isn't really anything to report right now. Damar's family would be thrilled to get positive news to report and would have that leaked or have the hospital staff make a statement. But the situation is still critical.
  7. That is what will happen. This scenario is probably least fair for the Bengals but it is what it is. Patriots will be playing for their playoff lives and who knows, we might treat the game as a pre-season type game. So Bengals could still get back up to the 2 seed. And with the way the Chiefs have been playing and from what we saw from the Raiders last week, who knows, both teams could have a shot for the 1 seed. One thing I just thought about, if the Chiefs win Saturday night, the Bills are locked into either the 2 or 3 seed. It seems the Ravens will be locked into the 6 seed it looks like. The 7 seed is open to the Pats or Dolphins in the most likely scenarios. The Dolphins seemingly have the talent to hang with the Bills on most Sunday's and even beat them. We haven't seen that same talent or coaching from the Patriots. If the Bills beat the Patriots, the Bills lock themselves into the 2 seed and by eliminating the Patriots, as long as the Dolphins beat the Jets (big IF at this point) the Dolphins come back to Buffalo as the 7 seed. That is my least desirable WC match up other than the Chargers which does not seem possible in terms of seeding. So if the Bills play a pre-season game against the Patriots, holding some players out like Poyer, Tarron, certainly for instance and maybe Morse and Milano and the Patriots emerge victorious the Bills could lock themselves into the three seed with a WC match up against the Ravens rather than the Dolphins. All that said, I'm not sure the coaching staff sees much of a difference between Dolphins vs. Ravens as an opponent.
  8. Not by butt hurt Chiefs fans on Chiefs Planet. But I am told they are a minority of the Chiefs fanbase and just a small grouping of the worst of humanity. I would really like to just take the three seed rather than reschedule this game before the playoffs and take on more injury. It was always our most likely outcome of the regular season. Taking the three seed means we still have to find a way to get the crucial win on the road at Cincinatti. It really makes the most sense. I don't mind conceding the one seed. It was always at least a 50/50 chance the Chiefs would obtain it these last two weeks anyway. My real preference would be to not even play the Pats game and just steam roll the #6 or #7 seed at home with fresh players who have their mind in the right place.
  9. That is fair in this scenario. Bills hold the tie breaker over KC. It would be irrelevant that the Bills played one less game. I just don't think anyone wants to play the game. Just move on. The game will played again.. in the Divisonal round. That is enough.
  10. I really feel the fairest thing would be for the Bills to take the 3 seed. 2 seed to the Bengals and 1 seed to the Chiefs. Of course, if the Chiefs manage to bungle the Vegas game then they will earn the 3 seed, Bills 2 seed and Bengals 1 seed. To me this arrangement of the Bills being the 3 seed makes sense. The Bills were going to have to beat the Bengals in Cincinatti to hold onto a better seeding than the Bengals. Essentially all we are doing is moving the pivotal week 17 game to the Divisional round of the playoffs. Now the Chiefs do get the 1 seed in this scenario but there is simply no way to make it fair all the way around for everyone. And let's face it, this Bengals game was a total toss-up. The Chiefs had at least a 50/50 chance of regaining the 1 seed anyway had the game been played. Also, I'm not the least bit afraid of playing KC in KC. I think we match up quite well with the Chiefs. The Bengals on the other hand I think present some serious mismatches with their WR trio. But as I mentioned before, the Bills have to beat the Bengals in Cincinatti either way. At the end of the day, i really don't care where we are at 1, 2, or 3.
  11. With the amount of money being donated to the charity, now north of $3.5 million and growing still I am confident that the right things will be done with the money in the end. The charity will be under a microscope. There will be house and senate subpoenas for investigation of wrongdoing if something goes sideways with this Go Fund Me. With such a small organization i am sure there may be some bugs that need to be worked out in the process.
  12. No, i mostly agree. 1. I think the players and coaches will want to. It's how they are wired and it would be a distraction from the circumstances. Even if Hamlin's condition does not change between now and then or even gets worse, the likely feel the need and want to play come Sunday. 2. Not playing really screws up the playoffs even more.
  13. The problem with pushing the playoffs back a week and removing the extra week before the Super Bowl is that we are all just assuming the Bills are even ready to play next week. I'm sure the NFL would like them to play the Patriots this Sunday, as not playing them would create even more chaos in the fight for the last wild card spot. But I think for the Bills to be ready to play this Sunday they will need to get some really positive news on their teammate first. The Bills are in a position that they can easily skip these last two games before the playoffs start.
  14. Not surprised at all. Bengals fans are great fans. And the whole charity thing pretty much took off with Andy Dalton's organization. Bengal's fans know how to pay it forward. It all seems like the entire NFL fanbase is doing so now as well.
  15. Just so crazy! $3.5 million and counting. Still owed at least $30 from me.
  16. I'm of the mindset of just taking these next two weeks off if that means taking two L's I'm fine with that. But I would leave it up to the players and the coaches to decide when they want play and coach again. My guess would be that being NFL players and coaches, they will all want to get on the field this Sunday at home. But If not, I am okay with that.
  17. They’ll have to come up with a third username though too . Time to retire Filthy Beast like HighFootballIQ was retired.
  18. well if he doesn’t get the one seed Allen should win it. Mahomes cost his team in the biggest games this year. His total yards and total TD’s are not blowing anyone out. Passing yardage record in a 17 game season is less significant. He would need to set the new record by an additional 300+ yards for it to be meaningful.
  19. Brady still has that ability to lead two minute game winning drives like we saw against the Rams and Saints this year. It’s like he can do that in his sleep. I think Las Vegas would be a good landing spot for Brady.
  20. someone is going to Miami. It it is clear Tua can not be counted on there.
  21. I think the Miami owner is desperate for a big splash though. Agree Lamar probably not a good fit for McDaniels system but not sure the owner cares.
  22. I’m tired of seeing Allen try and force the ball to McKenzie on 20+ yard routes. Maybe Cole with his 6-8 yard receptions and sure hands is what our offense needs right now?
  23. I think the Miami owner is getting more desperate with each passing season. And now he knows with Tia’s injury history he doesn’t have a long term Qb. I could see them going all in for Lamar. But Lamar has his own injury woes now too.
  24. would Bill Parcels be one? Don’t recall his entire coaching career but I think Phil Simms was his closest QB to Hof caliber. I don’t believe Simms has made it in yet though and he might not.
  25. Seems more and more Patriots fans are hoping the answer is “Yes”.
