  1. I still expect our game next week to be the Sunday night game so we will know exactly what is at stake going into it. Worst case scenario I am hoping our win or go home motivation will be greater than the Dolphins motivation to win the division with a playoff ticket already punched. no. Steelers lose and we are in no matter what.
  2. they played like crap out of the bye last time they were in this same situation. I think the smart move is to tell the players they are playing the entire game and then bench most the starters for the second half. Back
  3. Take anything we can get with the injuries we have had to our defense this year. But Chubb kind of sucks anyway. Major bust for them.
  4. Pitt @ Balt loss still most likely even with Baltimore resting a lot of starters.
  5. I know the rule. The ref was likely confused on which guy said he was eligible. This is avoided if only one lineman goes to the ref and not three.
  6. Audio and video wouldn’t prove anything other than referee Brad Allen made a mistake due to getting a little sloppy on his mechanics of ineligible lineman reporting and the Lions trickery being a little too good for their own good. All of which we already assume to be true.
  7. Honestly, not caring who won this game, I am a bit happy that the Lions foolish trickery backfired and they ended up fooling the ref. Just send one lineman to report. Hopefully McDermott is taking notes. Not sure how we have typically handled lineman reporting in the past. I do think we were flagged on one earlier in the year ourselves. 100% they did. if they only send one lineman instead of three this doesn’t happen.
  8. of all the officials I know they always say they love basketball officiating for the speed of the game and football for the rules and mechanics.
  9. Three lineman walk up to the ref and we don’t know what any of the three say. Lions could have avoided all of this by only having one lineman walk up to the ref. Then we would no for certain who reported even without audio.
  10. While the ref definitely made a mistake, I have to blame the lions a bit here. They have 3 o-lineman going to one ref to report one lineman eligible. What could go wrong? How about just have the one eligible lineman report?
  11. can you have two o-lineman report eligible on the same play? If not, why does Detroit have two lineman walking up to the ref to report for one player? Must have confused the ref as to which number? When you watch a longer clip, it also looks like the ref gives the eligible lineman signal to the defense before the snap too. Only thing I can think of is that he got the number wrong.
  12. When is the last time an MVP winner had a TD:TO ratio less than 2:1? Jackson and Tua are turnover machines. But it is Allen who has the turnover problem says everyone. Okaaaay. Also, everyone easily leaves out Allen’s receiving TD in 2020. He had 46 TD’s that year.
  13. Feel like it is slightly more likely we win the division and our matchup is with Houston or Indy.
  14. the passes are not thrown straight to the DB. We’re trying to get a penalty on a deep pass. we’re trying to give the receiver a chance to play on the ball. They just happen to to get picked.
  15. I don't know that an arm punt has ever been officially defined but the commonly thought of definition would be a pass on 3rd and 10+, from your side of the field that ends inside the opponents 20 yard line. Or a pass from inside your own 20 that lands in the opponents side of the field or better yet inside their 40 yard line. Those would be what I would consider harmless arm punts. And the bolded in your quote, isn't that what an arm punt is trying to do? Move the chains? Obviously, 3rd 10-12 range, more ideal to try a play around the sticks to pick up the first but if you are in 3rd and 15+ that is when a deep shot is definitely called for more often. And you can't have an arm punt on 4th down. Defenders would just knock the ball down. At least they should.
  16. He’s lucky that hit was back in 2017 or whatever year it was and not today post Tua era concussion NFL. The league is super sensitive when it comes to concussions now. He probably would have been suspended for the rest of the season if he pulled that same stunt in today’s NFL.
  17. I think teams in general have become very loose with their reporting of ankle sprains. So many players coming back early from high ankle sprains makes me question if they really had a high ankle sprain.
  18. KC better get their crap together this week then. We need Bengals to lose one more. If not, the Miami game is likely to be win or go home for the Bills.
  19. Looking at these playoff splits again I see that Burrow is the only one of the three to have a lower post season passer rating than regular season rating. So playing better or worse in the postseason over regular season expectations: Mahomes reg 103.4 / post 107.4 = +4 better in post season Allen reg 92.5 / post 99.6 = +7 better in postseason Burrow reg 98.6 / post 93.8 = -5 worse in the postseason Also, this is strictly passer rating. Allen’s bread and butter is Total QBR. I would assume the difference is even more in favor of Allen over Burrow if we looked at Total QBR.
  20. I disagree. Allen needed to be great against the Chiefs x2, Colts and Bengals to have any chance to win those games. An average performance in either would not have been enough. Bills were eliminated in three out of those 4 games. Allen was great in two of them and Bills were 1-1. The other two he was poor to maybe slightly below average, but average performances would not have made a difference. He needed great performances in those two games. And didn’t you basically just say the opposite in your post prior? QB’s being prime for key output? if your defense can hold a team to under 24 points I suppose the QB doesn’t need to be as great as often.
  21. well our QB balls out in the playoffs too so that is fine. He’s not Joe Burrow in the playoffs. I’m guessing the Bengals have to be one of those 2 teams as well to score under 20 and make the Super Bowl. I’ll say that is surprising as that is a lot of games and would figure there would be more teams out of the 28 qualifying to have scored under 20. But there is also a large difference between under 20 and 38+ Most teams I guess will give up between 20 and 27 on average which makes quite a few more games winnable.
  22. Okay a Bills fan has Allen 1. not going to agree unless we are talking just the time span of the 2023 season, then yeah obviously Allen is 1. Burrow is injured and Mahomes is having a down year. What I do think is exciting is if the Bills win a Super Bowl this year we actually might start seeing the general consensus switch to Allen as 1. I think the consensus today is still Mahomes 1 and then Burrow and Allen as 2 and 3 in differing order.
