Insights into McDermott team-building philosophy
Saxum replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
You think he is a cheater and Beane working for Carolina passed information to him. I guess it is what you would have done in that position but I do not think Beane would have provided it or Coach McD asked for it. -

Agreed, Bills spent a tremendous amount of time scouting Allen, far more than they did other QBs, and when you look at it after the draft he was their target but they did due diligence to on other QBs in case they could not get him. If Browns had gone another way or Bills could not have found a trading partner after moving up they may have to draft 4th or 5th QB on their list. McDermott used information from Whaley's scouts but I am sure he was part of evaluation of potential DEFENSE players for Carolina. -
One evidence on his potential use is Beane talk about losing veterans and due to money issues having to cut Klein which he thought did a great job as fill in for Bills. He then mentioned Bills signed Bernard but mentioned he does not have his size. Bernard would likely be tasked to replace Milano when he is out but cannot attempt to replace Edmunds in this defense which Klein did when he was out. He also has injury problems and until he can show he can be available when needed I doubt Bills are depending on revamping defense to fit him in.

The changes in Jordan (there were sports articles written on it at time) were similar to changes Jimbo went through. He was very much about ego and himself (fans did not help on this when they treated him as arriving hero) and he changed to be about a leader who made other players better. -
Fortunately you are not a doctor. It was a Hip Subluxation which I had from a car accident. Often this is treated without surgery but his doctors choose to be aggressive like Fitzpatrick and use surgery to help speed up treatment. Originally he was put on IR with possibility of return but Washington choose to go another way because he was not recovering fast enough with recovery time closer to high estimates and Taylor Heinicke was doing well and they did not want to upset them apple cart.

OT Deshaun getting ready for a sit down with NFL

Unless he is found lying under oath in civil charges for which criminal charges can be brought. Kneeling is fine as long as you are kneeling to football god (money). -

Trent Dilfer was not QB that year 1996 so what does have to do this? Jimbo partly wanted to go there because Ted Marchibroda was head coach replacing Bilicheat. -
There is a Goodell conspiracy just not on this issue.

It appears to satisfy Kap supporters that the NFL should have a lottery. Have balls for each team put in with number of balls in reverse ratio to draft order (1 ball for Rams to 32 balls for Jaguars). Balls are spun by a certified company not connected to NFL and Cam is given a contract for one year to that team PAID FOR BY NFL. The team also gets an extra roster slot when he is on roster and one more for game days. This would help team absorbing him deflect issues to NFL since they could say it was their decision to place him on team. He could be traded to another team with his agreement and they would get the extra slot, salary paid by NFL, etc. A well managed team finds way to use him even if he is just holder on FGs giving them capability for trick plays. A poorly managed team just demonstrates that they are a poorly managed team. Cam could demonstrate that he could be an asset to a team without being a distraction and that he still wants to play NFL Football.

Starting in 2023, games can be flexed to MNF
Saxum replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
It has been a hassle for a long time. I know people who scheduled flights for family and game was moved meaning they needed to either pay for changes on all tickets or miss game. Game tickets should be a contract IMO and it is shame that there are fans who say this is fine but complain when players are cut from contracts where they received initial signing bonuses accounting for this to happen. -
(Rumor) Drew Brees hinting at a comeback
Saxum replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because like the SF saint he is not willing to be #3 QB on roster being paid veteran minimum before released and signed on practice squad. -
I think some still are mad from mad buffalo disease.

Was that a Cheats dig with mention of Gillette?

(Rumor) Drew Brees hinting at a comeback

Jimmy Buffet does that? He is only 75. Maybe he is trying to keep his mind sharp. Amazing he has time to do that when practicing for upcoming concerts. Jimbo considered coming back and playing for Baltimore but after exploration turned it down. And I think it is a lot easier for QBs to come out of retirement now with less hitting of QB, less checking of supplements (and having a good agent who warns you about tests) and lots more money where backups are making more than some starters a few years earlier. No word on Ryan Fitzpatrick? -
Colin Kaepernick is not willing to go into camp as 3rd QB and likely to be cut and put on practice squad but you knew that right?
-
Would be cool is Cam Lewis (S) came to camp with a Cam Lewis (CB) jersey to be signed.

He is channeling his inner Scott.
