read the CBA the final 8 teams in the playoffs in an uncapped year cannot add value to the cap, they can only match the value of what they lose to UFA. the uncapped year isn't truly uncapped. Plus UFA move to 6 year player instead of 4 year players, which will also limited the UFA pool

I hate the Cowboys but I am glad they won yesterday. Now their ability to go into UFA in the off season has been serverly limited. Most people are unaware that the last 8 teams, can only match the value of players they to UFA. Therefore, JJ can't go out and bring in a new 50million guy because he wants to. Too bad the Redskins also didnt make the final 8, because those to idiots are some of the key players in in driving up overall costs. I also find it rather odd that no one ever gives Ralph credit for being right about the last CBA extention. The next CBA will be a complete bear to get done since the owners cannot even agree and no deal can be struck until those two sides figure something out.

Seahawks replace coach in ONE DAY!
KRT88 replied to South Jersey Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya, does this guy actually think the team fired Mora and then called up Carroll and said, hey are you interested in coaching the Seahawks. They had a deal in place before Mora was even fired. -
As it stand today, almost a week after the entire staff was sent packing, the Bills have done a masterful job of keeping plan B quiet. It seems very obvious that Plan A is Bill Cowher but beyond that it seems like they aren't going to let us know too much. I have the feeling that there are several guys they can't talk to right now. Brian S. is one, Zimmer may be another, Sean McDermott seems like and one name we haven't kicked around, Jason Garrett. At least 2 of those will be avaialble come Monday. As a fan, I'm certainly frustarted because I see all this access to information, with Twitter and other sources but we have no right as fans to be given daily updates. I seriously doubt no one wants the job because it will come with a 3 or 4 years, 3 million plus dollar a year pay day and most people like and need money. Next week we'll find out something but remember, back in 2001, we waited until after the Super Bowl when no one else did. However, we did pass on Marvin Lewis and John Fox to pick Greg Williams, so maybe hope isn't the right thought!
-
I wouldn't be thrilled but it certainly seems as if he wants the job. At the end of the day, maybe that's enough. Why beg the massive ego guy when someone else actually wants to coach here.

Who we drafted and who we could have drafted 2002-2009
KRT88 replied to Buffalo 66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drafting isn't an exact science. If it was everyone could build a great team really fast. Think about it, Tom Brady, one the best QB in football today (maybe history) got picked in the 6th round! Years ago, we drafted Andre Reed, a future HOFer after we had already pick WR Chris Burkett You are guessing what a player will be based on what he has shown against limited competition! Anyou cannot meassure a guys heart and desire and willingness to compete and get better. Mike Williams had no desire to get better, he already had 25+ million in his pocket. See Oakland QB J. Russell -
Michael Lombardi speculated that is, he didn't know anything for sure, that was the feeling he got. I have a feeling this may play out for another week plus, but who says I'm right! If he is right than it has to be Frazier or Cowher. They're not hiring anyone else because they haven't talked to anyone else and why bring Perry back after letting him go. Maybe Buddy Nix will name himself.

Am I the only Bills fan that doesn't Want Cowher power
KRT88 replied to Kelly's Heroes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
did anyone really think this would be easy. this is Buffalo for crying out loud. We haven't built a new Peace Bridge yet and that was suppose to be opened way back in 96' or something like that. Buffalo and all of WNY act like it's still the 1950's. The history of this franchise isn't glorious, we had 2 solid periods the mid 60's and the late 80's easrly 90's. Any coach has to look at that and realize that onwership here may be that interested in winning and the area doesn't really care about change. -
why are you posting a video link from Monday? look at the time stamp at the top of the page...this stopped being news Tuesday...it's thursday Cowher is not gonna be the coach. Time to move on

unsubstantiated rumors thread: COWER TO BUFFALO!!
KRT88 replied to BillsBacker5545's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't Tampa announce today in a one sentence statement that they were rretaining the services of Raheem Moore? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/foot...s.ap/index.html Carolina announced last week that Fox will be staying on. Certainly he may decide to walk but sounds like he wants to be back. http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/The_Trenc...self-being-back doesn't look like Cowher has many options right now besides Buffalo. he's not going to Cleveland, but there's always Oakland. Sounds like Al Davis will fire Tom Cable next week and we all know that Al love to spend big money on high profile coaches. -

no way under coach would agree to a 1 year deal! absolutely NO WAY!!! -
He'd be a fool to enter the draft. this kid is not NFL ready, far too many wholes in his game. Another year under a passing coach would help. Billick, perhaps our future coach, echoed those same feelings during the game.

Tim Graham "Could Nix sway Schottenheimer to Bills?"
KRT88 replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
also had a hell of a lot better talent than we do plus a QB. we have no QB, no OT, No LB, limited WR after TO leave, it Lee Evans and no one not very good outlook -
I was at that game and the weather was quite nice. the previous week vs Miami was much more wintery

what a great game! and going for 2 and the win! that's what I'm talking about... great game

The Bears contacted Bill Cowher
KRT88 replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shanahan's boy Cutler...the interception machine. I'd jump all over that. Does the guy have any idea what color uniform the Bears wear? Seriously, his ego is so freakin large, he'll can't pass the ball around it! -
That's unrealistic say Fewell goes 3-4 and the team continues to play as hard and agressive as they have shown these past 2 weeks He's got to be considered then as well. He can't help the fact that the teams O-line is beyond awful. This team needs to rebuild the front 7 on defense and get some healthy, smart o-linemen in here. As of right now, he deserves a serious look if we can't land real big game!

That's coaching to WIN!!!! Get call coach!
-
Do we already have our coach? Maybe the Bills should search for a great personel guy and keep Ferrell. He's firey and the guys seem to play hard. I'm sure we could do worse.

Reed and Tasker among 25 Class of 2010 HOF Semifinalists
KRT88 replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I had to hand pick 6, I'd go with these guys: Though arguments can be made for several others. Coryell, Craig, Haley and Guy should already be in the HOF, so that's why I picked those guys! Hate picking 4 offensive players and only 1 defensive but... -
I think its time we start bracing ourselves that
KRT88 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
why would Marty be a disappointment? Because he's never won a super bowl? We've never had a super bowl winning coach before and even if got one, what would it mean. Marty is a guy I'd love to see. His teams play physical football, typically with good defense and he wins! At this moment, Bills fans need to see some crawling before we walk or run. We've smelled the playoffs once in 10 years but we didn't get to taste. My short list: 1. Shanahan 2. Marty 3. Fisher (who's not gonna get fired) 4. Zimmerman (Cin. DC) 5. Holmgren -
and to think back in the mid 90's everyone wanted us to switch from the 3-4 to the 4-3. Now everyone wants to go the other way. First off, we have NO LB so the 3-4 is gonna be difficult to work here. Second, out 4-3 sucks because the front 4 can't rush the passer with any consistency. Either way we need 4 or 5 new guys in the front 7! That's gonna be rough.
-
just look at the blocking systems he ran in Denver...they seemed to have a 1000 yard rusher every year and when he had a stud running back, they were almost unstopable. Sure Elway was a legend but it was Davis that made that team a champion.
-
money talks and BS walks, it just that simple. No way owners won't agree to allow the sale to a group who is willing to move the team to market with far more cash. The Bills will end up elsewhere after Ralph is gone. Jerry Jones and a few of his wealthy friends would give the OK to move to Toronto faster than you could spell relocation. They don't want to share revenue with a small market team and they don't like seeing their "hard earned" revenue get wasted on a cheap franchise. The Bills are better off elsewhere because we continue to put a sorry @$$ product on the field year after year.

EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE, GM, coach, whole upper half of the scouting departing, enture coaching staff, I mean only those not involved in game planning and /or talent evaluation should stay.
