Murray was 17 carries for 48 yards and a fumble thats why the Cowboys ended up throwing it 40+ times . Orton is as play action QB so the better the run game the more effective his play action game will be

and yet you have Urlacher and Brown talking about what a leader and good teammate he was. Look at Romo he has won more than 8 games since 2009 and now you have Orton who comes in and without playing for two years throws for nearly 400 yards and 2 tds 2 picks . I would say its more about Romo having someone around that can tell what hes doing wrong and give similar production if he had too . Tebow ? I recall that one of the issues that Orton had but also the other QB Brady Quinn had as well with tebow was that a fan had put him up a billboard talking about how they should bench orton and start tebow and when asked publicly about it tebow never spoke out against it .As teammates you have to support the guy who has the job but Tebow did nothing but look to undermine Orton when arrived .

Ortons not gonna hold onto the ball that long . the ball is gonna be out of ortons hands within 3 seconds and he will take his deep shots off play action . A lot of what defenses could do the past 4 weeks were because they could take advantage of EJ's inexperience and indecisiveness . true its the same with Orton wanting to retire . Orton wanted to play thats why he wanted out of dallas . He sees Mccown and Henne ,and Fitz getting these opportunities and knew he would have a chance to start again if he could get out from under his deal with the Boys . he waited to see who wanted him the most and in the NFL thats is who is willing to put up the dollars I think in Marrones case it was more about the situation that of you keep bringing in all these different qbs then it looks as though you are trying to replace EJ. I dont think it was orton per say but the just a carrousel of qbs that he had a problem with .

Orton is 31 who knows maybe we can get 4-5 years out of him stranger things have happened .

He doesn't have to learn the entire offense just the sets we expect to run against the Lions and some counters for that. He will probably have the wristband on . A lot of qbs in today's game cannot play from under center .and most have to learn to play from undr the center when they get to the pros . Such is the era of the read option QB. he doesn't have the accuracy or release for a 3 step drop . Playing under center are issues for most young read option qbs the ones that are having the most success now n the league dont have the accuracy issues The offense you see is catered to EJ thats why its so frustrating for everyone involved . They never had plans to start EJ he was supposed to sit and watch but Kolbs issues forced him into the lineup and now the are taking him out because the yse he simply is not picking up the basics as quickly as he should . You say they should call a rollout away from Watts but whose to say that they didnt give him plays within the package that when he reads the defense pre snap that if he doesnt like it he can audible to a play away from Watts and EJ just missed the reads

Did it ever occur to you that maybe EJ cant deliver the ball fast or well enough to run anything else ? What are EJ strengths if he cant make 7-10 yard throws consistently ? thats not being asked to carry the team thats being asked to be competent at your position Ej has been working extensively with the playbook since the spring .and they practice not based on what everyone else likes but what EJ is comfortable with . They look at the weaknesses of the opposing team and put together a package of plays that can exploit the defense that EJ feels comfortable running . You think EJ is that dejected after the game because the coach was calling crap plays or he got hit or someone dropped a pass or two ? hes dejected because he knows full well that hes running about as basic of an offense as they can make it and hes constantly missing throws he knows he should make . Meanwhile you got Orton in practice ,in the film room,and on the sidelines calling out what the defense is running ,who will be open etc and everyone including EJ is really seeing just how far he has to go . Ej is simply not ready

Orton didnt lose his starting job to Grossman nor tebow as they were never his squads or truly his jobs . Rex Grossman was the bears starter and former first rd pick who got hurt at the end of preseason forcing 4th rd pick Orton to step in . When Grossman was healthy he started. As for tebow he was a 1st rd pick the former coach traded up to get. After the coach was fired orton was set to be traded at the start of camp but the trade fell through so the broncos started the better QB but because of a new GM and coaching staff they had to see what Tebow could do so they gave the fans what the wanted and went with tebow not because he was better but because they needed to see what he could him before making a decision on his future which essentially led to him being dealt asap to the jets as soon as the season was over . This stuff can easily be found on the net Im amazed at how many people repeat the same things no matter how wrong or out of context it is

Orton is and has been a starter in this league and hes 31 again if thats old then the league is old and Orton should fit right in Why would we run read option when orton can play under center and run play action ? He doesn't have to teach them how to block but he will get rid of the ball quick and I guarantee you he can tell them WHO to block He doesnt have to teach wideouts have to catch because they will make plays for a guy who will get them the ball Ej has a playbook based off of his capabilities as do most young Qbs .The coaches call what EJ has shown he can have success running if EJ is failing at running those plays thats not the playbook its EJ struggling with what he actually should know and thats worse . To claim that any different plays orton runs successfully means that EJ simply had bad plays and so its the coaches fault is Ej is not being yanked out of the lineup hes played his way out of the lineup just as the majority of the young players in the league has done Orton doesn't have to be the answer he only needs to make sure he is not the problem and we will win games because thats the purpose of this season that the 14 previous seasons dictate that it be

The Bears were not a passing team they were a run heavy team that relied on defense and special teams . We dont need a someone to carry the team just someone that can take advantage of the opportunities that are being given and Orton can do that . He was never the guy in Denver or Chicago . he beat out 1st rd pick Grossman to start all of 2008 for the Bears and went 9-6 .He then was traded for Cutler he was not the guy in Denver just a placeholder . We are not going all in shotgun passing attack like the broncos were doing back then but Orton has experience and success playing in a run heavy system based around execution and game planning and pass heavy spread offense type system . Dallas paid him all that money because he couldn't throw and then we followed it up again because he couldn't throw and since hes not a runner why would they pay him all that money ? The gameplan is based on Ejs strengths the plays the coaches feel he is most comfortable running . They are not airing it out because thats not Ejs strength but the defense is playing for the run AT ALL TIMES so they ask him to complete a series of short high percentage passes in order to move the chains and keep the defense off balanced and he is struggling completing basis timing routes . The opponents defense like our offensive coaches has film and they can see exactly what EJ does and does not do well. Their goal as i said last week and will now repeat is to take away the run , limit turnovers get a lead ,and force EJ to have to throw . The fact that they gave us the ball 3 times and still won the game is a testament that they knew exactly how to beat us . Its not about throwing for 400 yards its about making the passes that make defenses pay for doubting you can do it in the first place . The last time I heard this much chatter about a Qb not being able to throw was Tebow like with tebow there is only so much game planning to get around a Qbs inability to throw accurately.
