  1. Orton has shown hes a great improvement across the board at QB. I don't think a football person on this planet watches the last two games and says our QB play has not improved a ton . The fact is that the teams are sitting on the short routes and so regardless of our Online woes Orton is gonna have to TRUST the Online and stand in there and look down field and yes sometimes a turnover a will come as a result . We know Orton can get the ball out quickly and in his first game he got the ball out quicker than any other QB in the league that week . But when the running game is non existent and we are behind we have to open it up and that comes with the risk of a sack or pressure that could result in a turnover . I look at things like this below as hard lesson tools that offenses have to quickly learn from so it makes it very easy for blockers to know where he is at and as long as you know that the goal s simply to give him time This pic is from someone on Buffalorumblings just wanted to give credit This was supposed to be max protect and should've been a 25-30 yard strike instead it ends up being a 10 yard sack . When you are already living on dump offs when you call plays to go down the field by design you have got to go for it and everyone on the offense has to understand that . These are the types of things that we need to see real growth on from game to game . Do you think when they are in the film room they are saying Kyle should have dumped the ball off or are they saying sorry Kyle because most here are saying Kyle should have dumped the ball off . t I think Lee Smith and the rookie Seantrel are apologizing because those are opportunities wasted simply by blown assignments and are the real difference between big time passing attacks and offense that bark but don't bite
  2. the running game and qb play deteriorated every week from the start of teh season and we finally got the QB back on track and now its time to get the running game back on track
  3. I dont think Sammie was a decoy I think they felt they could attack the pats down the middle of the field and thats what they stuck to . Ill wait and see what they do against the Vikings as I think after film review Orton and sammie will look to exploit those routes next week . First week featured sammie second week Chandler,Hogan and Woods third week everyones involved and sammie gets a couple of bombs and rookie of the week
  4. To be honest EJ doesn't have that ability yet so what you are talking about is a fairy tale . the reality is If one of the turnovers came off a RB not running the right route and the other came off a blown blocking assignment and although he didnt get Sammie the ball as you want you have 3 other receivers with over 70 receiving yards and the TE gets a 100 yards for the first time in eons . I wouldn't say he played great but I would say he played well and I would say our passing game is improving and going forward the plan would be to incorporate everyone better . One thing I will say is that the insertion of Orton is exposing a bunch of offensive mistakes that normally would have probably been blamed on EJ . There are a lot of little mistakes being made and the players cant hide behind EJ missing several throws as a reason .
  5. It was Fred . He stayed in to help Chandler block Ninkovich but from the looks of the play design Fred was supposed to go 5 yards and out to the sideline which wouldve cleared out the linebacker and gave a clear passing lane . It tough to say whether or not Orton should've seen him because he came diving in from the right side
  6. Ill say this again the first pick did not lead directly to a td . When the opposing team has to go 60 + yards for the turnover that is not considered leading directly to a score . If after the pick the Pats had the balling scoring position then you would say that the turnover led directly to a td . The fact is that the def. pass interference penalty is what led directly to a td the fumble led directly to a fg
  7. Well you keep saying how all these guys are better and I'm not talking about elite ones I'm talking about the rest. . You say this as if these other qbs don't make mistakes dont have picks and don't need help from defense or running game . Im trying to figure out what league are you guys watching and I'm not talking about what Orton did previously that was 3-5 years that was a different league Im talking about what are we seeing outside of the elite qbs that says Orton isn't good starter . Did you see Ryan in Atl go down to the bears def? What about the egg Russell laid after the stellar monday night game ? I could go on and on and on the facts are that everyone outside of the elite have up and down games and need help to win . This waiting for a unicorn just wont work after 15 years A ten year vet who hasnt played lives games in years and been with the team weeks shouldn't throw picks ....right there is no such thing as rust when you haven't played ? then why do they even have preseason ? why do they even practice ? This is unbelievably stupid simply because this is an argument you would only apply to Orton . What does throwing the football for 25 years have to do with anything ? This is like saying that when Victor cruz is cleared by the doctors to play he wont have to practice or take a snap he will simply be inserted into a regular season game because practice doesn't matter getting up to game doesnt matter . You guys are not that high on Orton I get it and he should have to prove himself to you and everyone else as well but these arguments that you guys are manufacturing simply do not make any sense
  8. In the Lions game he was firing that pick to the outside based off the presnap read and the DB did a good job of baiting him into that throw which is not uncommon for someone who had played one live game in the past several years In the Pats game that wasn't staring down the receiver the pats knew Orton loves that seam throw and Orton went to the well once too often essentially banking on his arm strength to be able to fire it in there . Orton against the Lions had the quickest release of all Qbs that week now what changed from the Lions game to the Pats is that he Pats were sitting on everything short so we had to send receivers deeper to take advantage of what the Pats were doing but it also opens you up to sacks if your Oline is struggling but thats why the offense was much more successful in the first half than the second . We've seen Orton show good and bad pocket awareness at times the first two weeks hes a pocket passer and hes not looking to run he wants to deliver the ball. he could take the quick dump downs all the time but when you are not running the ball well and you are playing a team like the Pats you have to stand in there and take some chances because you are going to need some points to win against a team like that. Now next week against the Vikings and then the Jets game you are not expecting them to score even 20 points so you would play a much different style of game in those matchups . define bad what is it based on ? you claim low expectations but have yet to set a bar.
  9. Cj looks like a player to me that simply needs something good to happen to him . That run FireChan posted screams zero confidence to me
  10. Every Qb wins some games and loses some games sometimes i swear you guys are looking for a unicorn to play QB Fitzpatrick is about as much like Orton as Orton is like Tom Brady
  11. an interception which leads to the opposing offense having to go more than 60 yards does not constitute as giving them points 1st and 10 at NE 39 (14:53) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass short left to J.Edelman to NE 47 for 8 yards (N.Bradham). Caught at NE 2nd and 2 at NE 47 (14:19) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass incomplete short right to S.Vereen [M.Lawson]. Underthrown under pressure, receiver in flat at NE 49. 3rd and 2 at NE 47 (14:14) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass short middle to J.Edelman to BUF 40 for 13 yards (C.Graham). Caught at 50, crossing to left. 1st and 10 at BUF 40 (13:42) J.Edelman left end pushed ob at BUF 30 for 10 yards (D.Searcy). End-around. 1st and 10 at BUF 30 (13:16) T.Brady pass incomplete deep right to J.Edelman. Overthrown, receiver in rear corner of end zone. PENALTY on BUF-D.Williams, Defensive Pass Interference, 29 yards, enforced at BUF 30 - No Play. 1st and 1 at BUF 1 (13:08) T.Brady pass short right to T.Wright for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN. Caught 7 yds. into end zone, crossing towards corner. yeah Orton just gave them those points
  12. Actually Orton didnt give them 13 points . The Pats on that pick received the ball at their own 39 yard line that is not giving someone points . The pats got the ball to our one because of a 30 yard pass interference penalty . Did you guys watch the game ?
  13. I would like to see us play faster with lots of movements trying to get Cj and sammie ideal matchups
  14. We are running the ball poorly but I have a bigger issue with tempo . We try to play like a power team but in reality we have should be using our quickness and versatility and playing much faster trying to prevent substitutions whenever possible and trying to get our skill players one on one in space against defenders . I would not say to go full blown no huddle and snap the ball fast as possible but I would love for us to go no huddle and allow Orton to call some plays from the line of scrimmage
  15. mistakes happen and there are rarely perfect games in the NFL but we are down 8 with 7 minutes left so regardless of how many turnovers the pats had we were in the game . But even the pick did not lead directly to a score as the pats started from their own 39 and the penalty by the defense is what moved them 30 yards to the 1 . You are talking as if the pick setup a walk in score
  16. no but they all make good and bad plays and a turnover does not mean you didn't play well just as not having a turnover doesn't mean you played well .
  17. that applies to basically 90% of the qbs who played this week
  18. what is the line to be a quality starter in the NFL because this board is all over the place .
  19. Time of possession was NE 30:20 Bills 29:40 they were not on the field that long they shot themselves in the foot with blown coverages in long yardage situations and stupid penalties
  20. lol the upgrade is across the board because now the improved qb play is exposing other areas that need improvement.
  21. Rivers,Rodgers,Manning, and Luck have been ridiculous Romo starting slow but is picking up his play but Bryant has been otherworldly so far Outside of that the rest of the qb play in the league has been up and down . Did anyone see Matt Ryan get clowned by the bears defense yesterday ? Eli was on fire the past few weeks and got shutout by the eagles . the majority of league is mediocre going by the standards set around here
  22. Orton in 2 games 54-87 66.7 comp % 607 total yards 304 ypg 7.49 ypa 3 tds 2 ints 90.9 qb rating and this was off the street basically The problem is not that Orton is mediocre its that some of you simply refuse to admit that some parts of our team are simply not as good as we thought they were
  23. You have to hold onto the ball a bit longer because you have to allow the longer plays time to develop as the Pats were sitting all over the short passes . We should have known that from the start though and came out looking to press down field early to back them off
  24. We dont have a Oline to run 40 times like that we are not overpowering anyone or strength is really our speed . we should be playing like the eagles speed up the game use a lot of motion and try to get our playmakers in space as much as possible . Fred is our Mccoy and Spiller is or Sproles
