  1. Based on what they got in return, I don’t think you could classify him as an “also ran.”
  2. I think one of the most important areas I'm watching for is to see who the gunners are as it I think it will provide good info on several positions that are still competitive--WR, LB, and DB.
  3. Certainly possible they go with 8 and use the spot elsewhere--I keep thinking they will keep someone else for ST. If they go with 9, I think it has to be someone who can play OT.
  4. Yeah, between Morse, Spain, Long, Feliciano, and Ford, they are set in the middle. Wonder if McDermott is back in play?
  5. Will be interesting to see who they keep now on OL? Boetger?
  6. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?
  7. Similar disagreements as others, because I think the decisions will be based on the likelihood of losing a player if cut. For example, I'd take Yeldon over Murphy because i don't think Murphy would NOT get picked on another 53, but Yeldon would. I'd pick J. Johnson over Marlowe, even though I think Marlowe is more valuable today, JJ has much more upside. I think either one of those players will get scooped up, but I would not want to lose the one with more upside.
  8. I guess you've never read my posts over at PPP......
  9. I would think that all teams consider "which player is likely to clear waivers" in order to get them back on the roster (PS). It's why I would keep D. Johnson over Love.
  10. I think a huge part of this discussion will be STs considerations since McD takes it very seriously. They brought Perry in for that reason, and I believe M. Alexander too, so ao lot of the guys we like (Duke e.g.) will depend on whether McD thinks other people on the roster can man up on ST. For the O-line, I think they have to keep 9 given Morse's situation. I've been a Teller fan, and I think he's too good to let go, so I think he stays. I love DL johnson, but is he too raw to be thrown into the rotation over Love? Tough decision. The Yeldon vs Perry decision is probably the most important ST related one. Saturday....
  11. I thought it was Carl...or his son.
  12. The INT could very well be his best play of the PREseason.....if he learns from it....

  14. This is a very interesting graph....Food for thought for those who think Obama's deficits are like Trump's...
  15. Yeah, reminds me of how awful Edmunds a year ago. Two R1 busts in a row Beane!
  16. It seems another wild card in this discussion is who will be the gunners on ST? McD was talking up Zay during the week, and Foster had some reps last night. If they decide to keep 7 WRs, then a guy like S. Perry is most likely gone. I can’t see McD weakening STs to keep 7 unless one of those 2 guys proves they can do it.
  17. Sorry, I didn't mean it would cost an RB; it could be any position. We'll find out soon enough ...
  18. I posted something similar in another thread, that they were giving him a good look with the ones, as it will come down to those two. However, Teller has looked stellar...
  19. Been thinking about the roster decisions they have to make--they are going have some tough decisions, especially since it looks like they have some issues on ST. At TE I think they start with Smith, Knox, and Sweeney, with Kroft on PUP. I think that spot TE will go to an extra RB: Shady, Gore, Singletary, Dimarco, and one of TJ or Perry. Unfortunately, I think if they keep both Shady and Gore, it will cost them a very good young player....
  20. Which is why Bates is important. Bates gives them a backup at both T spots, and even if Ford starts at G, they still have the ability to move him to RT if they had to. I think this grouping gives them a lot of versatility and the ability to meet most contingencies. Nsekhe and Bates can backup at LT, and Bates and Ford can backup at RT.
  21. This is the pot calling the kettle black. As I stated a couple of pages ago, both are probably true. Unfortunately, some can't see the "former" because of their religious belief in Trump...
  22. As did I. I think they were evaluating HIM more so than the WRs last night with Barkley, and he was excellent in Pass Pro. I think they also gave Boetger a chance to unseat Teller when they put him in when Spain went down. I think Teller has won the competition though. My 9: OT: Dawkins, Nsekhe, Ford, Bates C/G: Morse, Spain, Feliciano, Long, Teller. Given Morse's situation, they have to keep 9. I could see the starting 5 as: Dawkins, Spain, Morse, Ford, Nsekhe, which would make Bates the swing OT on game days. If Ford starts at RT, then Nsekhe is the swing on game days. At any rate, I think these 9 give them a lot of flexibility.
  23. Mentioned this in a couple threads, but it deserves its own. They had him at LT last night with the 2s and 3s, and he looked very good in pass pro. I think he is the 9th OL on the 53. Did a great job at C last week on the fly. Good trade by Beane as Harold wasn’t going to make it.
  24. Another guy with a big night was OT Bates. He made the team last night. Thrown in at C last week, played LT with the 2s and 3s last night. Pass pro was very good, and run was decent. They needed someone to step up for the swing tackle role, and Bates "mastered" it, so to speak.....
