  1. Given Daboll's tenure there, it makes sense. Also, I don't know that there is a template other than have a lot of flexibility to do different things for different opponents. It helps to have Brady ...
  2. I was thinking about this yesterday after Shady's release. The Bills are following the Patriot way in this case, carrying a mix of RBs with different skill sets, and at reasonable salaries, as opposed to over-paying for a big name.
  3. Plausible, but I still think it was a matter of which one of the two fairly equal backup guards gave them the most return since they had to release one of them anyway. A 5th and 6th is a pretty decent haul for a backup G. Almost as good as getting a 6th for Bodine....
  4. If you consider him as being in their future plans, then Beane and company hit 100% on this draft class.
  5. While boettger made the cut, I don’t think it’s an indication that the Bills thought he was better, rather he was close enough in their eyes that they could do the Teller trade. In my view, They knew they could not keep both, so they traded the guy that gave the best return to them. Do you think the Browns would’ve done the same deal for Boettger?
  6. They now have the 4th most cap space too. Goes hand in hand. Update: Spotrac now has them at #3. Update 2: down to #5 after incorporating Hauschka's extension.
  7. How’d he get out of the prospects thread...?
  8. Yes, build for the long haul not just this year. They need to prepare to pay some guys...
  9. Crap! I'm all over the place here. I first read it as they don't but they do: Practice squad players can be paid any amount by teams as an incentive to not sign to another team’s roster. The contracts do count towards the team’s salary cap https://www.hogshaven.com/2019/8/30/20840802/how-it-works-nfl-practice-squad-rules-eligibility-salary-and-more-redskins-nfl
  10. @Doc Sorry, I stand corrected--they don't count.
  11. I'm pretty sure I read that it counts toward their cap once season starts. I'll double check.
  12. PS counts too now.
  13. Interesting. I was thinking we might see the Philadelphia Story II. Talented but raw rookie QB takes big leap forward in second year, leading team to playoff berth, but gets injured. Former hyped R1 backup takes them the rest of the way....
  14. I like shady a lot, one of my favorite players as an interview, but the dumb move would be to keep both he and Gore on the roster.
  15. Looks like Perry makes it then...?
  16. I'm sure it's the media's fault and not the "Chosen One's"... https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-30/u-s-consumer-sentiment-falls-most-since-2012-on-tariff-concern?srnd=premium
  17. You don’t trade a 5th and 6th for someone who isn’t viewed as a starter at G.
  18. Beats the discussions about tweeting parents!
  19. Based on what they got in return, I don’t think you could classify him as an “also ran.”
  20. I think one of the most important areas I'm watching for is to see who the gunners are as it I think it will provide good info on several positions that are still competitive--WR, LB, and DB.
  21. Certainly possible they go with 8 and use the spot elsewhere--I keep thinking they will keep someone else for ST. If they go with 9, I think it has to be someone who can play OT.
  22. Yeah, between Morse, Spain, Long, Feliciano, and Ford, they are set in the middle. Wonder if McDermott is back in play?
  23. Will be interesting to see who they keep now on OL? Boetger?
  24. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?
  25. Similar disagreements as others, because I think the decisions will be based on the likelihood of losing a player if cut. For example, I'd take Yeldon over Murphy because i don't think Murphy would NOT get picked on another 53, but Yeldon would. I'd pick J. Johnson over Marlowe, even though I think Marlowe is more valuable today, JJ has much more upside. I think either one of those players will get scooped up, but I would not want to lose the one with more upside.
