The game has always been about controlling the line of scrimmage, and now good DCs know to attack the weakest links in the O-line chain. As long as the main pass rushers are coming from the edges, both OTs are critical. This article (and you can find others) refutes the old-fashioned idea that "you never pick a RT with the 9th pick." I'd rather see the Bills select one of the top 3, who will become an instant starter in 2014, as opposed to either Evans/Ebron who I don't think will be plugged in as an instant starter. Unfortunately, from my perspective, I think if 2 out of 3 are gone before 9, then a team like the Giants will trade up with the Vikes to get the 3rd.

Experience alone will improve the stats the op listed. however, I think we all agree that we could use an upgrade at WR (graham) and OT (pears), and it seems most people will be happy if we address those two in the first 2 rounds.

ok, 4 out of 5 on my list, so I'm ok with FA. Byrd wasn't staying unless the S market sucked, but it turned out to be the hottest position. I think they can draft for bpa now, though we all would like to see our pet positions upgraded--RT, WR, TE, FS, mlb, et al. Had to edit this to fit into the topic: damn! Why didn't they franchise Byrd!!!

The TE market is very weak this year. Given the lack of signings, hopefully the Bills can bring chandler back.

For the Rams he's going to play G, not OT. The Raiders wanted him for OT.

based on what happened in FA so far, I think all 3 will be gone--robinson, mathews, and lewan.Rams, Oakland, Atlanta, Tampa all need OT. While Ebron or Evans seem like good choices, I think a player like Mosely would have the biggest impact in year 1. I'd prefer an OT, but now I don't think any of the top 3 will be there. Trade back is the optimal choice.

We must be conditioned to seeing "you are an idiot," because that's what I saw at first glance too.

Not looking for any big splashes this year. My philosophy would be don't create any holes, and try to improve a little on your weakest links. So, I'd like to see them retain Byrd and chandler, then pick up a G, LB, and CB for depth.

I seem to recall reading he played MLB his last year at FSU. Is that a correct recollection? If so, I wonder if he could handle it in the NFL?

You looked at not signing Levitre as bad? Really? The only thing bad related to that issue is Marrone's judgement of Brown. They should've been more active in bringing in better competition. I for one am glad we don't have a $6 mil + price tag for a G.

As reported, this has been a couple months in the making, so it would seem it's (somewhat) independent of Byrd's offer. Not only does it give Byrd an additional enticement, but it sends a signal that the Bills are serious about building a contender and locking up their good, young players. We'll see in a couple weeks or less how it plays out.

Or it could be viewed as a way to entice Byrd knowing he'd be paired with AW for most of their careers...

The bills gave up 20 passing TDs in the first 8 games, and 8 in the last 8 games. I think your answer is the Byrd and Gilmore injuries.

That is a decent analysis. One change would be to flip what they gave for bradham and Williams at SS. I also would've included moeaki over smith and given him a red color.
