  1. So it was the much predictable run to Freddie that wins it, but at least the second thing eventually happened.
  2. what are you basing the "overall D ranking" on? I'm not seeing 14 or 15. I think the #1 ranking should be ppg. Again, my point is that I think Schwartz's Defensive philosophy is significantly better than Pettine's, and his results are better. Schwartz has them focusing on stopping the run and making them one-dimensional.
  3. That's a point I tried to make, especially regarding criticism of Hackett--the Bills have played some very tough Ds.
  4. We saw his potential last year on several TD bombs, but he couldn't stay healthy. KO said in his interview that he told Goodwin to keep running those flies and he would hit him when it was available. It's possible that Hackett is doing the right thing and having Goodwin stay out of traffic, utilizing him as the deep-coy. That should keep him healthy too...
  5. It's obvious what I looked at. There's no agenda. I took a quick scan of the stats, and thought it was impressive that they have the lowest total. I take that back, the agenda is that I'll take Schwartz over Pettine as D coordinator any year.
  6. That's a little different than Pettine's D.... The Bills have also played 3 of the top 5 defenses in the league--SD, Houston, and Lions. They averaged 14.7 ppg against those Ds, and 26 against the other two. I'd give Hackett a few games with Orton before condemning him too much.
  7. don't you know, we didn't win, the lions lost it.
  8. I wonder how many games the Bills won because of Fred during this era of mediocrity? On a good team he'd be an HOF player no questions.
  9. he just keeps making plays. Had he been ok and playing that second-to-last drive, I have no doubt they would've scored then.Amazing player. Respect.
  10. Hand off to FJ is odds on bet, but would like to see play action, pump fake to Watkins, then bomb to Goodwin down the right sideline..
  11. right, as if the Austrians are the only ones to incorporate debt into analysis. The influence of credit on crises goes back to Marx and Mill. As I told you years ago, I have some sympathy for the Austrians because they do incorporate debt. The problem is their ideas on money. They think modern money is equivalent to when gold was used as money, hence their absurd view that inflation is an increase in the money supply. Guys like schiff keep beating the dead horse and have to resort to conspiracy theories that government is lying. And the conspiracy nuts are alive and well here...
  12. Sorry, HM got it from Keynes and Fisher.
  13. The fact that corps are generating significant CF to be able to "hoard" is not a bad thing...
  14. No, it's very post keynesian a la minsky.
  15. It puts them into an excellent position to expand as the economy grows, though I am leery about the underlying strength...
  16. Gatorman, you are slacking.... The Obamanomics miracle!
  17. I wouldn't look for some type of comparison with a road game. The Lions are lethal at home. They held Eli and the giants to 14 points and < 200 yards, then Rogers and the pack to 7 points and 220 yards. Defense and ST will have to score in order for the Bills to win.
  18. I always thought this was one of the most brutally "cruel" lines of a song: We're cut adrift But still floating I'm only hangin on to watch you go down... My love...
  19. Most difficult call of the season because no one has any clue what the bills game plan will be on O. My gut says bills lose a close one.
  20. Well, in the short term, if today's dumping turns into a little trend, then rates will decline and you'll get some cap gains. Regardless, I'm in cash and will get back in after this all settles down...
  21. I think you're close, give or take a game either way. With the other aspects of the team play at a high level, they just need someone who can actually hit a moving target throughout the game. With EJ, his poor play throughout never let the Bills take command of a game. Most of his games he was in came down to the 4th quarter.
  22. looks like we should be more worried about deflation than inflation. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-09-29/gluts-spur-investor-exit-signaling-prolonged-price-slumps.html The stronger dollar will depress things too. I'm very leery about the stock market right now. Even emerging markets are risky as the strong dollar is causing the carry trade to unwind in a big way. On the other hand, there's no place for investors to make a buck....
  23. Looking at the schedules of all the teams in the East, it is there for the taking. The only Bills game I think is out of play is @Denver; everything else can go either way. If they are 3-3 after NE, and the win is against the Pats, they will be in a very good position. The next 6 games are what I'd consider the easiest part of the schedule--Minn, KC, Clev, 2xJets, and Miami. 4-2 there, then a split of the last 4 should do it.
  24. All they need is Trent dilfer-like production. If they have average qb production throughout games then they can take the East.
  25. A little salve on yesterday's wound. The AFCE is up for grabs!
