  1. Yeah, this Eagles defense looks like a major weakness. I can't see them being competitive in the NFC is it doesn't improve greatly. The completion only gets more difficult. I don't really view the Falcons as a contender.
  2. Why does the lineman pushing a RB into the endzone never draw a flag? Everything else does these days.
  3. A pretty major weakness for an every down LB though. Especially one that many fans wanted to put in Canton his first season.
  4. The legend of Kiko didn't look so hot on that long 3rd down conversion. Although he makes flashy plays in the pass game, the more I think about his run game defense the less the trade depresses me.
  5. I couldn't agree more. So many of our other fast starts in recent history have been done using " smoke and mirrors ". Last minute comebacks, offensive shootouts, etc. The kind of things that cannot be maintained over a long season. Such as the Fitzmagic wins over the Raiders and Pats in 2011, or the quick start by Captain Checkdown that involved second half comebacks with what seemed to be a little bit of luck mixed in. Yesterday we completely handed it to the Colts, and one of the best QBs in the league. It was totally domination on both sides of the ball. We also have an elite defense, and that makes all the difference in the world. We didn't need Brian Moorman to throw a TD to Ryan Denney for this one, we just lined up and beat them.
  6. What's with the gambling spread jokes? Does Colinsworth or Michaels have money on the game, and the jokes on us? Don't remember ever hearing broadcasters comment on something like that before. What a weird broadcast including Michaels comments on everyone complaining about the cheaters.
  7. I love classic rock, and feel very unfortunate to not have grown up while Rock music was at the top of its game. I almost solely listen to classic rock radio while I'm driving, and so many classic rock songs are so great that I never tire of them. However, I find it amazing how large of a catalog these radio stations have to choose from, yet they stick to the same songs over and over. So many great classic rockers have deep catalogs that should be further explored by classic rock radio. They also completly neglect new releases from classic rock bands. I'll admit that many bands have seen better days, but many others still release new music that people should have the opportunity to hear. Because I feel this way, there are more songs that I think should be played than I could list. However, I will give it a shot. I'd have to say all the Cheap Trick hits beside I Want You To Want Me, Kiss Detroit Rock City, and Thin Lizzy Jailbreak.
  8. We all want a team that is sustainable in the long term. If you did get Manning for a year, that's not to say we couldn't draft a young QB. It would be a temporary solution, but as far as im concerned it's a good one. BTW Joe Montana got KC to an AFC title game. Get back to me when one of our three QBS take us there this year.
  9. Things do get worse, but a declining Manning is still a far better QB than a declining Bledsoe. Manning has farther to fall from the top than Bledsoe ever did. Manning is not JAG, Bledsoe was at many times during his career. People forget that it's not historically unheard of for older QBs to play well. Warren Moon had a pretty good late career. I guess my only point is that I'd take him. He might not be what he used to be, but I just have a hard time believing it'd be a totally disaster.
  10. True, but Bledsoe was never at the level of Manning.
  11. This entire scenario is highly unlikely, but you just made a statement that is the biggest argument against your case. You said Manning would give us a chance at a deep run in the playoffs, isn't that what we all want ? I understand that in a perfect world we'd be set at the QB position in the long term. However, there is no such thing as a sure fire long term solution at QB anyways. Andrew Luck was as close to that in the draft as we have seen in a long time, and likely will for some time. If anyone is so certain that he would give us a chance at a deep playoff run for just one year, who wouldn't take that? I think the real argument against him would be if he has enough left in the tank to really play at that level. We shall all find out this year.
  12. My bad, I forgot about the media being in on it. What I saw at SJF must have been some kind of alternative reality. Is the real team even there this summer, or are we all being fooled? Because I could have sworn I didn't see EJ getting first team reps. Now I believe this might be an incredible conspiracy.
  13. This theory seems highly unlikely. We all know Rex is different, but there are some things that simply can't be done. EJ is still a young QB who needs reps with his team. Especially now that there are a lot of new faces on offense. All reports indicate that he's hardly had any reps with the first team offense this summer ( including before they all got injured). There's no way you throw him out against Indy with the 1st team, and expect good things.
  14. I don't understand why so many people love this guy so much. Everyone around here hates Marrone, yet they love the player that symbolizes his regime more than anyone else. This guy would have never seen the field with another coach. Maybe I'll just never recover from being upset by how many touches he got on plays such as screens last year. We traded for Sammy who is obviously far more gifted, and all the screens went to Hogan. He just doesn't have the talent you need in this league. I don't care how good he is at lacrosse. Made a nice catch in the Vikings game, but also drops a ton of passes in games. Fans are blinded by their desire to root for the small college underdog guy that reminds them of themselves, and ignore how he actually plays in the game. Many have mentioned they fear him playing on the Pats. Sure, he'd make an impact with the Pats. Tom Brady would be throwing him the ball. I'd make an impact too.
  15. I would like to see EJ feel the rush however, and at least be able to throw it away. He dances around too much risking negative plays.
  16. It's a shame we didn't get the chance to see TT with a true number one offense. I would have liked to see if they would have been able to get it in the endzone. As we all know our defense is set, but you got to score touchdowns to win. Withour putting 7s on the board you allow the other team to hang in there. Leaving the potential for a lot of painful defeats, with soild defensive play simply going to waste.
  17. No matter who our quarterback is it's going to be all about the run game. I'm slowly reaching the conclusion it doesn't matter who our quarterback will be. Tyrod might win just because of his legs though
  18. I don't see TT separating himself from the other quarterbacks as much as other people do either. EJ played pretty well last week, and I haven't been a big EJ supporter in the past. I think it's just because TT is a new shiny thing. People are seeing what they want. Btw nice job Darby. Curious to see the offense again.
  19. I remember reading another thread where someone said Goodwin needs to be used more on reverses. That's exactly why that wouldn't work. Seems like a great guy, but I don't see wasting a roster spot on him.
  20. Serious question here. Between Jon Bon and Trump. which one is which? I could see that going either way.
  21. Im really sorry to all you baseball fans as I am one too. However, the more baseball I watch the more I'm convinced you don't need to be an athlete to play the game anymore. I believe thats why the sport lacks appeal to people these days. What I've seen from Meh in his NFL career is a pretty unathletic guy. Plus at USC he was a pitcher. Pitcher= stand and throw just like he does as a QB.
  22. Well said. Our defense is so talented that there is no way we miss the playoffs with quality QB play. Therefore EJ would have to play like crap for us to miss the playoffs.
  23. Something needs to be put into NFL contracts that no Kenny Chesney concerts are permitted. It seems they never turn out good.
