  1. Because in certain games you can take advantage of the mismatch he creates. Covering a 4th (or 5th) serious threat stretches a defense thin. I think you are confusing stats with value.
  2. I think of them as a safety net back there. They so rarely make a mistake (I know, it’s happens so you don’t need to remind me) that it gives me a level of comfort. But age is age, and dollars are dollars. They have to find a way to make it all work, even if it might be at the expense of some older guys. I’m pretty confident they can find and develop replacement DB’s if need be.
  3. Serious question in my mind: What % of users are actually paying for it? I know people who “just get it”. I don’t know whose account they are using, or how, but they watch the games free. And the follow up questions like what is the average fee paid? How does that bell curve look? It feels like haggling in a dark market trying to get a real price, and what’s your best deal. I like the world where you tell me how much it costs, and I decide whether to pay for it. I guess I’m old fashioned. Bottom line, I guess that’s exactly what I do. 🤷‍♂️
  4. How soon are you moving? We will have a previously hard to imagine number of games on National TV this year. I forget after the first two, and of course I’m too lazy to look it up, but you won’t need special access that often. Maybe just a sports bar when needed? Even Sunday games will likely be covered in most markets barring a conflict. Even my wife asked “do we really need it this year?” I think she was kidding.
  5. yep, he’s screwing up the salary cap! What was he thinking?
  6. Not to mention, one is an ascending 25 year old player, while the other is on the wrong side of 30. If you are offered either player, straight up, for the next 4-5 years, who are you taking? I knox who I want. (That was a hint.)
  7. I don’t think you, your silly facts or common sense can dissuade those who insist upon being the contrarian on nearly every topic. It seems like some kind of craving for attention.
  8. The next guy up almost always gets the biggest deal. Who would have thought we’d have $50 Mil/year QB’s 3-4 years ago? I think Gesicki is making a bit north of $10 Mil, and as you point out he can’t block. If you are paying attention you realize the numbers only go up. Beane has been signing guys before he has to, and in return for them getting paid early, we get decent value.
  9. Before this contract is up he will look cheap.
  10. I certainly don’t want to become a run first team, but I DO want an effective running game. Maybe get a safety up in the box to make the passing game easier. I want ALL our options to actually be viable. Make the defense worry about everything!
  11. It is my hope that Kromer can make Dorsey look better by coaching up the OL so we can have a respectable running game. Everything gets easier when all the options are on the table and the defense has to account for all of them.
  12. A) I watch the football games, and….. B) Points matter. A LOT! We have weapons ahead of him, but he’s going to be an important piece of the puzzle.
  13. Cleveland is busy throwing kerosene on their own dumpster fire. Hoping the rest of the league isn’t stupid enough to use them as comps, despite what the agents will attempt to do. Even Russell Wilson didn’t get fully guaranteed QB money in Denver. The Browns are the outlier, not the trend setter, I hope.
  14. And will buy a very nice house in OP, which he apparently purchased one back in December. That tells me he knew what to expect, and the FO came thru as promised. Love that!
  15. Me too. Maybe he wants to be Grand Marshall of the parade? That would be more. 🤷‍♂️ EDIT: I assume he knows we don’t have cheerleaders anymore. I think we need more specifics. .
  16. I’ll give you the first, if I can have THE LAST!
  17. Duh??? BTW - Shameless plug for an author who doesn’t need one, but Grisham’s book Playing For Pizza describes a similar situation that kept the Browns out of the Super Bowl. It’s a good read right up this alley.
  18. How did you know that was my Major in college? I don’t think I mentioned that. Have you been looking into me? I’ll have none of THAT, mister! Guy hits on everything that moves……
  19. Did you see the rest of us all offseason? You are not alone! In fact, YOU FIT RIGHT IN!
  20. It’s actually part of a new marketing plan with help out of NYC. I think. I thought it was going to be a semi-horrible Von Miller hype bit, but the Marketing folks did a nice job. It got me worked up, and I’ve shared it all over! .
  21. Yeah, but you bet $10,000 on the Bills in this game and don’t tell your wife? That will result in a turbulent tummy! I heard that somewhere…..I believe it to be true.
  22. I swear that I remember the mood of the CITY being in the dumps after a loss. Despite all the practice we had getting used to it! We have the best fans in the NFL. There is a reason LA went so many years without an NFL team. If they aren’t front runners, they just barely notice when they moved away. Buffalo and the Bills are intertwined like few other sports franchises anywhere.
  23. When I met my wife back in the 80’s, the Bills went 2-14 in back to back seasons. My wife asked the exact same questions! The next year they went 4-12, not exactly “whadaya you say now?” material. The only correct answer is, this may take some time. We went to the Bills/Redskins SB rather than buy a dining room set. She’s used to it now, no longer has to take the kids and the dogs for 3 hour walks. We are now in training with the grandkid’s generation. Next one due in October and my son is worried she will arrive on a game day.
  24. Yep, the best way to win a long term deal is to join a team and ball out late into the playoffs. He has time to wait and see where he’s the best fit, who looks like they will run deep and teams get to check him out after a few more months of PT. .
  25. That is EXACTLY what I would expect. Getting there is easy. Getting back? Not so much. There is a Rally/Party Bus leaving from near my preferred hotel and they still have some seats available. That would be my choice, but right before I pulled the trigger on tix and airfare we took my mom to lunch, where she proceeded to fall and break her pelvis. I think I need to see her out of the hospital and into skilled nursing before I can commit. To look at me you’d think I was about 35, but my mother is almost 95. I hope she is settled there soon, and I can feel comfortable getting away. If it were a 1:00 game it’s easier to hang out until you and Uber can find each other. After a Monday night game it may get late and tricky. . I want @McBean to know that this man speaks the truth (fairly often). They are kind and generous at the tailgate. I highly recommend the experience.
