Yesterday he was spewing about the lack of intellectuals being the biggest problem we face. -

Really the penalties were the biggest negative this week, especially the drive stoppers. Both the offense and defense showed progress. -

Went well I think. I thought we got better as game went along. I figured it would be ugly, but we beat NE next week and back on track. -

Can we stop the complaining? it is what it is!

So if the Bills are this years Chiefs, and following the pattern......Chiefs next beat Broncos 30-6, but only produces 206 yards, but all of a sudden produces a pass rush sacking Flacco 9x. Of course, Mahomes after starting 10-11, got injured and Moore finished the game. The Chiefs then lost to the Packers next week without Mahomes. So we beat up the Jets this week but lack an impressive showing offensively, lose Josh, and develop a pass rush, before losing to the Pats! Hmmm! Get ready for more panic LOL. -
I'm with you. If I could pick one area that I'm more worried about it's the DEFENSE. Saying we were in the game against the SB Champs is a moral victory. Clearly, we are short on defense, coaching to take the big play is even fine. However, executing or lack there of, to the tune of allowing 250?yards rushing, not being able to put an any pressure on the QB, not being able to stop people on 3rd downs and the Red Zone (chronic issues) are huge problems. We were lucky to be in that game, yeah if we had one more lucky play on the fumble, maybe we find a way, or more likely Mahomes brings them right back to score. Generally speaking, we aren't doing anything on either side of the ball well enough the last 2 weeks. C'mon McBeane figure this out quick.

Yeah, but at least they don't get to the QB or cover!😉 -
If we'd gotten the fumble, I bet we score and take the lead. However, I have no confidence that KC doesn't come right down the field and get at LEAST a FG to retake the lead. This game was a an anomaly in being we had a chance. Moss not only looked slow, but tentative hitting the hole. He's supposed to be a power guy, so far he's not that.

The first 4 games It felt like the offense was playing down hill. Last night, right from the outset, we were back on our heels. KC blitzed and got pressure and still managed to get decent coverage and had guys moving forward on screens and short stuff. That combined with a defense game plan aimed at "picking your poison" led to death from a thousand cuts.

I'm amazed that in 6 days you can look at this team and not name a single area that hasn't become a concern. -

I find it laughable that some think the Defense did enough tonight. If you got the feeling that game was close you need your head examined. -

Is it just me or has Peter King had a hard -on for Josh Allen since the beginning. I mean didn't he say that he was the Bills weakness before the season or something like that. And, now you can argue the passing game is the only thing on the team that has played up to snuff. Jeez....Allen haters -

Defensive Assessment Thus Far
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it ironic that last season people were complaining that Star didn't make many splash plays or tackles for that matter. Some people would try to tell them last year that he occupied blockers and did it unselfishly. Now people are saying we really miss Star. -

5 weeks in and I'd say it's a chronic problem. What is also lost on people is we are in top 10 in blitzing attempts, only problem is no one has so much as created a hurry blitzing (check the stats). We are 31st in hurrys, 32 in sack%......it is really hurting and the team can't cover right now either. Not to mention the zone is getting chewed up by any QB. -

Agree with all of this, it can be backed up with stats as well as the eye test. I asked myself last night after 5 games what we do well and what we don't and checked my eyes vs Stats and it's not complicated. Our QB is excellent and by far our best player, the receivers have had some drops but have been pretty good, the Oline pass blocks well, Run Blocking is not so good. On defense we've Blitzed at a Top 10 rate and yet are at the bottom in hurries, pressures, sacks etc. We can't cover in Man right now, and our zone is getting picked apart. I'm wondering if some of the problems aren't more complicated though after a 5 game sample. -
