Put it this way... If I was starting a team and had my choice of ANY RB in the NFL, I would choose Lynch. Is he the most physically gifted or talented RB in the NFL? Probably not. But the entire package...the heart, the desire, and the passion he plays with trumps all of that. There is no doubt in my mind that behind a better O-Line that could actually open a hole now and then that Lynch could lead this league in rushing. Of course he will need to get the ball more. There is no reason that the Bills shouldn't be giving him the ball AT LEAST 24-25 times a game. But yes, if I was given a choice of RBs, I would pick Lynch. That may sound like I'm being a homer or whatever, but I watch a TON of football and have seen every RB in this league play a lot. Are there more talented back, probably yes. But is there another RB I would take first? Not a chance! FEED THE BEAST!!

I guess we are almost good enough to go to the Super Bowl! HA! Anyway, back to reality, the Bills do have a long way to go to get to this level. They need better players and better coaching. It is probably going to be a few more years, at least, until we can even think about getting to this level. Is it possible to do it faster? Yes, but Ralph would have to open the wallet and get some top Free Agents, including guys like Suggs and Haynesworth. A dominant defense may be the most important ingredient to getting to a winning the Super Bowl. A solid QB would helps as well! Do the Bills have some Pieces on Defense? Sure. I think Stroud is it on the D-Line, but I think Poz and Mitchell are good enough at LB. McKelvin, McGee, Greer (If we somehow find a way to keep him) are good enough at CB. And, despite the bashing he takes, Whitner is good enough at FS. So, by my estimations, we need 2 DE's that can actually get to the QB (Schobel and Kelsay just can't get it done), 1 DT (Williams is a backup......not a starter no matter how hard he may work), 1 OLB, and a SS. So, there is a pretty big shopping list there. On offense, perhaps the #1 need is at CENTER. Without a dominant Center, you just can't do a lot of things. There is not a Center on this roster that is good enough. Again, although he takes a beating around here, Peters is good enough. Dockery could be a lot better, but let's face it.....for the money they paid him, he will have to do. As I mentioned, we desperately need a Center. Butler is OK as well, but he could be better. Walker is interesting.......For the most part, I liked his pass protection, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a run blocker. We desperately need a TE (there is no need to say more). Evans is definitely good enough as is Josh Reed in the Slot. We still need a #2 WR. Lynch is more than OK as well. I honestly think that behind a better O-Line he would be one of the very best in the entire league. Jackson is a nice compliment. So, when you take a look at all of this together, if the Bills want to be a Super Bowl Team, they need about 8 players or so. Now, you do not need ALL-PROS at every position, but we definitely have to find BETTER PLEAYERS at every one of those positions. But hey.......we handled Pittsburgh in the Preseason! Dick and Ralph probably think we are knocking on the door! HA!

WOW.... I really hope the guys is OK.

Lynch made that play. There were 3 Browns right now him and he made them miss then he made the rest of their team miss! GET LYNCH IN SPACE!!!! PS. Nice hustle by Peters at the end of that Lnch TD. He came diving in at about the 3 yard line and helped push the pile forward into the endzone. -

You know......I watched this earlier and was just puzzled as to what happened here. I kind of let it go and just thought he was probably protecting himself. BUT, I just watched this again and there was no way he was trying to avoid the player. If you watch the replay, not only did he not try to get out of the way, but he squared up to to the ball carrier, lowered his shoulder and INITIATED the contact!!!! He definately was trying to make the tackle. There is no doubt in my mind. Aside from wrapping up the ball carrier, he used perfect form! I am still trying to figure out why this happened, but why this is not a bigger deal in the media is beyond me. I am convinced he hit the player on purpose. -
I appreciate the defense, but as I said in my last post, I opened the new thread on purpose.......just a subtle jab at a lof of the newbies here. But yes, my information was new and it was not a rehash of everything else hapening. So, even though I made the thread as a joke, it still may be more worthy than all of the others here! HA!

Just said that on News 4 at 11 in regards to the TG trade....... While it would be great to get him, there is a reason big time trades do not happen often in the NFL. Not saying that it won't happen, but I just have a feeling it will be back to the season as it was after 4:00 tomorrow. That is not necessarily a bad thing. While TG would help this team, I still think the Bills can beat anyone in the league if they play their absolute best game. PS. With all that said, it would be great to get TG here.

HELP WITH BILLS CLASS PROJECT!!!!!

Thanks.....I mean there are a lot of words to descibe what the Bills are and what they represent.......but really, everything the Bills represent and mean come down to 1 thing..... Nothing means more..... BUFFALO -
Well, that is not what I really meant. I didn't mean to imply that Walker was not athletic. In fact, I believe just the opposite is true. I actually think he is a VERY athletic man, especially for his size. He can do everything you need to have an OT do and I believe he is very solid. I am not saying that he can't pull or move because he can. But let me ask you a question...... Do you think a man that is 6'8" and weighs 370lbs+ will move better side to side in and around people or straight ahead? I am not saying he can't do the former, but if he is pushing straight ahead and just killing the guy in front of him all day, I think this O-Line will be better. And I don't want to single out just Walker. Our O-Line averages something like 6'4 and 330lbs and is one of the biggest in the entire league. They would be better if you just turned them loose and let them maul the guy in front of them all day. A man to man blocking scheme would just be better for these particular players. Throw in some zone blocking here and there, but use these animals we have up front and just dominate the line of scrimmage play in and play out and this huge line will wear out defense very quickly. So, please don't take my comment the wrong way. These big men we have up front are very athletic and can move. But with their size and strength, they will be better moving straight ahead.
-
Very good. I have been calling for the Bills to get back to a more Man to Man blocking scheme for a while now. Right now, they are not using the physical size of our O-Line correctly. The guys we have up front have the size and strength to dominate a D-Line when going straight ahead. Right now, they are asking these massive linemen to run and move and they are just not made for that. Other than Peters, and maybe Dock, they do not have the required athleticism to make a zone scheme work as well as it can. This team needs to use its size and strength and just run through people.....not try to get around them. They started to use more man blocking in the second half of last year, but through the first 3 games, they are just not doing it as much as they should. A good example was the Lynch TD last week where the whole line ended up in the end zone! That is the kind of push this line could get going straight ahead. They don't need to be pulling Walker and Fowler, etc and have to have them move around. They just need to run right through the D-line and out physical and out muscle the D-Line. I am hoping they come to realize that they are not using the O-Line the way they should be.

What was the explanation for that simultaneous possession?
sven233 replied to Mickey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BINGO.......If Evans is down, there is no was to intercept a player down by contact and no way to cause a fumble either. THE REF BLEW THAT BIG TIME........ The ref also blew the pass interferance call on Evans as well long with several missed holding calls on the Raiders. The one play that would have made up for it of course they end up getting right on that tipped pass, but man.......the REFS WERE TERRIBLE today. -
Corner, McCargo, Ellis, Johnson Among Inactives.....

If he is being shopped and is inactive for the game, usually that means somehting is getting done soon...... But I wonder about Ellis and Corner as well. VERY STRANGE.
