[Edited Title] Lions v Bills 4th and 2 Decision
sven233 replied to IslandBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the grand scheme of things, a win or loss in that game didn't matter. Also, Allen had been playing well. Couple that with the fact that he has run for almost 500 yards this season, it doesn't really matter what the OL and WRs have been like. They are capable of getting 2 yards. They just didn't on that occasion Fact is, whether you get it or not, it is a 1 score game. It's the right call every time (unless it's really late in the game and a FG makes it a 1 score game instead of a 2 score game). -
[Edited Title] Lions v Bills 4th and 2 Decision

Just because a play doesn't work, doesn't mean that the decision to go for it was wrong. Two separate things. Teams leave way too many points on the field because they play scared and don't go for 4th and short as much as they should. Be aggressive. With an huge, elite athlete, at QB, picking up 4th and short will happen more often than not. As we add more talent, the ability to convert 4th and short should turn into a weapon for us. Take advantage of it. -

Barnwell: Progress Report on 2018 1st Round QBs
sven233 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stopped reading after the first line of the 2nd paragraph of Allen's section after he said " Instead, so far, the Bills have witnessed ... a less impressive version of Taylor." Wow..... He hasn't watched a single game. -
Nice video. It's a great weapon for him to have, especially in his rookie year to help him get through. However, I think we all want him to take a giant step forward in the passing game. Honestly, he already has taken a pretty big leap as compared to where he was in college, but he still has a ways to go. I will say this, though......if he can become a more consistent passer from the pocket, with his running ability, he could be a top 10 QB in the league in time. This offseason is going to be huge for him and hopefully he can put it together next season. Oh.....and he ran 4.75 at the combine. Whoever was coaching him as to how to run that 40 obviously didn't do a great job. He is faster than that time shows. The guy is pulling away from defensive ends and LBs. The only people I have seen catch him are CBs. Pretty impressive for a guy his size.

The Jags are a pretty pumped up bunch for a group that is down by 3 TDs with 6 minutes left.....

Unfortunately, in my opinion, and a lot of other draft guys as well, there really isn't an impact offensive player that should be drafted in the first half of this draft (1st Round, obviously). So, if the Bills end up in the top 10, they may have no choice but to draft a defensive player. That, or trade down, if possible, because the offensive value just isn't there this year.

Hell of a play. Not the best throw, but should have been a catch. Up and down day for Allen, but some good steps forward. -

Well, no matter what happens on 4th down, I like that Allen tried that throw. -

Allen should take a couple knees and then go hand the ball to Ramsey. -

Any play but a throw all the way down the field is a waste here. You're punting on 4th down anyway, so throw it all the way down the field and hope for a completion of a pass interference. No other play is acceptable here, especially when you have a QB that can throw the ball 75 yards. Just chuck it and hope for the best. -

Man.....what a game. Could you imagine if that was the Super Bowl? Unbelievable. As a Bills fan, I am not sure if this is fun to watch or depressing. We don't play the same sport as these teams do. -
Something tells me that there is a good chance he comes back to the practice squad....... It's not over until he signs somewhere else.

Week 10 Bills @ Jets second half thread

Adams seems to be celebrating quite a bit for a team that is down 4 touchdowns to a 2-7 football team that had trouble picking up first downs until today........ -
He has the strongest arm ever recorded at the combine. Not only were his combine numbers the best ever, but he topped those velocity numbers at the Senior Bowl. He has the strongest arm eve according the the numbers. But what does it really matter? You have to have so many other traits to be a successful QB. Throwing hard can only take you so far. It's whether or not he can figure out how to play the position that really matters.
-
How many points has he scored? I was talking about skilled players, moron. And how good is he, really? Just because he is the best lineman on a team that has terrible lineman doesn't make him great. Look, if you an others want to blindly follow this coaching staff and front office, that's fine. But I, along with many others, will wait for some type of evidence they know what they are doing. You do realize that Rex Ryan and his clown show has a better record than McDermott through the same amount of games, right?
-
The problem is this whole topic is about the confidence level we have in McDermott and Beane being successful in the next 2-3 years. They have shown, to this point, that they are nowhere near where any of us want to be. We lucked into the Playoffs last year and that is great to get that monkey off our back, but we were not a good team. This year, we are even worse. So, it's just hard to have any faith for the next 2-3 years until they show us something positive. Sure, the defense is better this year, but by how much? We've gotten blown out in half our games. And, as we have been discussing above, they have yet to prove they can identify any kind of offensive talent. At this point, it is on them to prove they know what they are doing and show us something tangible (offensive talent) so we can believe in them. This upcoming off season is the most important of their tenure here. If we put a similar product on the field next season with no real improvement, especially points scored, then how can anyone feel confident in them going forward?
-
You're a special kind of special and I feel sorry for you. You're constantly wrong and I just can't help your level of incompetence. You're worth nothing, especially my time.
-
You are definitely slow..... Do some research and tell me how many drafts McDermott has been here. Here.....I'll help you out. It's more than 1, but less than 3. Although, at your education level, that math may be too complicated for you.

How and Why The Bills Could Win Monday Night
sven233 replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a fan, we just don't want to be embarrassed. Therefore, on every offensive possession we should run the ball as much as possible while running the play clock under 3 seconds every play. Hopefully we can pick up a first down on most possessions and repeat this strategy as often as possible. That way the final score won't be completely embarrassing. Maybe we can lose 27-10 or something like that instead of 56-3. That said, this is not how players and coaches are thinking and they are going to try their best and hopefully keep it within 20 points that way. Anyone thinking we have a chance to actually win this game is fooling themselves. -
Dawkins is a good player. He isn't going to help score points, but a good player. I will say this. It may be hard to gauge just how good he is yet, though, because he is the best lineman on a team with below average lineman. He is going to stand out. Is he a top tackle in this league yet? No. But he is serviceable to this point and hopefully will keep getting better and I think is someone you can win with. They need another tackle, 2 guards, and a center, though!!! HA!
