  1. I like Wood (please refrain from the obvious joke)! There are a lot of great players still on the board. I think we are going to get a GREAT player in the 2nd!
  2. The more I think about it, i really think they may want Maybin to play LB. They could go DE here. We might know a little bit more in a few minutes. They have him listed as a LB on the page! EDIT: WOOD!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I agree! The more I look at it, I think they want him to play LB. I guess we might know more in a few minutes depending on who they take.
  4. MACK! This early? Like him, wanted him....but we can get a better player in the 2nd, maybe.
  5. I can't believe the didn't have to give up their 1st next year........ Basically a 2nd and a couple of OK players. If it were that cheap to move up that many spots, I can't believe more teams didn't offer more.
  6. While this list is pretty good, I think you have to have Owens and Evans higher on the list. Here is the way I look at it. If you like Owens AND Evans better than one of the receivers in the pairs above them, then you have to put them as a duo about that pair. For example, I think BOTH Evans and Owens are BETTER that Wes Welker (not to mention I think both are almost as good as Moss). Therefore, they must rank higher as a pair. Also, I would take Evans and Owens over either Ward or Holmes. Therefore, I place them ahead of that group as well. Where I get stuck is Fitz and Boldin. Fitz is the best there is in the entire league. Boldin is definitely at the same level (at least) as Owens and Evans, so they probably have to get the nod for now. If you look at it this way, there is no way Owens and Evans can be any worse than the 2nd best tandem in the league. Now, as another member pointed out, the difference may not come down to the WRs themselves, but rather who is throwing them the ball. I truly believe the talent level of Owens and Evans is at least 2nd in the league, but the QB that is going to be throwing them the ball is barely in the top half of the league. So, the stats may not be there as much as they could be if they had a better QB getting them the ball. But, if you are strictly talking talent, I will take Owens and Evans over Welker, Ward and Holmes. Not by much, but if I was starting a team, (in terms of talent....not counting the baggage attached with any of the players), I would take Owens and Evans over Welker, Ward, and Holmes. So, therefore I have them 2nd at this point.
  7. Like I said in an earlier post..... WHAT IS THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN? So, it doesn't work.....and what? The Bills miss the playoffs again???!!!!!!!!!! We haven't sniffed the playoffs in a decade!!! There is really no downside here. Making the Playoffs is what matters. You can't win the Super Bowl if you don't get into the tournament. The Bills haven't been in the tournament in what seems like forever. So, what is the worst that can happen? The Bills continue the playoff drought. This makes them a better team in many different ways. I think in the end this can only be looked at as a good move because they were no closer to making the playoffs without him here.
  8. Well put it this way, if TO signs, this might become the most interesting offseason in recent memory.... And what's the worst that can happen at this point if he signs? The Bills miss the playoffs..........AGAIN!!!! Maybe it is time to think outside the box a bit! Who knows? At least there would be some media attention in Buffalo for the first time in years. And like I said, if it doesn't work, there is no way it can be a step backwards because we haven't sniffed the playoffs in a decade.... Guess we will see what happens....
  9. Are you kidding?? That is easily one of the top 5-10 matches of ALL TIME!!!!! That was a fantastic match. Told a great story with fantastic in-ring work. Can't ask for more! Anyways, as for Waters, I would love the Bills to get him. He next to Peters would make up one of, if not the best left sides in the league. I don't want the Bills to go crazy here because the guy only has probably 2-3 more really good years, but I would definitely hope they do everything they can to get him (within reason).
  10. Put it this way... If I was starting a team and had my choice of ANY RB in the NFL, I would choose Lynch. Is he the most physically gifted or talented RB in the NFL? Probably not. But the entire package...the heart, the desire, and the passion he plays with trumps all of that. There is no doubt in my mind that behind a better O-Line that could actually open a hole now and then that Lynch could lead this league in rushing. Of course he will need to get the ball more. There is no reason that the Bills shouldn't be giving him the ball AT LEAST 24-25 times a game. But yes, if I was given a choice of RBs, I would pick Lynch. That may sound like I'm being a homer or whatever, but I watch a TON of football and have seen every RB in this league play a lot. Are there more talented back, probably yes. But is there another RB I would take first? Not a chance! FEED THE BEAST!!
  11. I guess we are almost good enough to go to the Super Bowl! HA! Anyway, back to reality, the Bills do have a long way to go to get to this level. They need better players and better coaching. It is probably going to be a few more years, at least, until we can even think about getting to this level. Is it possible to do it faster? Yes, but Ralph would have to open the wallet and get some top Free Agents, including guys like Suggs and Haynesworth. A dominant defense may be the most important ingredient to getting to a winning the Super Bowl. A solid QB would helps as well! Do the Bills have some Pieces on Defense? Sure. I think Stroud is it on the D-Line, but I think Poz and Mitchell are good enough at LB. McKelvin, McGee, Greer (If we somehow find a way to keep him) are good enough at CB. And, despite the bashing he takes, Whitner is good enough at FS. So, by my estimations, we need 2 DE's that can actually get to the QB (Schobel and Kelsay just can't get it done), 1 DT (Williams is a backup......not a starter no matter how hard he may work), 1 OLB, and a SS. So, there is a pretty big shopping list there. On offense, perhaps the #1 need is at CENTER. Without a dominant Center, you just can't do a lot of things. There is not a Center on this roster that is good enough. Again, although he takes a beating around here, Peters is good enough. Dockery could be a lot better, but let's face it.....for the money they paid him, he will have to do. As I mentioned, we desperately need a Center. Butler is OK as well, but he could be better. Walker is interesting.......For the most part, I liked his pass protection, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a run blocker. We desperately need a TE (there is no need to say more). Evans is definitely good enough as is Josh Reed in the Slot. We still need a #2 WR. Lynch is more than OK as well. I honestly think that behind a better O-Line he would be one of the very best in the entire league. Jackson is a nice compliment. So, when you take a look at all of this together, if the Bills want to be a Super Bowl Team, they need about 8 players or so. Now, you do not need ALL-PROS at every position, but we definitely have to find BETTER PLEAYERS at every one of those positions. But hey.......we handled Pittsburgh in the Preseason! Dick and Ralph probably think we are knocking on the door! HA!
  12. Just goes to show how different each league can be! Here I win the championship in one of the leagues (Buffalo Blitz) and come in 8th place in another!!!! I guess that is the way it goes! I am already looking forward to next season!
  13. Hey guys! Well, I am just writing to thank R. Rich and all of the players in this year's league! I actually was able to come out with the Championship this season even after stumbling through the year and squeaking into the playoffs!!!! I guess it just goes to show that Fantasy Football is all about players getting hot at the right time and I was pretty lucky this year! I just wanted to write and tell you that I had a blast this year and am looking forward to next seson!!!!! I LOOK FORWARD TO REPEATING AS CHAMPION IN 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA! Better luck next year guys!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
  14. But it's "TOUGH TO WIN IN THIS LEAGUE!!!"
