  1. You and I both know the guy won't even be on the Bills roster come the first game in regulation next year. He is going to get bounced. He will land somewhere else as a backup and eventually fade out of the NFL entirely. Take the bag of hammers while the offer is still on the table. It is the best you are gonna do for that chump. Dude sucks. He is like 10x worse than Tyrod. And Tyrod isn't good enough.
  2. It is also possible they take a QB that nobody (or almost nobody) is talking about. Maybe a guy who is not from a popular school but they believe has all the tools. And maybe they even trade down and still get him. Or perhaps the take LB or DE or DT with first two picks and get their guy in the second. I just hope they are able to get the guy they really want.
  3. Because professional sports guys who make a living (writing/reporting/talking/analyzing/opining on) football don't watch NFL playoff games live?
  4. Think about this too: In high school a player can be the best at their position based on physical talent alone. In college - physical ability still trumps intelligence by a lot, but intelligence starts to become a factor depending on the position In the pros - intelligence becomes a much more significant factor because everyone is physically gifted at every position and sometimes the schemes get more complicated So, in the pros, the elite players are the ones who have enough of both physical ability and mental capacity along with the desire to master their craft. Then they put in enough effort and become franchise guys. Some college guys simply aren't smart enough or have enough desire to make it a professional career. They aren't smart enough or too lazy. The NFL weeds them out unless their physical talent is so superior that it allows them to overcome lack of intelligence/desire.
  5. Obviously some learn faster than others. Some learn their craft much more deeply and thoroughly than others. It comes down to a combination of these things I think: 1) Level of intelligence/mental capacity 2) Where/How/Who they are learning from 3) Person's desire to learn & effort put into it 4) Physical ability (how well they see the field, how well they sense pressure, how well they manage the pocket) In your own job/profession you may choose to show up and put in your time or you may choose to show up and actively work at becoming the very best person at your craft. If you have the desire to learn it as masterfully as possible, then you will spend every waking moment thinking about it and learning about it. Therefore you master it much more quickly. If you show up and just put in your time every day without that desire, you may never get really good at it.
  6. Every QB who isn't making $17 million in 2018 and won't cost a draft pick. McCown would be the most practical I would think. Gives you slightly less ability than Smith perhaps - but not enough dropoff to care. I just don't see the Bills building a dominant offense with Smith. So, I wouldn't pay much for him. I don't see them building a dominant offense with any of the other rentals either. But, you can get some of those guys cheap. If the Bills have a dominant offense in 2 or 3 years it will be because they drafted a kickass QB this year. There is a small chance they become a dominant offense with some existing veteran who surprises to the upside like AJ McCarron perhaps. I just think that likelihood is much smaller than hitting in the draft.
  7. No way. They are way better around here. It's not even close.
  8. The problem with your logic is that every other team in the NFL is thinking they are going to improve by a game or two at least. Every team upgrades each year - at least they try to. So your upgraded team is playing against other upgraded teams = parity. To get ahead of other teams you need to take a step ahead (while they stay where they are) or (while they take a step back). If the other teams take a step ahead in some areas, then you need to take two steps ahead to actually get better than them. Get it? Every year, Bills fans assume that because of improvements the Bills make in the off-season they are automatically going to have a better record the next year. It doesn't work that way. You have to improve much more than your opponents because most opponents are also improving.
  9. 21 and 22 plus other picks? 21 and 22 are both starters - very good ones if you evaluate properly. Then the other picks are bonuses. They would be nuts not to do it. Unless they want a QB or unless some other team offers even more. If they want a QB that they know will be a top pick, then there is no way in hell they do it. Or if Cleveland takes the QB the Giants wanted and the Giants don't want one of the other top guys then yes they do it. I can't imagine what other position you could want a guy at bad enough to not take that trade.
  10. If they don't want to take a QB, they would be insane not to do it.
  11. I'm pretty sure Savior Pete and Dingle-berry Don from Dunkirk get together for coffee in the mornings. Don just sits in the booth at McDonalds telling Pete how great Dunkirk Don is. Pete looks at him with his best Rainman face and tells him how concerned he is. Pete thinks Don should be more miserable. He is encouraging Don to grow his beard longer and eat more donuts. They make quite a pair. The best part is that their super secret sources they won't tell anyone about are "each other". Don has been seen buying up swampland at the one end of Chataqua Lake. Owners have been selling their swampland since the algea blooms have overrun the lake. Don says he is gonna be rich. His insider friend says the state is going to build a fish hatchery there with restaurants and shopping centers included. It's going to be crazy awesome like all of the sweet-ass hotels and shopping centers currently surrounding Rich Stadium. The hatchery will be east of Lake Erie for those trying to speculate and get rich like Don. But shhhhh. Don't tell anyone.
  12. Based on your avatar and your sexual fantasies I would venture to guess you are a violent man. Too much time around the cons perhaps?
  13. It is just my opinion. I don't know about OC's working with him or not. I am just saying he is a dickhead - a poor human being - and overrated as a quarterback. And he is incapable of leading his team to win the big one. Because he is an emotionally spoiled loser. Just my opinion of course. On a per pas basis, his stats are not very amazing at all. In fact, very sub par in some seasons.
  14. Bridgewater is a high percentage short pass West Coast guy by design. It is what he did in college. I thought he would be a good fit for Dennison because Dennison doesn't like his QB to go deep. He likes dinks and dunks and short crossing routes. That is what you are going to get with Bridgewater and nothing else. If that is what you want, he is your guy. If you hate the short passing game, he is not your guy.
  15. It was meant to be a meaningless post - troll ish if you will. When you see me make a statement like that - assume there is an ulterior motive. Take note of who I am responding to.
  16. Cam is an overconfident loser. Nowhere near as good as people make him out to be. Flashes of excellence and flashes of complete fecal stank.
  17. I bet it still does with women over 50?
  18. Is she married? Can she make pierogi?
  19. Doable definitely. It would be better if she was topless while doing this. But keep the sunglasses on. Oh yeah.
  20. What bet did you lose that you are stuck wearing Jauronimo's avatar? Can you point to any evidence whatsoever (other than the guy's title) that Castillo was in charge of the running game? Because coming into Buffalo - all that was talked about was how Dennison was bringing his outside zone running attack to Buffalo. I don't recall it ever being mentioned anywhere that this offensive running scheme was in any way designed by or decided by Castillo. When asked about it, Dennison answered all the questions regarding the running attack and the failure of it. Dennison was the one (if I recall correctly) who was explaining that they were going to be going back to more of the running plays the Bills ran last year and less of what they were doing more recently. I am sure Castillo shares in the blame. I am not in any way convinced he deserves most of the blame over Dennison. Castillo wasn't the one calling the outside zone run in the playoff game.
  21. Groovy!
  22. If Dennison is not responsible for the running game, then why did they make such a big deal announcing the new heavy emphasis on the outside zone runs that Dennison was bringing to Buffalo? You don't go out of your way talking about how Dennison is going to modify the running offense if Dennison is delegating that responsibility over to Juan Castillo. But I am totally fine with canning them both. Or are we too late? Execution of Juan Castillo scheduled for December 14th Doh!
  23. Until he throws 8 picks in his first preseason game. And gets yanked. Then you will wish you had taken that offer for the bag of hammers.
  24. No. But I would take Maren Morris in the deal.
