  1. Wish we could have seen Glenn play RT a couple games this season to see if he is the right fit there. The coaches probably have a pretty good idea whether he would excel there or not. And yet we didn't see him playing there with Kujo at LT even though Kujo has shown well there. You would think they would have experimented if they were truly that concerned about RT. If you are going to trade him you better get a 1st. And you better hit with your 1st because Cordy is a good player. Not every player drafted works out to be a starter. Scratch that - Cordy's dead cap for 2017 is $21.8 million - He's not going anywhere next year.
  2. I bet you anything he would be talking if he was 100% convinced he was going to be here next year and if the Bills were treating him like a franchise QB. The Bills aren't. They are treating him like a business asset. He is likewise treating his current status with the team as he is just a business asset that could be moving to another team at any time. Can't blame him.
  3. Yes. Tells you he has a winning attitude and internal drive to turn himself into a better player. Love that. Hope he becomes a truly great one playing for the Bills. One of the worthwhile things to watch for Sunday.
  4. This offense is very close to being a truly dominant offense in the NFL. I think that is what players are referring to when they say Buffalo is close. I think there is room for upside in both the running (I know - already damn good) and the passing game. And I think we will see it next year - if they get the right coaches and minor personnel changes. The NFL will be like WTF is up with that Bills offense. Of course you have to be able to play defense too. But how could this defense NOT take a step forward next year.
  5. If Whaley gets Tyrod to renegotiate a new contract that leaves the Bills a way to cut him cheaply after one more year then Whaley will be the best negotiator in the NFL. And that would be the only reason to renegotiate Tyrod's contract. Tyrod would really, really, really have to love Buffalo to be that generous and take that risk. And that would mean they would probably eat a LOT of Cap money next year with the new contract if they wanted to be able to cut him after one year.
  6. The trend is your friend as stock traders would say.
  7. I think you make a good case. Gus probably needs a break from the NFL for a year or so anyway. He is too used to losing. Gotta wash the stank off first.
  8. Yo are correct about the cap and he is cheap if he is the starting QB on the team. The one point you are missing though is that because of his dead cap money, the Bills won't be in a position where they can cut him after a year if it doesn't work out. His dead cap money balloons as soon as they pick up the option. The Bills will not be able to afford to cut him for a bare minimum of 2 years probably 3 unless they magically have a lot of cap space then. It will make him un-movable like Dareus is right now. So the decision isn't whether they want him next year (there is zero doubt they want him next year - everybody does except for 4 people on this board). The decision is whether they want to be married to him for 3 years. Being married to him for 3 years is a decision the new coach will make. Because if they pick up the option, that new coach will probably be betting his coaching career in Buffalo on Tyrod succeeding here. Huge decision for new coach.
  9. That's just because they are one of the few teams New England worries about losing to every year when it matters. Love it. Makes me want to cheer for the Steelers now knowing Pats fans hate them that much. You probably hate Baltimore and Denver too huh?
  10. Pretty much every year, the Bills miss the playoffs by a game or two that were decided by one play. The difference is the teams in the playoffs made those plays and the Bills didn't. They are almost always "close". And that is because of the widespread parity in the league. My logical brain tells me that yes we could fix the defense, bring back the same offense, and then go to the playoffs pretty easily. But then I remind myself that the next season never really plays out like you thought. With the coaching changes happening we have absolutely no idea what offense or defense is going to show up next year or what they will look like. We don't even know who the QB is going to be. For all we know, next year the DEFENSE could be top 10 again and the offense could drop off a cliff. Maybe finally they can put together a slightly above average version of both. But I'm not holding my breath.
  11. He had to pass a physical to be able to play with his hernia already. Sooooooo, I think you guys don't need to worry. Minor outpatient surgery. Yippie skippy. He will pass his physical. The doc will say take it easy for a couple days.
  12. Using the same calculations as above but over 17 years I get 0.000104854 = 52427/500000000 What are the Bills or any NFL team's odds of missing the playoffs 17 years in a row? What is 52427 in 500 million? or approximately 1 in 9,537
  13. Pegulas have opened up their wallets - wide freaking open the last couple years. Like WIDE OPEN.
  14. Wouldn't it be? Odds of missing playoffs in division = 3/4 minus odds of being a conference wildcard team = 2/12 Convert to common fractions 3/4 = 9/12 9/12 - 2/12 = 7/12 or 58.333333% chance of missing the playoffs each year calculated over 16 years? which would equal .000179750 which translates into 719/4000000 or 719 chances in 4 million Where is the math wrong? What are the odds of the Bills or any NFL team missing the playoffs 16 years in a row? Final Answer = What is 719 in 4 million Alex? or if you want to approximate it = 1 in 5563 Quick, somebody email Matt Patricia and ask him if I am right.
  15. Kenny Chesney can go back. http://youtu.be/MdeSLxz5TTE
  16. I'm a Notre Dame fan and I don't want him.
  17. I did a poor job of expressing what I meant. Sorry if I offended. For the record I truly believe every legal paying job is honorable as a job. I just hate opinionated sports reporters. I like the ones that hide their opinion or at least try.
  18. Gunslinger is the wrong word I guess. I remembered the Bears setting passing records. "In his first year, the Bears offense had the second-best scoring offense in the league with 445 points, The offense also broke team records in total yards (6,109), passing yards (4,450), passing touchdowns (32) and first downs (344)." In 2013 as coordinator his offense ranked #24 in number of running plays and 16 in number of passing plays. In 2014 as coordinator his offense ranked #27 in number of running plays and 15 in number of passing plays. He is definitely more slanted towards throwing the ball. But he is certainly more balanced than what the Bills were this year. Bills - # 2 in running plays - tied for last place in number of passing plays. Maybe Kromer is strong in the run game, but the stats show he prefers throwing the ball. Not saying that is a bad thing. Just different from what Lynn did. And if Lynn agrees to throw the ball more - maybe it would be a good fit.
  19. Is it really abuse or is it more like giving the squirrel a chance to know what its like to be a bird?
  20. And of those quarterbacks, EJ is probably the best one. Yep. Saw that whole scapegoat setup unfolding. Exactly why Nix waited to step down.
  21. lol. And more shows that do funny things to small furry animals like squirrel launchers and such.
  22. Yes. I agree. Bills should crush them regardless of who the Bills QB is or running back is. The Jet's have thrown in the towel on the season completely. I am hoping the Bills play EJ for just a short while and that the Jest play Fitz for a short while, and then they put in the 3rd stringer QB's to fist fight their way to zero points. Should be a good game to multitask during like beer and shots and the same time.
  23. I didn't mean to suggest that I thought it was bad to have Lynn calling Parcells for advice. Quite the opposite. It is wicked smart and awesome. I was just pointing out that the one "great idea" of simplifying the playbook was Parcell's idea. Lynn still gets credit for taking the advice and acting on it. So props to him. As to your second part about Kromer, I really doubt that Kromer and Lynn share the same thoughts about how to build and run an offense. Lynn is a ground and pound running back centric Rex guy - or so we have been led to believe. Kromer is a gunslinger guy from New Orleans and Bears. Total opposites I would think. Not sure that works. Like expecting Republicans and Democrats to come to a common sense compromise. - lol Kromer will certainly want a more pass centric offense than Lynn would. Or so one would logically think. Would that preclude Lynn from choosing Kromer? Don't know. And if they did work together, would they see eye to eye on what adjustments to make? Big questionmark. Maybe they would though. And maybe it would work. Who knows.
