Pagans who worship the partical sun are the very same people who created Valentimes Day. Be careful, it's a doggy dog world out there. When I am in Chinatown I order Brew Right at the bar.

Is that a Fro-comb stuck in his head? How can you take a guy seriously when he has a fro-comb stuck in his head? -
Yep. The guys who sit home and turn the TV off when the game isn't going their way have no problem telling the Bills to tank a season. Hate to break it to them, but there are tens of thousands of people who pony up anywhere from $500-10,000 or more each year to watch that team try to WIN games at home. Tanking is for losers. When you Tank you are intentionally screwing the people who pay big money to come to your games. It isn't just unethical. It is also stupid because you can't guarantee you will be any better after tanking. The traits an organization needs to possess to build a winning team are the same whether you finished the previous season undefeated or 0-16 - the exact same. No matter where you start from, you still have to be able to spot and also develop talent. There is zero reason why the Bills need to tank first in order to do that.

You need to focus your energy on "making the tailgate great again" instead of "making the Bills great again". If you focus on the tailgate, something you have more control over, you can build a winner. Then you can invite your friends to the game with you and bask in the glory of what you have created - even if the Bills throw up yet another highly disappointing season. -
Personally, I think the Bills could build a Superbowl caliber team with either Tyrod or Cousins. I happen to think they are closer to doing it with Tyrod than they would be to pay big money for Cousins and try to piece together a team around him. So yes, I would keep Tyrod, draft another qb, upgrade receivers and o-line - and fix the defense as best you can. If they did that, you would have a team that could be truly dominant, could win big games on the road even against the top teams in the league which they will face next year. You have no idea what those other teams are going to look like in 2018. It won't be as it appears right now. You can bet on that.

Hire an experienced coach who brings in talented, experienced and proven coordinators. Retain Tyrod in some way. Upgrade talent at Safety, Offensive Line, Wide Receiver, Corner, Linebacker During his first press conference after being hired, the head coach says something like this: "This Bills roster as it sits right now is already a playoff caliber team. The main reason we weren't in the playoffs this year is because of the collapse of the defense during certain games. We are going to make big changes on the defense in terms of scheme, by returning to a simple system that allows defensive players to showcase their talent. We will upgrade the talent on defense at certain key positions where we need it most. We will tweak the offensive scheme to be more effective in the passing game. Sammy Watkins will be getting the ball a lot more often next year. I think we can accomplish those improvements in one year. If we are able to accomplish this, the Bills will be a contender immediately. And that is exactly what I intend to do." That would get me excited. -
I take this from the viewpoint that the Pegulas are good decent people and don't like to do things that could potentially harm someone if it isn't warranted. They probably realize that by having Lynn coach his very first NFL game and then handicapping him isn't exactly going to help the guy's career. They sat him up for a high chance of failure in that game and they probably regret that because that is what a decent person would think. If they really like the guy as a person, which I assume they do, then it is easy to see why they would feel bad about handicapping him for his very first day at a new job. I bet it was more about that then anything else.
-
Why do you give the guy free publicity then if you hate him so much? You are doing him a favor by doing this. Better to just ignore him if you want him to go away.
-
Everyone with any reasonable amount of intelligence has already come to that conclusion. Yep. And Cousins market value is projected to be about $23.4 million per year if he is signed to a 5 year deal with someone. He would be way more expensive than Tyrod to the tune of about $7 million more per year. You can upgrade the team at other positions substantially with that extra $7 million.

Biggest Reason for 2016 Failure

Yep . Simple. Defense. No question about it. -
I have a sinking feeling...
PolishDave replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. You just do what the Bills did for the last Jets game. That seemed to work perfectly. Barack Obama would come to the games and say - we can tank - Yes We Can! -
Yes he is insane. NIce.

Funny thing is I was raging about it in the other thread because I literally overlooked that sentence a bunch of times. I read that article several times and missed it every time. Doh! I thought that Virgil guy must be a real dick-head for posting made up crap. Doh! Crow = yummy. Foot in mouth = yummy. -

Thank you for pointing that out and making it bold. Don't know how I missed that. And now I feel dumb like Homer Simpson. Doh! -

Dude. The Schefter post was made up. Schefter never said that. That entire thread is based on a lie. Go look. Schefter never said what that poster claimed he said. For some reason that Virgil guy decided to make it up. It is not a story at all. It is completely false. Go read Schefter's article. -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
PolishDave replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. There is no guarantee you hit the right guy in the draft. It is a massive risk. That is why I think it is dumb to do it. Not just dumb, but irresponsible really. That would be the smart path you would think. Provides the highest chance of doing well every season for next several. Yep. Same risk as EJ. And there would be a real risk of taking big steps backward in both the running and passing game. They would be risking total disaster and Whaley's job. If they had a 2-14 season because of really bad quarterback play, then Whaley gets the ax, even though it would only be next year. -
Have folks already given up on Cardale?
PolishDave replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on man. Not happening. The guy couldn't beat EJ in a competition yet. And the short time he was in during the Jets game showed how "not-ready" Cardale still is. There is nearly zero chance he is starter next year at the beginning of the season. The only way the Bills do that is if they want to lose badly and Whaley wants to get fired. It would be a miracle if Cardale improved that much over the next 6 months. -

They would move up in the draft (mortgaging the future again) and draft whoever the best QB is at that spot. Patrick Mahomes I would speculate assuming he is still available wherever they draft.
