  1. Rating a Qb on wins and losses as the primary way to measure him is pretty silly in my opinion. The quarterback (whoever it is) should be judged relative to other quarterbacks in the league as well as relative to the other major factors affecting his play - like the rest of the team he is surrounded with.
  2. It takes 2 things to win in the NFL Players and Winning
  3. Cautiously optimistic. I am very confident that we will see a radically improved run defense in one year alone. I am afraid we will get absolutely shredded by the Patriots 2 games next year, which will once again leave the Bills competing for a wild card at best. And I simply don't understand why Crossman was retained. Obviously these coaches see something in him that fans don't.
  4. This is what I am thinking too. Bills need an upgrade from Goodwin. Don't care if he stays if he is below #3 on depth chart. But Bills need a better starter with better ball skills and catching radius than Goodwin offers.
  5. You would think those guys are a bunch of Frenchmen with the way they want to surrender before the action has even happened. One thing you CAN bet on is that next season won't play out exactly as people expect. There will be some teams that are surprisingly better than expected and some surprisingly worse. If the Bills improve enough on both offense and defense anything is possible. Sooner or later the Buffalo Bills will have another era of exceptionally good football. And the first year or two of that era - Bills fans will still be doubting it is going to happen. No reason why next year can't be year one of that new era.
  6. If they were already on the fence about retiring, then yeah maybe your idea makes sense. I thought Brady said he intends to play for years to come? He isn't ready to retire. And he might not even be as close as people think. I hope the Patriots get blown out in the most embarrassing Superbowl ever. I don't think that is going to happen, but that would be very enjoyable.
  7. ok. what is JAG?
  8. Packers concede with that much time left? Weak.
  9. steamrollers
  10. Tunnel run could have drawn an unsportsmanlike conduct flag.
  11. saw that touchdown coming when Greenbay stacked the line of scrimmage.
  12. It was obvious that the player rolling into the endzone was intentional. His leg did hit the endzone unintentionally though before he chose to roll into the endzone. However, I though the rule was based on the position of the football, not where the player's body parts were. When the ball is live - like on a kickoff - if the player stands on the goal line and falls forward to the 1 or 2 yard line while keeping his feet in the endzone, the ball is still considered advanced to the one or two wherever the ball ended up. I don't see how that would be any different on a fumble. It is still a live ball. I'd love to see a ref explain what the rule is that has to do with his leg touching the endzone. If it is based on the position of the football, then I don't see how that could have been called anything but a safety.
  13. Who still thinks Matt Ryan isn't elite? You could challenge the spot. Then again, maybe not. I don't know. Seems like the Green Bay bench should have been making a stink about it. Wonder if they were?
  14. Oh, I am sure they will make excuses for it. I want Atlanta to win anyway because I think they are more likely to beat the Patriots, but Green Bay got boned by the refs there. It was quite obvious that the guy was down and laying on the one yard line then chose to roll backwards. That defender is an idiot though. He should have cost his team 2 points and a possession. Total luck on his part. Almost as dumb as Mike G not realizing a kickoff is a live ball. Doh!
  15. defender recovered the fumble on the one yard line. Then rolled backwards into the endzone intentionally where he gave himself up. Should be a safety. Like on a kickoff, once the ball is possessed past the goal line - if you go backwards into the endzone and get tackled, it is a safety.
  16. That's gotta be a safety. WTF?
  17. Classy Patriots fans. Guy is probably friends with Brady's ball boy. Maybe it was just his attempt to get his foot in the door with the Patriots organization. He will add that to his resume.
  18. You will be here all day trying to talk common sense and stats to the Tyrod haters. It would just be easier if they would come out and just say that they just hate him for reasons they don't want to admit publicly. And no I am not suggesting race. They just hate the guy. Because anyone who watches the games and then looks at the stats would come to the same conclusion you have (or close to it anyway). Great post by the way. You explain things very convincingly. Oh..and....You can't fix stupid.
  19. That was Riki Ellison not Dennison. And damn that Bills team was great on offense. So glad I lived through that to experience it first hand.
  20. I think Whaley's biggest risk to his job is releasing Tyrod and having Tyrod lead his next team to the playoffs while the Bills miss the playoffs again. That would probably piss off the Pegulas as Terry has admitted (if I recall correctly) to liking Tyrod as a Qb. Only way Whaley would get away with it, in my opinion, is if 1) something happened to Tyrod (season ending injury) on that other team 2) if that other team ended up sucking more with Tyrod than the Bills would likely suck without Tyrod. 3) The Bills make the playoffs next year with a different quarterback leading them I don't think any of those scenarios is very likely. Whaley's safe bet is to pick up the option for Tyrod and hope this coach can go around 500 or better with him next year even with all the other changes. That is why I expect them to lean towards picking up Tyrod's option rather than letting him walk.
  21. If you want a pure pocket passer - Luke Falk is your guy.
  22. And the olympic sports of course. At least you have a substantial number of different countries competing in those sports against each other directly. They can proudly call themselves world champions. Until they introduce American football to the olympics or at least have a handful of countries with teams competing against each other, only then could you really call them world champions. Until then it is pompous arrogance at its finest on display to the rest of the world at a high level. And it sucks that they do it. But there are bigger problems to worry about in life of course.
  23. I think an awful lot of people agree that there shouldn't be public money involved in funding sports such as the NFL. How do you stop it though? NFL owners are not going to forgo billions of dollars of free public money investments when it is being offered to them. How do you stop it?
  24. I hear this guy is a pretty good quarterback's coach:
  25. Makes you wonder how many more points the Bills offense would have scored this year if the defense and special teams had been a little better.
