  1. Would be weird having daddy as a coach again though. Can you think of any other situations where it was father and son with coaching and players in the NFL?
  2. You and a lot of other people bud. And nothing beats when the Bills beat them as rare as that happens lately.
  3. I'm guessing he is good buddies with Leslie Frazier from Tampa Bay time.
  4. Agree on the Giants Superbowl where they ended a perfect Pats season - that was friggin stellar. There have been a number of close Superbowls too. Of course #25 - can't get much closer than that. There was the Tennessee vs. Rams Superbowl where the Titan's came up short on the very last play. That was epic. And the games BADOL mentioned.
  5. Maybe, but I really doubt it. I think they are going to be a contender in the NFC for at least the next few years. Once they really learn how to play defense, that team is going to be quite exceptional. They played good defense in the playoffs up until somewhere in the 3rd quarter of the Superbowl. During the regular season though, their defense wasn't all that great. Hopefully they are not so great when the Bills play them.
  6. I love his creative use of the "F" word. Bravo chap bravo!
  7. I hate when the team I am rooting for does that. Drives me friggin insane. Why try a low percentage play in a drive killing situation. Run the damn ball for the yard. Spread the field and QB sneak behind your best run blocker on the line. That is one thing that drives me nuts about statue quarterbacks. Go get your friggin yard you meat head.
  8. If they only knew....it really could happen.
  9. Here's a chuckle.... "Worst collapse in the HISTORY OF SPORTS. Dude we didn't just lose. The franchise got set back 10-15 years." Wouldn't it be ironic if they missed the playoffs for like......the next 15-20 years or something..... Some over-reactions prove true.
  10. If you feel like you need a little pain relief from the recent Superbowl, visit the Falcon's forum and read what their fans are saying. WARNING*** Some of the content you are about to read may cause flashbacks Here are some starter threads: Kyle says he blew it Worst loss in sports history will define us Can we please cut the crap Falcons produce choke job for the ages Remember, no matter how bad things seem they are at this moment, there is a pretty good chance appear worse than they really are!
  11. He did make a couple of completely boneheaded playcall decisions in second half when the Falcons were in striking distance of putting the game away. Really, amateurish play calls that show his head was up his ass instead of properly managing a game winning situation.
  12. Could be. $85 million contract on the line give or take (annual salary over 5 years + bonus money) When I imagine what it would be like to be in his shoes. I imagine the dude's stomach is probably full of jumping jellybeans every time he thinks about his current situation. There is no guarantee of anything in the NFL. If he isn't worried about $85 million then he should go play poker for a living when he is done in the NFL.
  13. The longer the front office waits to talk to Tyrod, the more pressure there is on Tyrod to negotiate a new contract with the Bills. I assume that is probably why they are silent. It is a negotiation tactic used in business. Tyrod will sit and stew on the idea that maybe the Bills will find some other option to go with and that nagging anxiety could potentially make him agree to negotiation talks. If he agrees to negotiation talks, then that means he is willing to take a pay cut of some sort. to remain here as the starter.
  14. Tyrod wants to start. Even if not here in Buffalo, he still wants to start, very, very badly. He has said in the past (if I recall correctly) that he was a bit miffed at where he was drafted and thought that he should have gone much higher. He has carried that chip on his shoulder and wants to prove every team (besides Baltimore of course) that they were wrong for not drafting him. His agent is surely keeping his ears open to know how much demand there is in the market for Tyrod and what his potential landing spots might be if released from the Bills. I suspect that Tyrod will only want to go to a place where he can start at QB right away. If there are no other options besides Buffalo where he could be a starter, then he will very likely (in my opinion) be open to negotiating a new contract for a little less money or maybe fewer years at more money than his current option would have him at. If we hear that he has negotiated for a new contract here in Buffalo, then you can bet there probably wasn't that much interest from other teams where he is likely to start. If the Bills just outright release him, then we will probably see him get a decent contract with some other team who is going take a shot starting him and/or perhaps build around him.
  15. I'd love to see proof of that. Got any links? And easy compared to what? Certainly not Jim Schwartz's defense.
  16. Grow up. WTF is wrong with you? You act like a spoiled little kid who has no friends. Get a life man. Seriously.
  17. Sorry for your loss dude. May god ease your pain. Prayers for Danny and your family.
  18. Of course they need to have the physical tools. That's how you pick your prospects. I think the coaching situation ought to be like a very strong mentorship where the coach and prospect spend an awful lot of time together completely immersed in training for months at a time back to back where that coach can really mold the prospect. And that coach would have the best idea of whether that prospect is going to make it to NFL franchise QB level or not. And I would want to have one coach that fit that mold for each QB prospect I was trying to develop. I think a large percentage of the QB's drafted in any draft ultimately have the tools they need to become franchise or even elite quarterbacks. I think the thing that separates them the most is their ability to learn quickly. If the QB learns quickly, then a team may stick with them long enough for them to break out. If they don't learn fast enough, they get kicked to the curb even though they could very well turn into an excellent QB.
  19. How to develop a quarterback: In the off season - 1) Find a coach who has played the position at a high level - preferably with NFL quarterbacking experience. And that coach has to have a proven track record of developing quarterbacks. 2) Assemble a practice squad of players to mimic every NFL position on offense and defense. 3) Prospect works with coach 5 days a week learning every bit of knowledge that coach has and drilling techniques day in and day out on the field under simulated real game situations. 4) Drill plays repeatedly under zero pass rush until the quarterback can complete them successfully repeatedly almost without fail. 5) Then introduce a pass rush from points of attack according to the tendencies of the other teams in your division. Drill the same plays until the QB can execute the same plays repeatedly even when under duress from that pass rush. 6) Play the guy in preseason to see if he can execute the same things he has drilled all offseason and during camp.
  20. It would actually be cool if the Bills did a video and put it up at BuffaloBills.com that showed how Cardale has improved at the position from camp till now assuming he has. - Would be a good PR move. Would give fans more optimism about Cardale. Or maybe they are saving that for the day they part ways with Tyrod. March 10th, 2017 Whaley picks up phone - dials Commandant Goebbels - "Release the video." We must prepare the masses for when we name Cardale the starter.
  21. I changed my mind. Instead of moving down, I say we move up to 2 and draft Dalton Parks - punter from Tulsa. I would have said we should draft Sam Loy from Vanderbilt but he is only a freshman. SUPERBOWL!
  22. It is entirely possible he has improved immensely from college. I don't know because I think I only saw him play one game in college - and to be honest I don't remember his play from there. I was talking about improving over the course of last season. The only thing any fan has to go on is what they saw in preseason and what they saw in the Jet's game. And in my opinion he looked better in a couple quarters in preseason. I know it is a very small sample size. He might very well have gotten better and just not shown it in that Jet's game. Maybe he does show it in practice. I am merely questioning how any fan (in this case - you) can claim definitively that he has improved meaningfully (if at all) from preseason to the Jet's game. How in the world could you tell from that Jet's performance. That was not good quarterbacking by any stretch. During part of his last preseason performance he was extremely decisive and forcing the ball to receivers which was working at points. Part of his preseason was very unimpressive too. But he looked better at points in preseason than at any point in his limited time in the Jet's game. That's why I question when you made the statement about what the coaches are seeing. You made that stuff up about the coaches saying "They see improved footwork throughout the year; improved ball placement throughout the year, the ability to grasp a fairly simple NFL passing system and the courage to throw into any window with literally a rocket arm."
  23. FYI - Tyrod isn't commanding a ton of cap money if extended. In fact he is on the cheap side for a starting QB. If his performance improves over this past year (which is very likely assuming he has healthy quality receivers) then you will have an even better bang for your buck. Signing a cheap (proven not good) veteran QB like Hoyer will be seen as tanking. No way around it. 90% of football fans (whether Buffalo fans or not) would agree that Hoyer is a substantial downgrade compared to Tyrod. Even if they aren't right about whether he is a downgrade or not, it doesn't matter. The perception of the downgrade is there as soon as the Bills make that move. And because of that perception, fans will say - the Bills are tanking. Analysts will say it on national media channels like NFL channel and ESPN. It will get called into question immediately. It is about as obvious as it can get. If they were going to do that, they may as well just admit it and start Cardale or some rookie they draft this year. If they went and got somebody like Romo - at least they would have a leg to stand on when they said they were trying to upgrade. But somebody who already had his shot and failed like Hoyer - nope. They won't convince people that is an honest effort. They will be admitting they want to lose. If they move on from Tyrod and they want to sell tickets this year, then they are going to have to bring in a big name rookie like Watson or else a big name veteran like Romo (or his equivalent).
  24. Joe, how do you know what they see? You just made that up. You have no idea what they see unless you are there with them watching it listening to what they say. Come on man.
  25. Your train of thought is very logical. Can't say that I disagree with any of it. Just don't know anything about these new coaches yet. And we don't know what the QB pool is going to look like for the Bills in training camp. Those are the wildcards. I have no issue whatsoever keeping a project guy with huge upside as QB #3. Condition: (He continues to improve at a reasonable rate.)
