  1. Trust me - Rush is NOT going to get a team. At the end of the day, too many players will refuse to play for him. This will end as a potential labor issue. There are some ramifications in life to making your living as a politial and racial lightning rod. It AIN'T gonna happen.
  2. His story makes sense to me. Selling the team to interests who want to move to LA makes much more financial sense than selling to a group trying to stay in Buffalo - the price tag goes waaaay up and what you can be certain of is that he is looking out for the financial future of his family. With the possibility that the salary cap could go away, Buffalo looks even less attractive. Wilson is the main owner screaming about the how the league's finances are changing and is trying to position his family properly. One can argue that he is doing best by Bills fans by staying here while he is alive, but one has to ask, how long can he continue to ignore the financial reality for his family. A billion dollar sale versus a five/six hundred million dollar sale is quite a difference.
  3. That's coaching - why is Jauron still here? Enough already.
  4. I agree with you, even the offense wasn't great, they should have been good for 1 yard and it might have generated some excitement.
  5. I am 4 years older than you - born and raised in Buffalo and lived in Jax for about 6 years. I still go there every year because several members of my immediate family live there (including my mother - father passed away 6 years ago). Quite frankly, the weather was a good thing, but Jacksonville has a lot of gaps in its appeal and is NOT an exciting city. Besides the beaches, which are not fun places to be all year (it is NOT South Florida), it is a cultural wasteland and I found the bar and party scene in Buffalo to be far superior. People that visited for the Super Bowl complained the entire time - there really is not that much to do down there. I live in NJ now and in no way, form or fashion, would I sacrifice my lifestyle here for one in Jacksonville - there is simply NO comparison (even with our stifling high taxes).
  6. This is not random cheering - this is to show the nation that Bills fans are not ignorant jerkoffs like the 'kids' who damaged his home. Geez, we cheered Scottie back in 1991 (as well we should have).
  7. Go there! Let's have fun with this thing. I was encouraged with how they played for the first 58 minutes.
  8. You can say his opinion means nothing all you want, but Vick has a second chance and you need to quit hatin' - life is moving the f*&^ on whether you want to or not - fortunately, the choice was not yours. If we spent more time truly trying to rehabilitate people as opposed to teaching them how to be better criminals, the world would be a better place. Nobody is excusing what Vick did, but he killed dogs - not people! Killing dogs is lowlife and criminal, but is it NOT the same as taking a human life.
  9. He's doing what he knows how to do - period. Would you prefer he be in need and mug you somewhere?
  10. Why are they idiots for giving a standing 'o' - the man paid the price that was asked of him. He made a mistake and he is being given a second chance.
  11. It was home - hard to reproduce that feeling anywhere else. Buffalo has the best junk food of anyplace I've ever been. I don't miss the self-hating attitude so many Buffalonians have and I don't miss cold Spring seasons.
  12. When is one considered to have paid his debt to society? As much as I love dogs (and cats) - have had dogs all my life and now my family has a cat that we LOVE - I don't view my cat like I view one of my children. As sickening as what he did was, and it hurts and disgusts me to think about it, he went to jail for it. If we want him to serve more time, then we need to adjust our criminal justice system. He did his time. We do this to all kinds of petty thieves and criminals - continue to persecute them for a crime they paid their debt for, then they can't get employment and end up back in a life of crime trying to survive. Let's move on already.
  13. I have rooted for some ex-Bills when they move on - not this guy!
  14. I'd worry about that in another 3 or 4 years. For us to not know who will be playing on the left side of our o-line right now is a little scary.
  15. What until he does his first regular season game in Buffalo and he sees the difference in atmosphere between the real home games in Buffalo and the fake atmosphere in Toronto - he'll be just fine - don't worry. He has to do the marketing up there. BTW, he might just think Toronto is more fun.
  16. What a flashback - I used to live 1/2 mile south of that store.
  17. Amen to that! BTW, that 90 year-old man still has his team in Buffalo and he doesn't have to!
  18. ------ It's a bad call - period - when you are running the ball down their throats - you only make that call if you NEED to get downfield and score - particularly, that far back on your own side of the field - it was STUPID! Remember back in 1990 when the Broncos came to town and the blocked field goal that gave the Bills a score - the game and turned around a season that took us to our first super bowl. I was with a good friend (a platonic female friend who knows a lot about sports) and she kept saying as they were lining up for the field goal - they've been running the ball on the Bills all day, why not take a shot on 4th down - at worst, they miss and have us backed way up against our own goal. This was a much stupider (I know that's not really a word) call because it is so obvious.
  19. I agree with you. I have been to several Bills/jests games over the years (I live in NJ), and, for the most part, the fans can be fun to hang out with. You really do have to be careful because there are lots of lunatic fans there and usually several big brawls with Bills fans when the beer starts to flow (sounds a little like the Ralph to me). It is possible to mind your own business and still get into a fight. I almost got into a fight years ago when at the end of a game the ball was thrown to Don Beebe to set up a first down which could put the Bills in a position to win. The guy behind me told me that some guys several rows back were gonna throw beer on my wife and me if Beebe caught the pass. I had on Bill's gear, but never cheered loud or acted obnoxious. I was there with my wife and really didn't want to get into a fight - I threatened that that was the last beer they'd ever throw, but, fortunately, Beebe missed the pass (got hurt) and it never came to pass.
  20. Lynch is a top-notch running back running behind a big, heavy, sorry-assed, uncoached offensive line - if he is half as disgusted as some of us are, he must be ready to leave.
  21. How old are you and how long have you been a Bills fan? Don't settle for bull&^$%, they owe us, the most loyal fans in the league, a better product than this - period!
