I don't mean in a player for swap sense. I mean, if Brady was drafted by a bad team, do you think he's still Brady? To develop a QB, you have to have a good team around him. In our case, it's the line that is the weak link. If they can fix that, I think even EJ can develop. He has certainly shown flashes. But when your team is inconsistent, it tends to make you inconsistent as a QB.

Your stats merely tell you that you have to have a good TEAM to win the Super Bowl. This isn't about having a franchise QB because you know what? When a guy is on a good team with talent all around him, he more often than not develops into a franchise QB. You really think Brady would still be in the league if he had played on a team like the current Bucs or Titans? Why do you think Kelly despised the idea of coming to Buffalo? The QB has to have a good TEAM around him to win football games consistently. Period.

You know why there are so many open college spots? Because there aren't many jobs left in this country that don't require a mop or spatula. People have wised up and stopped wasting the money on a piece of paper that only promises a lot of debt when you're finished.

Only in pro football does a player have to have collegiate experience. Just remember that when you're talking about his "experience." Because if it wasn't for that requirement guys like Newton wouldn't have ever stepped foot on campus. Also, to the "he can't read defenses" comment, who's to say he can't learn? In fact I would rather have a guy come in that has less college experience because if he's in one of those gimmicky offenses the less reps he has learning bad habits the better.

I know you don't live in reality, but explain to me why the more affluent 4 year universities would be perfectly ok with losing 2 years worth of tuition? There are already instances where two year credits do not transfer.

He's probably never seen him play. I've seen guys with way less talent get drafted pretty high. As a mid round pick you've got nothing to lose. If he starts and plays even remotely well, you look like a genius. If he ends up being terrible well, 3rd round pick, no big deal. We've drafted worse in the third.

People are so worried about experience. You can either play football or you can't. It's not like he's sitting on the bench in the spring or during practice. He's still taking all those reps, competing for a spot. Anyone coming into the NFL has zero NFL experience. College and the NFL are not the same thing. So why should Jones stay? Newton had what, 1 season at Auburn? Beat the Ducks? Situations are very similar except Newton had 7 more games than Jones and he went number 1 overall. Russell Wilson had 4 full seasons and went in the third. So are front offices more worried about experience or athleticism? Bottom line is, he's got the ability and he certainly has some serious mental fortitude to be dropped into the Big 10 Championship, Semi Final and National Championship and win all 3. He's worth a look.

I was discussing this with someone at work and realized something else that will definitely happen. 4 year universities will stop accepting credits from 2 year schools. So this will just be two extra years of high school in the end.

Well you know, this would be a much more valuable plan IF we planned on supporting businesses. But the entitled tax and spend regime can't ever see letting go of any of that money. We have the highest corporate tax in the entire industrialized world and rather than fixing that, we will offer some free classes to make the few jobs we do have less valuable. So not only will we be exporting jobs but now we will be exporting the people to fill them. Immigrants will travel here on Visas (or illegally through the amnesty proposal) get a a free 2 year degree and then move home with training to better themselves in their home country. We'll have even more debt and....
