  1. Um no offense but I'm pretty sure Shady, and most NFL players, would dismantle 98% of dudes in a "real fight" in "your father's home town", whatever that means. I think I'd put my money on the world class professional athlete over dad any day lol.
  2. Definitely holding on judgement against Shady until we know more. Seems like this was a fight, not an assault on unsuspecting victims. Sounds like the other dudes lost the fight. Shouldn't they be charged too if there are charges being levied for fisticuffs?
  3. He's a steeler so he won't. Absolute double standard in that game.
  4. Other than the new team in LA angle, which I think is very compelling, I don't see how they don't pick the Bills. Storylines abound for this team, and Rex gave them the best season they've had. I can't imagine we aren't on the short, short list to be on it.
  5. I'll get excited for that week 1 tailgate and hopefully beautiful weather. Also, I have no reason to think this 8-8 squad can't get to 10-6 and make the playoffs. There was certainly discouragement this year, but maybe our hopes were a little high for an entirely new system, new coaches, new quarterback... basically all the main pieces of the team's leadership structure were different. Historically speaking when a new coach comes in, I don't know that 8-8 is such a terrible result. It just stings more because we're all like come ON and just get back to the playoffs already. I'll try to be patient and give Rex at least through next year. But if we don't take a step forward in year 2, obviously that's a huge flag.
  6. So what happens to Raiders if Chargers and Rams move to LA? Are they allowed to keep playing in their "inadequate" stadium until such time as another city can make a play for them?
  7. Well, just personally, I love Jerry Hughes and I think he plays with a ton of heart and effort and is a good teammate with net positive influence on the attitude of our defense. He takes some penalties, but I'm surprised to see him compared to a dirtbag like Burfict. I don't see him in that category of deliberately trying to injure people.
  8. I would be interested to see him as a backup if he could be had on the cheap. There is no way RGIII is worse than EJ Manuel IMO. I don't see any upside to having EJ as a backup over just about anyone. Everyone is a football expert in here and so certain of the fate of all NFL players. Lot of the same folks were certain Cousins was garbage, only to watch him shred the Bills and generally tear it up down the stretch last year. Not saying he's elite, but he played elite for a good stretch of his first full season as a starter and got his team to the playoffs. Interested to see if he continues to develop next year. That said, RGIII will go somewhere he has a chance to compete as the starter. He's not coming here.
  9. Roman wants guys who can block. This team is still going to be run heavy, with the ever present threat of Sammy. Hope this guy makes the team. I'm sure Tyrod and he have a rapport that can be nothing but good for the offense and locker room.
  10. Everyone assumes Thurman is just a figurehead and Rex calls the D, but has this ever actually been confirmed? I know it's Rex's scheme, but Thurman must at least be running the day to day management and possible that he calls the shots on game day. I think people underestimate the DC role, even with a coach who has a heavy emphasis on that side of the call. It would not surprise me at all to learn that Rex has delegated this to Thurman. In that case, getting Pettine back could make a huge difference.
  11. I like it. The talent is there. Coach it to the playoffs or GTFO, Rex.
  12. I like your take OP. I'm with you on all these points.
  13. Based on his attributes and less on his overall performance. He played in a garbage offense at penn state with a garbage coordinator, line, and receivers. He made some boneheaded plays, but his ceiling is high. Certainly not a plug and play guy, but I like him learning behind Tyrod and seeing if he can develop into an nfl qb. There are no sure things in this draft, and he looks like a project with potential imo.
  14. Just getting all the kinks worked out for our Super Bowl run next year.
  15. If there was a chance to nab hack in the third round I'd be all about that.
  16. I'll go out on the limb. Skins-steelers. Steelers win.
  17. He is our starting qb. Period. Hope he stays that way for years to come and continues to develop. Would be great to start drafting qbs to develop behind him.
  18. Fifth round pick and a lot of cap space.
  19. Did a pretty good job of shredding the Bills. Along with the rest of that division sans Kellen Moores Cowboys.
  20. Don't mind having the depth at all. Believe it or not, it can get worse at C and S. If the price is right, I hope we bring him back. He wants to be a bill and he is a good influence on the locker room
  21. People were real excited to trash Cousins this year. There is not hotter qb in football right now and he's on his way to the playoffs.
  22. Happy for him and wish him the best. Still would like to have a backup qb that can come in and at least give you a chance against a team lik the Jaguars.
  23. This is good analysis and confirms what many have suspected. Mario is unhappy and he's not putting forth effort on the field as a result. I think Ryan's scheme is trash, but I also think Mario is a baby for selling out like this. Sorry man, you were great with us for a couple years under Schwartz. But this effort is atrocious and makes me embarrassed as a fan of the team.
