  1. Yeah, there is a clip that I saw that made me think we just might have something really special. Sorry....I have been looking casually at a number of highlight videos and I don't remember which it was...but think it was from the Senior Bowl. Anyway, it was one of those throws from about 30 yards out to the middle of the end zone. It's kind of throw that over the past many years as a Bills fan I would have to beg to "get there....get there" while defensive backs are closing from all angles. In the video of Allen it also seems instantaneous between when he decides to throw and the ball is in the receiver's hands.
  2. Yeah....need someone to teach running out of the back of the end zone. That kind of unawareness doesn't come naturally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0OkR986LL4
  3. I, too, preferred Rosen. But two things make me feel good about the Allen pick. 1) When they showed Rosen in the draft room and I saw his small frame, I couldn't help thinking: "Wow, he looks like Sam Bradford," which does worry me. The second is, if you are going to buy a lottery ticket (and all the evidence is that even quarterbacks at the top of the draft are a lottery ticket), why not buy a Powerball instead of a church festival raffle ticket? Yes, the Bills might have to do this again in three or four years.....but instead of just treading water and getting a quarterback who will get by....if you want a game changer, you probably have to take some chances.
  4. It's legal because it is collectively bargained. It's one of the arguments for the player's union to de-certify rather than go on strike. If there's no union, this becomes illegal.
  5. Yeah....If you don't have the likes of a Case Keenum on your team, you're screwed.
  6. Trusting the defense to get the ball back was not the issue to me. To me, the question is, given who was under center, what is more likely: That he gets one yard on the next play and continues a drive for a score with four minutes left....or that he is able to engineer a drive in under two minutes, probably from his own side of the field? They clearly did not trust Webb to pass....so the plan to win the game was to have him to make a last minute game winning drive? Sure, he had a 34 yard completion...in the snow...to a player who was falling down...and that was the plan? Does not sound like a consistently winning formula.
  7. Looking ahead to next week. Do I want us to lose in order to improve our draft pick? OR...do I want the Chiefs to lose in order to improve THEIR draft pick (which we own). I'm thinking I want the Chiefs to lose. I have more confidence in our ability to lose a bunch more.
  8. I'm wondering....if there are offsetting penalties, could the Bills decline the roughing the passer.....thus no offsetting...and take the 10 yard penalty from the spot of the foul?
  9. I was at that game. And if you remember, Kelly was signed late and had had very little practice before this game. Cincinnati was much better at the time and the fans could not believe they were losing to Buffalo....in large part thanks to Kelly. That pick was brutal, but I heard him interviewed after the game and he said that with the defense Cincinnati was in, he had to audible....and only knew a couple of audibles...so whenever he audibled to a pass in the game it was the same play. By overtime, Cincinnati had caught on and knew what the play was the second he audibled and jumped the route.
  10. Wow. You're allowed to do that?! Did anyone tell Rex?
  11. Clearly, he is trying to tank and he SUCKS at it....He keeps getting rid of our "best" players...and we keep improving.
  12. He must be hurting, right? Sore ribs? Ankle? Maybe a toe. When he gets healthy, Sammy's going to be another Julio Jones. Just you watch.
  13. In a lot of those years the schedule was inflated by playing some weak opponents...and that is not the case this year. That said.....Don't look know, but Cincinnati, under their new OC just scored 31 points. Yeah...I know it was against Cleveland. Just not sure if a win against Cincinnati is as easy as it seemed it would be.
  14. There's this Walter Powell fella who just might be available.
  15. Now he can bet back to trying to find the real killer.
  16. No kidding. When I saw some of the recent documentaries, I couldn't help thinking that O.J. is Michael Jordan with CTE.
  17. Nah...no worries. Dallas doesn't have a very good offensive line, right?
  18. Isn't this coach supposed to be an old school coach? You know....the kind that would run Oklahoma drills because they WANTED players to fight each other and get fired up?
  19. Yes....and I have suspected this. Remember a couple of years ago when Mario and Dareus were not a good fit and bitched and moaned all season? I don't necessarily think that Darby and Sammy were complaining to that degree...but I often think that new coaches will look for guys who don't seem "all in" and cut them loose to send the message: "Be with us 100% or be gone." I seem to remember Bill Cowher doing the same thing when he came to Pittsburgh and outright cutting guys who were high draft picks to send the message he would cut anyone.
  20. The Bills are clearly looking toward the future and stocking up on draft picks, but I have also wondered if there is a reason that they traded Sammy based on the present. They have said they want TT to work on reading defenses and making quick decisions and they may have thought that TT had gotten into the habit of just looking at "where's Sammy" and throwing there. I remember years ago that when the Giants traded Jeremy Shockey a lot of people thought that they had robbed Eil of his best (and maybe only) target....but once his security blanket was gone he actually became a better quarterback. I'm not saying this was the only reason they traded him but may have figured into their thinking...and a reason why having a bunch of possession receivers could benefit TT in this system.
  21. In some ways, the Sammy trade makes more sense than the Darby trade. Sammy was probably in his last year...is an injury risk...so for the new group it might be best to move on. Though no need to rush to move on from Darby. The idea that they are tanking (or, at the least, stockpiling for the future) would make sense. But then why sign Boldin? Particularly to a one year deal? Makes me wonder if there is going to be a part B to this plan....like maybe they are setting up a trade for someone else.
