Raimus, your name isn't Jeremy, is it? Work for WGR55? I think Chandlers' point is, Miller seems to be "all or nothing"...personally, I think the guy is tremendous a lot of the times, the victim of poor play by his defense, and just fatigued other times. I think this past game is the first time I have ever seen him "steal" a meaningful game. He was awesome. I give the teams dedication to defense, in game 1, a large part of the credit for that shut out. Also, given his sort of emotional reaction after game 4 ("I don't give an expelitive about what people who don't have any idea how to play goaltender have to say") may indicate that he is one who plays a better game, with a chip on his shoulder. He wouldn't be the first athlete to respond well to criticism. I was watching the Philly feed of game 3, and Bill Clements braught it up. He was talking about Laviollets (sp?) tendancy to yank goalies...he recalled Bob Keen telling his "#1" goaltender..."Look, I am going to play you 70 games a year, and you are going to be better some nights than others...I don't want you taking it personally if I ever pull you...it doesn't mean I think you are no good...it just means you aren't as good as I need you to be, right now...you'll be back the next game, so be ready"

Looks like it is a three-way tie between Trump, Palin and Barbour...the idiot, the other idiot and the idiot lobbyist!

Anybody catch 30 Rock last night?

And I am sure someone, here, will take it as an insult! -
Whoa...I thought Carlin was dead! !@#$ is as versatile as dirty words come!

Okay...okay...trying to make a joke...no pissing match to come! Your internet persona is so principled...sometimes!

dib, dib, dib...didn't you read the OP? btw- none of the other games in this series will be on Versus, either, unless another series ends... Funny, watching the Philly broadcast of the game last night (thanks TW Center Ice!), Bill Clements, doing the color, said the Sabres "weren't even trying to clear the puck anymore" I don't know if my heart can take another period like the third, last night...

When you really want to piss a woman off...(I am sure someone here as used it to describe Nancy Pelosi). Or If you are an english rock star, calling another dude by that name, gotta have a cockney accent, or it deosn't work, and it should be preceeded by f***in' or "bloody". Like I said, only in very specific scenarios...it is effective.

Romney might not be able to live this down....

That damn left! Good thing nobody else does that! Imagine how screwed we would be? Article is a joke (I know you know that), but your defense is pretty flimsy..."they made me do it". -

Oh...it is a great word, when used properly, and in the right context...not in this case.

http://www.theonion.com/articles/ethicists-update-list-of-acceptable-things-to-mast,20076/ "This new list may be an improvement, but it is still mystifyingly silent on such mainstays as nannies, shoes, and the scent of a cousin's panties," Amherst College ethicist Joshua McBride said. "Another edition and another slap in the face to people who enjoy grinding against stuffed animals."

Why Did the Revolutionary War start?

The uniforms... -
No, I meant VCR...I'm old school! Unfortunately, those two things are only irrelevant if he turns out to be good...

Everytime I give up on Miller, he comes up with a fantastic game. That may be the best game I have ever seen him play, in a Sabres uniform. Miller in his postgame pc: "I don't even listen to what a bunch of people who don't know anything about playing goaltender....I don't give an "expletive" what they say." Touche Ryan Miller...best goaltender on the planet, tonight...lets hope the same guy shows up on Friday! Definitely have to get their **** together on the defensive end...loved the way Meyers started tossing people around...if that kid develops a mean streak, the sky is the limit for him...

On right now, (7pm eastern) on ESPNU...Bills new QB?
-
Wow...hadn't heard about this. That is tragic...

No, I wouldn't condone that either...

It was just basically you saying, "we will agree to disagree"...I can live with that...

If the "light" takes me to where you and Chef reside, I'd rather not...but thanks for the advice. The first post you have made on this subject that makes sense...

Yawn...so in other words, if he had acted like a "whiney little B word" it would have been okay? Something tells me you would have a problem with that too...or at least your on-line persona would have a problem with it.
-
blah, blah, blah...your so deep! First, you would have more respect for Obama if he had admonished the guy, mid-interview, now you think it is beneath the President to admonish the guy at all...your spinning...

Let's face it...this is just a bad (stupid) idea. You really think Fitzpatrick would be happy to back up Palmer, again? At this point, I am not sure that Palmer is that much better than Fitz, just a bigger name. Palmer has not been the same since his injuries a few years ago, and, IMO, his performance is a big part of why the Bengals underachieved this past season. Even if Palmer were at the top of his game, this would never happen. He is saying "trade me or I will retire" to the Bengals. He isn't going to want to come to Buffalo...he has a handful of teams he wants to play for, if he can't, he says he will retire. Those close to Palmer seem to think he is very serious. Besides, getting Palmer, who is on the downside of his career it seems, would only set the team back...they would have to give up too much, and pay him too much...Fitz is fine for now...get a younger guy to start grooming...Fitz is the vetran they "need".

We will finally beat New England but...........

That didn't work out so great last game of the season in 2010...I was there...one of the most miserable games I have been to. -
You yourself were laughing because the station chose to show the part of the "interview" after the president had taken his microphone off. Now you are suggesting Obama chastised the reporter, because he knew everyone would see it? Maybe he did, but the television station had the choice whether to show it or not... btw- it is so ironic that you find a "superior" attitude, as you characterize Obama, so distasteful. Or, is this just another one of your arguments made, just for the sake of arguing?
-
I am not sure what that has to do with anything, as Obama is not the reporters boss. But if I was being a disrespectful smart ass, I would feel like I deserved it. I would also appreciate being pulled aside to be told I was doing something wrong, rather than airing it in front of co-workers. To me, handling it the way the president did shows much more leadership (if you will, the word you used) and maturity than castigating the guy during the interview that you are doing, for his benefit. I brought up Bush, because he was very different in the way he dealt with questions, and was very condescending, even when he was painfully wrong. It seems you would prefer that style? I guess I just don't see where Obama was being petty...he was speaking off the record, he wasn't trying to show the guy up, just asking for respect...I think you interpretation of this particular thing is just very odd...it doesn't even make sense, unless you are arguing just for the sake of arguing. I suspect if this wasn't Obama we were talking about, your interpretation would be a bit different. It really doesn't have anything to do with the nature of leadership...just partisan politics.
