  1. It was just basically you saying, "we will agree to disagree"...I can live with that...
  2. If the "light" takes me to where you and Chef reside, I'd rather not...but thanks for the advice. The first post you have made on this subject that makes sense...
  3. Yawn...so in other words, if he had acted like a "whiney little B word" it would have been okay? Something tells me you would have a problem with that too...or at least your on-line persona would have a problem with it.
  4. blah, blah, blah...your so deep! First, you would have more respect for Obama if he had admonished the guy, mid-interview, now you think it is beneath the President to admonish the guy at all...your spinning...
  5. Let's face it...this is just a bad (stupid) idea. You really think Fitzpatrick would be happy to back up Palmer, again? At this point, I am not sure that Palmer is that much better than Fitz, just a bigger name. Palmer has not been the same since his injuries a few years ago, and, IMO, his performance is a big part of why the Bengals underachieved this past season. Even if Palmer were at the top of his game, this would never happen. He is saying "trade me or I will retire" to the Bengals. He isn't going to want to come to Buffalo...he has a handful of teams he wants to play for, if he can't, he says he will retire. Those close to Palmer seem to think he is very serious. Besides, getting Palmer, who is on the downside of his career it seems, would only set the team back...they would have to give up too much, and pay him too much...Fitz is fine for now...get a younger guy to start grooming...Fitz is the vetran they "need".
  6. That didn't work out so great last game of the season in 2010...I was there...one of the most miserable games I have been to.
  7. You yourself were laughing because the station chose to show the part of the "interview" after the president had taken his microphone off. Now you are suggesting Obama chastised the reporter, because he knew everyone would see it? Maybe he did, but the television station had the choice whether to show it or not... btw- it is so ironic that you find a "superior" attitude, as you characterize Obama, so distasteful. Or, is this just another one of your arguments made, just for the sake of arguing?
  8. I am not sure what that has to do with anything, as Obama is not the reporters boss. But if I was being a disrespectful smart ass, I would feel like I deserved it. I would also appreciate being pulled aside to be told I was doing something wrong, rather than airing it in front of co-workers. To me, handling it the way the president did shows much more leadership (if you will, the word you used) and maturity than castigating the guy during the interview that you are doing, for his benefit. I brought up Bush, because he was very different in the way he dealt with questions, and was very condescending, even when he was painfully wrong. It seems you would prefer that style? I guess I just don't see where Obama was being petty...he was speaking off the record, he wasn't trying to show the guy up, just asking for respect...I think you interpretation of this particular thing is just very odd...it doesn't even make sense, unless you are arguing just for the sake of arguing. I suspect if this wasn't Obama we were talking about, your interpretation would be a bit different. It really doesn't have anything to do with the nature of leadership...just partisan politics.
  9. God, I miss the days when the Bills were contenders...if I go up to Buffalo for a game, it is normally for my mom's birthday (Oct 17- Bills @NY Giants), Thanksgiving (Bills on the road @NY Jets)...my only option this year is the dreaded meaningless final home game, on Christmas Eve against Denver...I have been to some crummy games, in Buffalo over the years...I went to the last game of the season last year, against the Pats...freezing, and a miserable game...
  10. Wow...I guess we just have very different interpretations on character. He is superior to the reporter...he is the friggin' president of the United States...he just didn't feel compelled to remind the interviewer, on the air. We had a president, before this one, who was smug and supremely confident in his ignorance on many things...and he wasn't afraid to say it...I guess that was somehow more preferable? From your take, it looks like you are leaning toward Donald Trump in 2012? You don't consider yourself a leader, do you? Or just one with a deadly attitude? Maybe you should say that it takes very little for you to judge someone's character, because you are judgmental by nature?
  11. I guess that is why I don't get it. You thought it was funny that they ran the part of the clip, after the interview was over, where the president admonishes the reporter. If he was the "holier than thou" guy you suggest, wouldn't he have done it during the interview? We all know that George W Bush was not well liked by many, but he never was disrespected, face to face, by members of the media, the way Obama has been. Did you see the interview that Bill O'Riley did with the president during the Super Bowl pre-game. It was downright rude. Obama rolled with it. People who like him, admired his calmness...people who dislike him (like you) characterized him as being a kitty. He speaks up here, and he is being "superior". Whatever... As for your experience with Hollywood celebrity, you shouldn't make assumptions...
  12. Eh...I guess I just don't see it... Good stuff, from the resident "whiny little B word" of TSW...takes one to know one!
  13. He was respectful enough of the reporter to wait until it was over...I would think you, of all people here, would appreciate some decorum. I am always trying to find redeeming qualities about you, but you make it difficult... It's beyond hopeless for LA!
  14. Sabres will be in Europe the first few weeks of the season, I believe...
  15. Bills open with KC: http://www.nfl.com/schedules/interactive?module=HP_cp3#/team=BUF No thanksgiving game...no prime-time for the Bills
  16. They have traditionally hosted the opening Thursday night game...since they have been opening on Thursdays the last few years. That would be on 9/8 this year...the opening Sunday game is on 9/11, which makes, to me anyways, a Jets vs Giants game, or a Jets/Giants vs Redskins, a natural...the NFL is normally all over pageantry and nationalism... They now do 2 MNF games opening night...
  17. Even the president is calling out little Ricky... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/19/obama-let-me-finish_n_850990.html?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec1_lnk3|57134
  18. Wow...seemed like the Jets vs Giants was a natural for opening night, on the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the WTC. Or, Giants vs Redskins...I guess the NFL is thinking different, if what you say is true.
  19. He may not care about being politically correct, but his stance on almost every social issue changes with whatever way he thinks the wind is blowing...that hs ie getting so much run (I realize it is very early still) as any kind of serious candidate is rediculous...it is rare that I would be on the same side of an issue as Karl Rove!
  20. I use the Shake Weight all the time...and I still keep porking on the pounds!
  21. Found it interesting to read, Palmer organized a similar workout for Bengals players...but it wasn't Carson Palmer...it was his brother Jordan Palmer...
  22. Yes, but I think they are wrong, or, the Sabres game is going to be "JIP" (joind in progress)...NHL.Com is listing the Rangers & Capitals as the primary game on Versus... To further the confusion, the Buffalo Sabres official website lists the game on Versus on the "click here to enter" page, but once you go in, it doesn't list Versus as a carrier for the game: http://sabres.nhl.com/index.html btw: NY Rangers site lists Versus for their game!
