It is an interesting field of candidates. Obviously, some are more legit than others...the most formidable seem to be the ones that are not as well known. I think Chandlers' point is, Miller seems to be "all or nothing"...personally, I think the guy is tremendous a lot of the times, the victim of poor play by his defense, and just fatigued other times. I think this past game is the first time I have ever seen him "steal" a meaningful game. He was awesome. I give the teams dedication to defense, in game 1, a large part of the credit for that shut out. Also, given his sort of emotional reaction after game 4 ("I don't give an expelitive about what people who don't have any idea how to play goaltender have to say") may indicate that he is one who plays a better game, with a chip on his shoulder. He wouldn't be the first athlete to respond well to criticism. I was watching the Philly feed of game 3, and Bill Clements braught it up. He was talking about Laviollets (sp?) tendancy to yank goalies...he recalled Bob Keen telling his "#1" goaltender..."Look, I am going to play you 70 games a year, and you are going to be better some nights than others...I don't want you taking it personally if I ever pull you...it doesn't mean I think you are no good...it just means you aren't as good as I need you to be, right now...you'll be back the next game, so be ready"

Everytime I give up on Miller, he comes up with a fantastic game. That may be the best game I have ever seen him play, in a Sabres uniform. Miller in his postgame pc: "I don't even listen to what a bunch of people who don't know anything about playing goaltender....I don't give an "expletive" what they say." Touche Ryan Miller...best goaltender on the planet, tonight...lets hope the same guy shows up on Friday! Definitely have to get their **** together on the defensive end...loved the way Meyers started tossing people around...if that kid develops a mean streak, the sky is the limit for him...

Let's face it...this is just a bad (stupid) idea. You really think Fitzpatrick would be happy to back up Palmer, again? At this point, I am not sure that Palmer is that much better than Fitz, just a bigger name. Palmer has not been the same since his injuries a few years ago, and, IMO, his performance is a big part of why the Bengals underachieved this past season. Even if Palmer were at the top of his game, this would never happen. He is saying "trade me or I will retire" to the Bengals. He isn't going to want to come to Buffalo...he has a handful of teams he wants to play for, if he can't, he says he will retire. Those close to Palmer seem to think he is very serious. Besides, getting Palmer, who is on the downside of his career it seems, would only set the team back...they would have to give up too much, and pay him too much...Fitz is fine for now...get a younger guy to start grooming...Fitz is the vetran they "need".

That didn't work out so great last game of the season in 2010...I was there...one of the most miserable games I have been to.
