  1. As much of loon as he is, I think Mike Huckabee was the most charismatic GOP "candidate" in a long time...
  2. The big expose on ESPN is set to be released tomorrow...might make a good read for the extended off-season...some excerpts, from Deadspin. I love Michell Beadle, but her assesment of Erin Andrews is pretty cold... http://deadspin.com/5803305/what-weve-learned-from-the-espn-book-so-far "You're with me, Leather"...don't know how I missed that one!
  3. As should the idiots who actually consider casting a vote for Trump...or most of the other GOP "candidates" at this point.
  4. Yes, Gene Simmons is very aware of the "real world"
  5. Yeah, I know...I just think it is funny...he is such an attention whore!
  6. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/23/donald-trump-for-president_n_865466.html
  7. Pretty much sums it up for me...
  8. Exactly, you don't have to have a great voice to be a great singer...
  9. Oh wow...I thought he was talking about the 1700-1800 NFL players that will have noting to do, during an extended off-season...idle hands and all.
  10. I think Cher is possibly the most a-tonal singer ever, but has made a nice career for herself. Bad singer, at its' purist.
  11. Your argument gets weaker with each post...I am a huge Johnny Cash fan, and honestly not a rap fan, at all, for the most part. But your notion that "anyone can do it" is laughable, and, you sound nuts...sorry dude. I can assure you, there are were those, back in the day, who would have questioned Cash's talent as well... so porn and rap are the "same kind of deal?" Brother...your true feelings are coming through loud and clear.
  12. Speaking of which, saw this piece on Jagger working on a new "supergroup" project, fallout from Keith's book, it seems? http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/mick_forms_secret_supergroup_4QQss9y0ePUJ4bnbXV2sCJ Almost forgot about Keiths' "Mein Kampf" reference to Jaggers first solo album, "She's the Boss": I've never listened to [it] the whole way through. Who has? It's like Mein Kampf. Everybody had a copy, but nobody listened to it. I love those early albums too...they hadn't quite developed their own sound yet, and were copping more of a limey blues band thing...good stuff though...Brian Jones hay-day...for you, the Wolfmans' "Little Red Rooster" as done by the Stones, 1965: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiFnleuNULQ&feature=related
  13. D Wright is the guy that made me finally stop pretending I knew a damn thing about how college guys were going to make it in the pros...according to me, at one time, Wright would have been taking the keys to the car, so to speak, from Nate Turner, taking hand offs from Trent Edwards...and Corey Moore, the best college lindbacker I ever saw, would be contemplating retirement this summer...
  14. Yes, the difference seems to be that one is an old white man glorifying the murder of his woman, who, using your broadstroke argument, is gearing his music towards white people who love their guns more than they love their women. The other is a black street thug, singing about someone else murdering a police officer...the differences are black and white, why can't these people just see that? btw- what are "fantastical lyrics"? Did anyone actually listen to the song they are so outraged by? I am no rap fan, but I swear, I never once heard Common telling kids (or anyone else) to go out and kill police officers...you have a fantastical imagination... I wonder what any of you morons would think of Nick Cave...
  15. You will make a great lawyer...
  16. I wasn't referring to getting your credit checked when you apply for a job...I think that is BS too (and it is being outlawed in some states), I was talking about denying somebody a raise, because you don't like the way they spend their money...making the judgement that "I am better with money, so you can't have more"...but thanks for all the info...see the distinction?
  17. I saw the thread title and thought it was going to be about Kareem Abdul Jabarr!
  18. Yeah, I pretty much love everything from 1963-1981, after that, pretty spotty. I tried making a 90 minute "best of" mix-tape of the stuff after that, once upon a time...it was much more difficult than I anticipated...ended up being 45 minutes, mostly Keith's tracks from those albums.
  19. You stole this joke from Steven Wright, didn't you?
  20. Btw- somebody gave it a 3 star review based on the mis-information on the packaging. IIRC correctly, the corrected it on later pressings of the disc. Their review explains the mix-up: "The box shows six bonus features on the first disc, but four of them are not there (two were replaced with others). The program does not include the features on Jack Kemp, Cookie Gilchrist, Thurman Thomas or Jim Kelly! Instead, it includes Marv Levy, Bob Kalsu, Scott Norwood and Joe Delamielleure. Same problem with the second disc. It advertises a bonus feature on the 1963 Bills season, which is not there. Instead, it has an excellent America's Game program on the 1990 season. Being a fan of the 1960s NFL and the four-superbowl run the Bills made in the 1990s, I wished the as-advertised bonus features were actually on the discs." Either way, the two hour documentary on the history of the franchise is excellent, though a few small inaccuracies...my memeory is too bad these days to remember what they are, but I know there was 1 or 2 minor things.
  21. You are hopeless...you are one of those idtiots who would change the vernacular of a Mark Twain novel to fit your sensibilites...it is a much bigger world out there...your interpritation of this is pretty ignorant...
  22. It is pretty great...I got it when it came out, pre-ordred, and they had all the packages mis-marked, saying that there were some features in the two disc set, which were not accurate. Can't remember what was supposed to be on there at the moment, but it was replaced by the excellent NFL Network special "Missing Rings" or something like that...anyways, only $13.99 on Amazon...got one for my broter for 9.99 during Christmas. http://www.amazon.com/NFL-History-Artist-Not-Provided/dp/B0026OE2OS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305828793&sr=8-1
  23. The GM of the Timberwolves "jokes" that the lottery is fixed...he might be hearing from Sterns office! http://www.nesn.com/2011/05/timberwolves-gm-david-kahn-implies-that-nba-draft-lottery-results-are-rigged.html
