  1. Listen to the words man! This guy would have Dexter Morgan quivering in a corner... Happy Halloween!
  2. Okay...in fairness to Mario Williams, this article was posted after the Houston media article, Mario says he is happy in Buffalo: http://wgr550.com/tw...-drive/14667344 "Williams doesn’t want any fans in Houston or in Buffalo to think he doesn’t want to be where he is now, “I’m here now and I’m ecstatic about it and we need to make the best of it, but there was never an offer from the general manager, it was a one way door that was opened.”
  3. I am not a Williams hater, though, living in TX, I wasn't convinced he was the game changer we Bills fans thought they were getting. That said, the article posted on the front, with the interview given to the Houston media is pretty bad, in a Bills inferiority complex sort of way. He goes out of his way to insure Houston fans that he didn't want to be a free agent, but wasn't given a choice....says he loved playing in Houston...never mentions he is happy to be in Buffalo (c'mon lie a little Mario) and, honestly, he says he doesn't care what fans think...apparently, unless they are Houston fans...I think Bills fans have been excessively harsh after 7 games...but man, the guy is not much on PR.
  4. One of the handfull of truly nice guys on TBD...Happy Birthday!
  5. Mark V, StuckinCincy and The Dean... I know Mark is still out there, but has shifted priorities...anyone know what happned to Cincy and The Dean?
  6. So, 33 people dead, and 7 million without power... just another rainstorm...in Austin, it was pleasent and cool...don't get what the big deal is all about! Didn't affect me one iota!
  7. Yeah, I am in the camp that thinks there is more talent on this team than it might seem...I am just losing faith in the coaching staff...I like Chan for the most part, but he doesn't really seem to inspire the troops to play up to their potential...and then, beyond the inspirational "win one for the gipper" stuff, I am liking, less and less, his game planning...there just doesn't seem to be that sense that the coach is putting his team in the best situation to win...rather putting the game in the best situation to run his game plan...disappointing, cuz I really thought Chan had an edge on game day coaching...
  8. Yeah, you are right...Buckey went from WR to DB...he wasn't particularly good at either... One of the reasons I always liked Brooks, he kind of got screwed around by the Bills, but always came to play. He was a huge, underrated, reason they even made it to the Super Bowl that last time. As I recall, the Bills cut him to avoid paying him a bonus...and then re-signed him either right before the season started, or in the first few weeks, when there was an injury...he played for the vet minimum...and I just remember he came up with some really key catches throughout that season...he wasn't the fastest, but was reliable as hell...except maybe SB 28!
  9. Love the optimism...I wish I could share it with a straight face. As I see it, the Bills need to beat either Houston or New England in the next two weeks, and then win 6 of the last 7 games in the "easy" part of their schedule...not impossible, but I haven't seen enough from this team to make me think they will do that. One thing they mention that makes me scratch my head...Chan "says" he wants Jackson/Spiller to touch the ball 35-40 time combined...if you follow this team, that will only happen if the Bills run 95-100 offensive plays a game. Last game (vs Titans) despite the fact that Jackson/Spiller were both running the ball great, they only got around 20 carries between them...meanwhile Fitzbengal threw 35 passes...despite what Chan claims, he is a pass first coach...even when it comes to the detriment of the team. Including pass targets, Jackson/Spiller may touch the ball 35-40 times, but there is no sense that Gailey will try to grind it out, kill the timeclock, with a power running game...and it seems to me, for the first time in forever, the Bills have the pieces to do that.
  10. Only thing I would worry about, from Steve Jackson, and the Packers POV, they really haven't had a reliable running game since Rodgers has been the starting QB (maybe before) and won a ton of games without...when they spent the early part of this season trying to establish their running game, they weren't quite as dominant..now, that could be because all their running backs have sucked, or it could just be something inherent in the offense that they seem most comfortable in running. Would be cool though, I agree, to see Jackson end up with a team that has a chance to do something...he is one of those "superstar" caliber guys who has spent most of his peak years toling in obscurity, on bad football teams...and, as you say, seems like a good guy.
  11. Trade deadline is Thursday.
  12. Maybe that is all it is..but they seemed to make a big effort to show you that the two ladies were given tea, and, IIRC, the blonde lady (Angela?) sipped from it, but the other lady only scowled at it. And then, when the Governor was talking to his minion, he says something like "I have you around to tell me what I need to hear...and for your tea". I don't know...two mentions of tea, in unrelated scenes, kind of struck me as odd. When I said the writing was a little spotty, I was more referring to the characters than the plot. Sometimes the characters just seem to act "out of character" for the convenience of the plot. Not a big deal, as it is really just an action-adventure type show... I don't recall now, but were all the heads in the tanks at the end, males? Just trying to figure out the Governors motivation...keeping the ladies around to breed/populate his new town? All in all, a good episode...keeps you wondering.
  13. I am thinking it has something to do with the "tea" that they kept mentioning, and pushing on everyone? What is in that damn tea? All in all a good episode I suppose...glad they finally explained the practical reasons for having two pet zombies chained, with no mouth or arms... having not read (and no plans to do so) read the graphic novels, I have no idea where this Woodbury thing is going...but it was starting to feel a little like a Star Trek episode. The crew lands on an idealic paradise planet, with a hollow, "charismatic" leader who is hiding something sinister...the writing on this show is pretty spotty...remains to be seen if they can sustain an interesting story line...
  14. Okay...not Freddie..but Steven! http://aol.sportingn...?ncid=webmail16
  15. No way..not with the current owner in place. Honestly, I have had enough of the Ryans... Rob, Rex, Buddy and Paul! Oh my god...this made me home sick...why did you say this?
  16. I got a 15...but should have been a 16...Bills leading receiver in Super Bowl 27 was Andre Reed. I knew it was wrong, cuz Bill Brooks (not Bucky) was one of my favorite Bills, and way under appreciated! Bucky was drafted as a CB, and tried to convert to WR when he went to, I believe, the Panthers. Also, I might be wrong on this, but I believe Scott Norwood "played" for the New Jersey Generals as well as the Birmingham Stallions...if I recall, he signed with them, before the league folded. So, technically he never played for them, but was a member of the squad, along with Jim Kelly and Doug Flutie...the team owned by Donald Trump. Funny, if the questions had been about the last 12 years or so, I would have bombed...I can't remember what happened with this team just last year, without a lot of effort, but those Super Bowl era teams are etched in my mind forever...and I grew up hearing so much about the AFL teams (I am 47), that I feel like I saw them. Post Wade Phillips though, it is all a long, nightmarish, blur.
  17. Yes, because it didn't affect you personally, it is manufactured...
  18. Jeez...lets get this election over already...
  19. I understad what you are saying, but, after everything that has happened, if the Bills traded Jackson, all that would mean is Chan would call 9 running plays per game, instead of 19!
  20. Funny, I was really amped about watching the Steelers/Redskins game (my first real look at RGIII in the pros), but not to sound silly, the Steelers uniforms were so butt ugly, it was just hard to watch the game...as my only other choice was the Pats/Rams debacle in London, I ended up just turing to the Red Zone for the early games...I am starting to thing the throwback thing is played out for a while...
  21. Actually, I am not sure that every team has to have a representitive. Thus far, Spiller would be most deserving....possibly Kyle Williams. However, with KW, while he has made plays, and he has a rep as a great player...he is part of a line that is underperformning, and has been inconsistant. And the team has been way too easy to run on, up the middle.
  22. Well...if the other folks in your league know you are a Bills fan..they will just assume....nevermind! Coincidentally, I head into the Monday night game with a six point lead...I have Gore, and my opponent has Fitzgerald...like my chances of going 6-2! I have Colston and Jimmy Graham...they almost killed me tonight....but for the second time in 3 weeks, a garbage time TD by a losing team may have saved my bacon! Graham got 7 points for me on that last TD....I was so sure the Saints would sit Graham and Colston on that last drive...so glad they didn't!
  23. Honestly, after 40 years of living and dying with this team, the intensity of the losses started to dissipate the last year Jauron was here... I don't want the Bills to win any less than I used to, and I still, generally, feel a nice, natural buzz when they win, no matter what the record is. It kind of makes me a little melancholy to be aware of this, but, overall, it is better for me. Nothing I can do can change the outcome of the Bills fortunes. Besides, the way we watch sports nowadays is so different than what so many of us (us 40+ aged fans) I think the NFL, and the other pro leagues, want us to like the sport, more than the individual teams. The prevalence of fantasy sports, sanctioned by the leagues themselves, is part and parcel with that. Just the other day, two guys on the NFLN were praising the (fantasy) virtues of Ryan Fitzpatrick. The way they were talking, is it as if they had never seen him play, they were merely drooling over the fact that "if you can live with two or three picks a game, he will get you some TD's every week, and that makes him a solid fantasy QB." The way they were talking him up, you would have thought they were trying to distinguis the difference between Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.
  24. Wait, are we still talking about Colin Powell?
