Fitz was outstanding.. for all you haters
Buftex replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He may not be our biggest problem (that is Chan Gailey), but he is one of them. I have no doubt, a head coach capable of (cliche coming up) "putting his team in the best position to win" could win more games than Gailey has with Fitzpatrick, Jackson and Spiller at this disposal. Fitz has his woes, but Gailey does little to hide them... Chan has been, consistlenly, this season (and most of last), the worst game day performer on the Bills sideline. When Fitz says the team lacks a "kiler instinct", he is talking about his head coach... -
anyone else kind of glad the season is over?
Buftex replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am never glad when football season is over...I will try, however much in vain, to extract as much pleasure out of the last 3 games as possible...and then start the count down to another draft, free agency, training camp...pre-season games... only to watch it all erode into the same ol, same ol over the last four months of the year... -
I would have loved to see the Bills draft Cousins...oh well... look forward to the season so much, and then just more frustration and numbness...why do we do this?
-
Ugh...picked up the Bills defense, and planned on playing them today...but chickened out at the last second, and went with the Bengals instead. It got me one extra point....0 points from Bryce Brown in my flex really hurt too. The killer is, Cam Newton had a huge day for me (45pts) but everyone else was sub-par...my opponent had a pretty mediocre too...but, he had the luck of having the Seahawks defense....he got 51 freakin' points....so now, I am down 130-90 going into Monday Night Football game...unless Wes Welker somehow gets me 41 points tomorrow night, I am out of the playoffs...disappointing end to a fun season...now I can focus on watching the Bills continue descent with no distractions from anything pleasurable...bummer Sunday.

Will he be seen as being as great as Brees or Rodgers if neither of them ever wins another Super Bowl? I think anyone who had any doubts about how good P Manning is would be thinking he is pretty elite, after this season. I have seen about 6 or 7 of his games this year, and he is impressing me more than ever. Would be extra cool to see P Manning meet E Manning in the Super Bowl, after eliminating Luck and the Colts in the AFC Championship game....not gonna happen, I realize (or very unlikely), but it would be very interesting...if only David Stern was the NFL commissioner!

Yeah...not a stellar list where there is one clear cut choice...any one could have a huge day, or any one could do absolutely nothing. Stevie, if he plays is the one I would think is the only one guaranteed to get you something (3pts- 7pts...maybe more with a TD!), but, he would also seem to have the least potential for a huge game..Skelton is starting again in Arizona, whatever that means...if we take Chan at his word that the Bills are a running team, than I don't think we can expect a lot of passing yardage from the Bills or Cards. All said, I would probably go with Jones. Sure, he may come up snake eyes, but the Packers throw the ball (it is what they do), so he has the greatest big game potential of the three...IMO! Unfortunately, this year with all the injuries, Packer receivers are like the Saints receivers have been for a few years...somebody is going to get a **** ton of yards every week, you just don't know who it will be. I would take a gamble on Jones, as neither of the other guys is likely to have a monster game.

Joe Flacco - interested?

Just a hunch...this is one of those "I know someone who knows someone" kind of things...but here goes, for what it is worth. I have a friend whose sibling works for the Bills. Has since the mid-80's. My friend (not the sibling) is not particularly knowledgable about football, and certainly not about any teams other than the Bills. Occaisionily this friend will email me or call me, and drop some mentions of something their sibling said about the Bills...cuz this friend knows I am a huge Bills fan. Last week, before this thread was even started, this person emailed me, after not speaking since early in the season, and asked me what I thought of the Bills getting Joe Flacco. For this person to just come up with this, out of the blue, would be too weird. Things like this have happened before, over the years...I am not saying the Bills are going to sign Flacco, only that I am willing to bet that the name has floated around the front office as a possible target. That is a long way from signing him...just speculation. Now, I realize, this could probably means nothing, but it is not the kind of thing this person would say, unless they were hearing it from their sibling. This sibling is not an upper management person, and, honeslty, not necessarily the most knowledgable person either when it comes to football stuff (personel and such)..so when they come up with names, I assume it is coming from someone who knows more than they do about NFL personel...office gossip...sorry to be so vauge, I just don't want to divuldge anybody's identity. I knew somebody else who worked at One Bills Drive, a few years ago, in a more football related area (as opposed to lower level admin staff), who got himself in trouble for saying "too much". -
Where the !@#$ did I say that people should become upset? Was just addressing the OP being perplexed as to why anyone would be offended. Defintely this!

What I was thinking too!

Finally, we agree on something! -
I will add Reggie Wayne should have a good game against the Titans. Jeez...you wanna swap teams?
-
Okay...I am not as eloquent as you or Chef, but I will try to explain this one last time... I did not start this thread, or frame the argument being made. I was merely responding to the OP's original post that he was "shocked and upset" that somebody would be offended by this photo, cuz it was just a bunch of hot co-eds at a party, having a good time. I was merely pointing out that he, and maybe some others who seemed equally "shocked and upset", might not be so "shocked and upset" if they were part of the demographic that was being lampooned in the photo... that was it. I never said Mexicans would or should be offended, only suggested that they might be offended (and I was careful to use the word "might")...and I just found it odd that nearly everyone came to the conclusion that because they don't get upset over these things, there is no reason that anyone else should.

Damn...this stuff is never easy, huh? Of all your options, I think I would like Cleveland Vs KC first. The Browns defense has been playing pretty well, they are at home, against a bad team...and this may sound terrible, but with the tragedy surrounding the Chiefs, I have a hunch they shot their wad, so to speak, last weekend... not sure what the weather will be like in Cleveland, but it sounds like most of that are is expecting 50's and rainy... I am a Cam Newton owner, so I remember his last game against the Falcons. He had a good game. And, maybe this is the optimisitc Newton owner in me, but he has looked really good the last few weeks...I think Rivera knows his days are numbered, and is kind of handing the offense back over to Newton. I could be very wrong, but I think he may just be hot. That said, the Falcons do seem to get a fair number of picks, which is always nice. The one reason I like the Bengals (though not more than the Browns) this week that the Cowboys have been a little "too efficient" the last few games...this is where they tend to implode...and they are capable of lots of turnovers. The Cowboys have a lot of fairly talented skill position players, but all are prone to bad mistakes in tight games. Bengals defense is pretty decent. To me, like the Bills (who I am now leaning toward playing) this is a kind of high risk, high reward kind of play. I am not sure if they will get becoup points, but i am pretty sure they aren't going to leave you with nothing either. That is the worst.

I have reason to believe that the idea of the Bills getting Joe Flacco has been discussed at One Bills Drive... -
Fitz Over/Under 30 pass attempts win loss record
Buftex replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Overall, I agree with this..but in the case of the Buffalo Bills, I would bet that there are probable about 6-8 games that were lost in the Gailey era, where passing when it wasn't necessary, or advisable, cost the team wins...they were not down by three touchdowns in a lot of these losses, but failed, simply, to run the ball at the appropriate times, and run time off the clock. So, while what you are saying is generally true, it is not true in every case with the Gailey era Bills. Poor clock management (throwing incomplete passes to lengthen games where victory is in the teams grasp, where a few runs would have been much smarter) has killed the Bills numerous times with Chan at the helm. -
Yes...and you miss my point completely....it doesn't offend you, so why should anyone be offended? For such a tough guy, you certainly take offense pretty easy. Get over yourself dude... the world doesn't revolve around you. I am glad you have great self esteem and a pair between your legs...I have never doubted that you have self esteem...you also have a tremendous ego. I guess that would come with being the self appointed arbiter of all. But, I didn't realize we were talking about you. Good for you... So, since you are not talking out your ass, why don't you go around and show the picture to 100 Mexicans and see if they say "oh mama...chichis niiiiice" I know many Mexicans, and I can assure you, while they may not want to sue anybody, a great number of them would be disappointed, and probably a little embarrassed for people who think that is funny. Not all would be impressed by a bunch of sorority girls, as you seem to be. My girlfriend is Mexican...I am not (dumb Pollock here), but I can't tell you how many times I have introduced her to people from my side of the tracks, who, while well intentioned, break the ice with idiotic stereotype jokes...she doesn't get offended where she wants to sue somebody, but disappointed that the only thing that people can think of to break the ice is to make some comment about beans making them fart, or having lots of kids....or mowing lawns and smoking weed. Oh, I know...I grew up hearing dumb Pollock jokes my whole life... and I lived through it...wasn't suggesting otherwise...just that everyone is chiming in and, essentially saying "I am not offended so nobody else should be". For me, this kind of stuff, isn't so much offensive as it is just kind of stupid.
-
Nah...those could be offensive too...it is sort of the same thing...if you are Italian (I don't know), but it is fathomable that you might find some of those stereotypes offensive... Party foul!
-
Somehow, wearing team colors and partaking in a drink specific to a culture doesn't seem as controversial as "I don't mow grass I smoke it" or "will mow lawn for weed and beer"...one of those false equivalancies...

We have come full circle, I see....

Browns are not available...my available options: Not available..only teams available: Bills (vs St Louis) Titans (@Indy) Lions (@Green Bay) Chiefs (@Cleveland) Saints (@NY Giants) Jaguars (vs NY Jets) Raiders (vs Denver)
-
Would you play Gordon over any of the following: Frank Gore -rb- (vs Miami) Chris Johnson -rb- (@ Indianapolis) Wes Welker -wr- (vs Houston) Marques Colston -wr- (@NY Giants)
-
Yeah...the Bills are available (the best of the available teams)...I was thinking along those lines as well...but I am always so hesitant to let my personal life (Bills) bleed into my business life (winning fat cash in FF!)....may reconsider...Bills always scare me, whenever I think I have them figured out, they do something to surprise me.
